Hi everyone, is the money you all make "extra" or do you register as self employed? how much can you make before being taxed?0
-
you need to register as self-employed within 3 months of starting - but the great thing is you pay very little tax as you keep all your receipts which relate to your business - ie petrol, gifts for guests, entertaining etc etcI get paid to party!:rotfl:0

I'm always amazed by people that run two 'party plan' businesses. How can you focus properly on two businesses at once.
I spend my time focusing on just the one, because I really believe in what I sell and I can support my team properly.
I've earnt more than enough to pay my mortgage and earnt a holiday to mexico this year. It's much better than having a 9-5 job anyway!!!0 -
I also work 9-5 at the moment - but hoping early next year I can give up my ft job and do party plan more regulary -it really is brill - earning great money, meeting lots of exciting people, and having a laugh.I get paid to party!:rotfl:0

If organic products are your thing see www.naturallymi.com. There is an initial/monthly layout but if you like the products (and this company has high quality/ethics), you'll be using them anyway so can earn money from recommending to friends, internet marketing (the company will provide the website for you as part of the package) or via stalls and markets, party plan etc.0

I am interested in a lot of these ideas. which would be the cheapest route i.e no outlay. I like ideas that don't always focus on parties hence you could post brochures locally etc0

You don't have to do just parties - in fact I do plenty of fairs and fundraisers and sell via catalogue drops as well but they main aea where you get the biggest sales are at parties.
Hope this helps if you need mnore info just ask!:beer:I get paid to party!:rotfl:0 -
Again, I don't know what costs are involved with the other party plan businesses, but I can give you more info on Usborne Books.
Our starter kits usually cost £38 and you receive a kit worth £100. This week our kit costs £10, and it's going up by £5 a week throughout March.
Parties are obviously a good way of meeting new people/customers and making good contacts, BUT, there are so many other ways you can sell our books. I personally don't do that many parties, but concentrate more on getting sales at schools, toddler groups, leisure centres, school fetes...... the list is endless!
The one thing I would say is to find a product that you are passionate about. If you're not interested in the product yourself, then you're going to find it harder to sell. If you love the product, then you're going to find it very natural to sell it.
Good luck in your search to find what's right for you.

I do FM perfumes and i love it. Their starter kit costs 29.50 delivered with 100 samples. You only order what people want so no stockpiling and its up to you how much you sell and how you sell it.
You could in theory start without the kit, just delivering brochures and collecting orders. The only problem would be that its hard to get people to buy perfume without smelling it!0 -
I would say that if you are looking to start partyplan ask whether the hostess gift is paid for out of your commission. It's all fine and well not having an initial outlay but some companies will recoup this in other ways from your commission.
I work for Silverline Jewellery selling you guessed it Silver Jewellery! There is no initial outlay and you are not expected to pay for hostess gifts. It is a family run business so it's a really friendly company to work for with all the help and support you need. The company has been going about 9 years now but it is still unknown in most areas as the consultants have been mainly based in Scotland until now. The items are gorgeous and of fantastic quality so sell themselves without the need for hard sell. As we do not have targets it means our way of selling is much more relaxed and our customers often comment on that. Our party averages are very good so the potential earnings are great and it never seems like work.
If you have never been to a Silverline party of heard of us I would seriously recommend that you check them out if you are thinking of doing party plan. As we are alot smaller than the other partyplan companies it means your potential number of customers is much higher as there are less consultants.
