Nightowl - well done!! GQ is a fan of the Minimalists too.
Polly I'm the same as you - handcream is a waste during the day for me and I do what GQ suggested. I also use the heaviest cream as it's got 8 hours (if I'm lucky!) to soak in. Working my way through the lotions and potions, too! Now that I have the time in the morning and the evening
The job was very stressful, and it has left its traces, unfortunately. Let's see what I can fix :rotfl:

PollyWollyDoodle, yes I've watched consumed recently. Makes you realise how bad things can get. The most interesting part was how the reduction of stuff improved the relationships in the families.
Last night I rearranged my dining room as I've found a small 2 seater sofa on facebook marketplace to make an extra seating area for when my daughter has friends over and we want to do different things. I found some gift tags I'd lost and identified a whole lot of items to go. – (1) one side table, (2)one shelving unit (totally impractical), (4)a small slow cooker/tagine and a (5)large printer. I have access to a printer at the library and at work so a printer in my dining room is unnecessary. When my little project is completed I will also be rehoming a large ikea desk, a computer tower and a side board. Before this happens I will be finding a tall cabinet to re home and decluttering the side board further.
So one thing in and 5 plus out.

Wihin the last hour, I've been in a charity shop where I spotted a copy of Spark Joy by Marie Kondo - someone has obviously read it and kondo'd it!:rotfl:

Had a successful day have defrosted both freezers, got rid of a single chicken breast with freezer burn, and a single slice of bread no idea how long it had been in there. Freezers were very icy so it's good that they are now clear. Can now buy turkey crown for Christmas.
Also replaced two toilet seats with ones bought a few weeks back. Oh the luxury of soft close! The old ones were stained and not nice.
Booked a holiday for next year, have decided to go with a package in case there's problems following Brexit we'll have somebody to help us hopefully. The holiday booking means I have now been able to finalise my work schedule for 2019 which had got stuck at May.
Kondoed some dust also between other jobs.Make £2025 in 2025

I have been lurking for a long time and saw that book in a charity shop and bought it, to read and not put on my bookcase, I hope it inspires me, you certainly have. I only need time and might start today, at least do my socks, tights, knee highs, footlets. Oh dear I never use footlets because they go into my shoes, that can be the start0

That's a good start, Silverspirit! You'll be amazed at the stuff you find you've kept even though it never gets used.
I took four carrier bags to the CS last week and I'm already filling another one, even though I went through the whole house three years ago there's always something else to go.
Decorating for Christmas was a breeze this year though - I remember putting it off for ages in the past because I didn't want to put up decs before the room was clean and tidy. I did have to do some heavy-duty dusting first, because not even Marie has made me love cleaning :rotfl: As I took stuff out of the crate I keep it in, I found myself thinking 'that doesn't spark joy, it can go' so there should be a bit less to go back, and I hope someone will be thrilled to get some Christmas decorations in the CS.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. With my music station up and running, I am listening to every single cd and tape we own. Anything with a scratch or deformed sound goes into the bin. Three cd's gone, so far.
The tights had come down from the attic to be used again for winter, but DD2 seems to have skipped a size, so seven are already in the donation bag, back in the attic.
I have located some toys in the attic that I can try to sell. They will keep their value, so if I don't make it this year, next year is fine, too. The major giftgiving event here is the day after tomorrow, which is a bit too soon for my deadline averse lifeAre you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
Yesterday was quite productive. We took down the nets, OH cleaned the windows, nets were washed and rehung. I don't know why it's taken me so long, but I realised the easiest way to get them looking tidy in the window is to fold them in half, put a safety pin in at the middle, then hang them. So much easier! I had a good dust round, including taking down some lampshades and giving them a darned good dusting.
We then visited the loft and hoiked out some more blasted paperwork. This time, some of it was actually mine! Out of a whole crate, I kept about 6 pieces of paper. The rest of it was old credit card bills etc that were in a filing box which got put in the loft when we had our extension built 10 years ago, and was forgotten about. OH binned some course work from a course he attended in 1995..... So there's lots of shredding and recycling to go this week. And some old plastic covered folders will have to go to the tip on our next run.
I've just realised that I can probably rehome the filing crate and its hanging files at the reuse centre on Thursday morning.
We are getting towards the point where the loft contains mainly empty boxes for electricals we still own, and which will be used to transport them in when we move again. Plus Christmas decs, suitcases and stuff we want to keep. We discovered some forgotten light fittings we may use in the new house so will keep for now.
There's a box of towels (or so it says on the label) that has come down. Still needs investigating, and a briefcase of mine which needs going through.
Oh, and we had a great debate about a horrid old coolbox, filthy dirty, we haven't used in 15 years (we have a better one). Was hard work persuading OH it could go, but go it will!
We also retrieved a CD rack from the loft and OH has put CDs in it rather than them being in random stacks in his office.

I started :j did the footlets, 13 pairs that I have had for over 3 years and tried just a couple of times. I am going to keep a bag especially for the charity shop, only the ones still in a packet, the worn few are gone. Little steps for me0
