KonMari 2018 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

This afternoon we did a long trip round to tip, then to the local Terracycle recycling scheme, then to the local Re-use centre. Managed to get rid of a load of stuff but the Re-use people weren't interested in some ring binders so had to bring them home. Will take to the tip next time. Also managed to rehome some filing trays with a neighbour. Garage is looking a bit tidier.
Have Kondoed our tenant, just got to check the house over to see how that's looking. Up for an early start as will need to load up the car with stuff for a weekend at the house. At least we won't need to bring some of it back with us as we don't intend to rent it out again.Make £2025 in 2025

Usually I can have a lie in till 8am on a Saturday but DD1 is on a school GCSE revision weekend so need to drop her off in a few mins. I am hopefully going to take advantage of this and start as I mean to go on today.
I've a mystery shop to do and the shop opens just at 8 so will do that whilst I am out. Think I'll spend the fee on the pancake stuff for Tues.
No doubt bake later in a break to update the successes. Note that is in plural!Don’t put it down - put it away!

Now that I am at home everyday, it doesn't matter as much how appropriate my make-up is
, so I have finished my bright light blue and my silver eyeliners, and am now finishing my gold

Hi all, not been on for a bit. So sorry for your loss, Mrs Moneypenny..
Today we took down the goal posts that have been in our garden for 10 years.. Put them on FB marketplace and they've sold and left the house already:T DS is a few quid richer.
OH is going on his holibobs on Friday and has decided to take pants and socks that are a little (ahem) past their prime and leave them as he goes...
Slowly, slowly catchee monkey...I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

I quite like that one!
I am not MK's greatest fan... dont boot me off:eek:She is marmitey IMOI found the book irritating and her 'methods' a bit odd and against some personal philosophies. Although I can go along with 'sparks joy' to some extent, I draw the line at thanking my possessions as I pass them on! I am more a William Morris fan which the notion of sparks joy probably stems from I guess:D
HOWEVER there is some "magic" happening:rotfl:.......
We have a large walk in bathroom cupboard. All the bedding and towels are kept in there. Bulk buy toilet rolls, toiletries, cleaning stuff, first aid and medicines. Large quantity of candles and reed diffusers bought in past sales ( lesson learnt!) two large boxes of fabrics. laundry baskets etc etc and practically a partridge in a pear tree:rotfl: Since I started the declutter journey I have emptied and discarded mountains of stuff in that cupboard and within a few days it has always looked full again and almost impossible to find anything...........well last turf out was in January and I have noticed that since then the cupboard and its contents have remained stable - 'everything in its place and a place for everything' I guessing the magic is the we have reached, finally, 'optimum storage' in that place and which probably means 'optimum critical stuff'.... well that is my take on it.
Now I am hoping for the same for the porch - large porch with too much storage capacity. I have yet again gone through all the stuff in there - seriously 15 woolly hats and as many pairs of gloves for every conceivable weather condition and/or outdoor sport you could think of. Of course some are belonging to the DDs who will now get pictures and be asked do you want these. Some stuff I doubt will be missed I have already taken to CSBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

I can seriously tell DD1 is not around as I've not had to ask, or should i say scream, 'who's dumped this here where I've just tidied!'
KD some more grass on the allotment. Bleached part of the backyard.. couldn't do it all as the washing was out and didn't want it getting splashed by bleach. Been to launderette, general tidy and put up three wall hanging that have just been sat patiently waiting to go up.
DD2 also seemed to have liked my homemade pizza cause she's not left me any!Don’t put it down - put it away!

Small kondo's here are the moment - the wood ash delivered to the allotments. A cupboard cleared out and a box of glassware ready for the CS. Some straight beer glasses taken to the sailing club. Over the next few days I'll sort the kibble in the room of doom and add to the CS bag and get rid of it this week and try to hit the paper mountain!
The rubble was got rid of on Friday & I thought ooh! nice clear patio until DH spoke to a neighbour who wants to get rid of his stockpile of wood to be chainsawed for the woodburner.......ah well it will be used........eventually!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
The old fridge has finally gone so I have no excuse now not to clean the backyard! To be fair some bits need to go the allotment. A client cancelled yesterday so I made myself go up and do some weeding for 30 mins. I was quite amazed at how much I got done as I often think it is not worth going!
I've just written a list of things i need to get done today. I'm struggling getting my mojo at the moment and i think part of this is my diet as we have had so much on that we have often been having quick junk food.
Enjoy your day.Don’t put it down - put it away!

Yesterday I took 2 full black bags of clothes from DM's house to the CS, I have the same problem as many in getting heavy things to them because of lack of parking etc. OH dropped me as near as he could and I struggled to carry them the rest of the way, made it, but at the cost of a very painful right hip:(The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.
