Regular Saver Thread **New and Restarted**

You can open a Regular Saver online if you have a current account.
I have 2 TSB current accounts, but they've temporarily halted online applications for various types of accounts following their recent IT issues. Only way to open them at the moment is in branch AFAIK. I'll probably just wait until online option comes back and see how things stand.0 -

As they aren't currently available online, I decided to go to a branch in town, but there was apparently "nobody available to see me" and I'd have to make an appointment to come back. I've decided not to bother for now, as the 2% isn't much above the 1.31% the money's currently earning. I wish they would just let you open these at the main counter instead of making you have a meeting with someone trying to upsell you every product they have.
Glad to know it is not just me. Not online. Not over the phone.

... a lot of people here tend to get touchy about things that are outside discussing opening new regular savers. Giving you a heads up.

Cool. That’s not to be taken personally. What I said still stands regardless of your first page quote, and that is the case. The person was asking for help about their personal upkeep of accounts or so, I said best to do a new thread, as that would essentially derail the thread , and people don’t like that happening. It’s simple, and if you scroll up you’ll see instances where people (myself included)have actually been talking about the regular savers on the list , but about personal use and other stuff, and have been told not to derail the thread for the very same reason. Hence why I said OUTSIDE of opening regular savers. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I see that Scottish Building Society is now offering 2.00% p.a. variable on its 12 month RS, max £500 per month, operated by post or branch and seemingly not restricted to residents of Scotland. Please, any feedback on this BS, especially from any of its customers resident in England or Wales?0
