A lot of chat about not much. The crux is the degree to which people have been inconvenienced and that has probably been next to nothing, unless spending time on the thread following events and generally complaining is counted in.
I wanted and expected the full balance plus interest on the 20th, but thanks to a bit of advice on here I've drawn out the bulk (£3249) and will withdraw the rest when it becomes available. It's due to go into an account at 1.5% but it will get 1% interest anyway from Virgin. Trivial.0 -
My Virgin interest has now appeared (though is showing as uncleared).
It won't let me close the account yet and says: "Unfortunately we cannot process this request, as the selected account has uncleared transactions".Stompa0 -
Trivial.
I can only repeat what I said at post 135 and 140.
The account was set up with a specific maturity date - Virgin failed to pay interest on the date agreed and furthermore did this without advising the customer and without apology or explanation.
And that really is that.0 -

In the past people get compensated with Santander (?)
Is there any chance to get compesated on this ? Has anyone tried it ??0 -
If they had said sorry folks technical problems are preventing payouts on the maturity date but to lessen the blow interest at 2.25% will run to the date of payout, would there have been the level of anger that we've seen on here following their rather misguided idea of changing the maturity date, which actually has the same result?
They should have explained it all on the website which was a big omission and hopefully they will learn something from this experience.0 -

It looks as though they may not have fixed the glitch though. At closure my account had £3547.11 in it (£3501.58 + £45.53 interest). But the withdrawal amount shown in uncleared payments is -£3592.54. I wonder how much will arrive in my nominated account?!!!Stompa0 -
Thanks, I've just done that.

Its the later.
Every issue seems to have a different maturity issue.
They'll have it cracked by issue 99.....maybe.0 -
I've had double payment of interest.....for the 3rd time in a row. This must be costing VM dearly. I pointed out the problem at Issue 1 and they eventually wrote off the overpayment. With issue 2 I still have a debit balance showing on the maturity account and VM haven't contacted me. I'll be leaving Issue 3 with the debit balance.0
