  • Just done my weigh in, another 3 pounds off :j so I'm at 12 stone 2lbs now - hope to see the scales start with an 11 next week :D

Roundtuit - I am glad I have given you hope. I suffered from terrible PND when I had DS (didn't tell anyone, just battled on) and gained so much weight as I ate complete junk to give me that quick fix.

He is nearly 4 now, and I just decided over Christmas I'd had enough. My huge downfall was/is wine as well - I reach for it to relax me quickly when the kids are in bed. Having not had a wine for 3 weeks now I can honestly say the taste of it doesn't appeal (I like rose, so quite sweet).

Keep on keeping on lass - you CAN and WILL break the cycle.

Dizzy - dig those scales out chick and go for it. We will all root for you xx

Two big dog walks done and school run done on foot. I've paid loads of business bills for DH, made the chilli for dinner and set the DW going. xx

    Good luck roundtuit. X

LR, DR and kitchen dusted and vacc'd. All was well overdue, especially the kitchen , which hasn't really been touched since pre-festivities. The utility room will have to wait a bit although I did show it a wet cloth so that it knew what it was missing. Kitchen floor mopped, bins retrieved from the street and more recycling removed. Gibble rehoused / binned including half a chip(???) and a pair of Santa earrings. Neither of which were mine. If I chant Valli's mantra often enough, one day they will take notice, right?

Coffee to be made if anyone cares to join me :coffee:. Then I need to sort a couple of phone calls and emails.

    Afternoon already!

Well done to all who have decluttered lbs, flown or just survived.
Hope the conversation went well, Roundtuit.

    This morning I have
    - drunk tea
    - S&S'd kitchen
    - done WMx2
    - hung washing on airer (TD'd but needs to be bone dry)
    - decluttered litres of blood for my test: only had to wait about 15 minutes today :)
    - took some college books with me to the horse piddle and decided what I needed to photocopy for future reference before I return them
    - decluttered another 2.5 lb at SW - that's over halfway towards my wannabe slinky :D
    - drunk coffee and eaten a late breakfast
    - persuaded DH to help me fold up the old duvet cover
    - done the photocopying

Now about to get lunch and then I must be off for my xrays. Rosie would prefer a walk now, while the sun is shining - we're expecting snow this evening, and it's bound to get colder later this afternoon.

Afternoon all - snowing here on and off but not settling so far, thank goodness

Those trying to give up sugar etc - stick with it ! It really does get easier the longer you try. Don't forget that fruit contains sugar and if you want something sweet at least you're getting some nutrients - though don't go mad. After a couple of weeks you should start feeling better. I now find that I can occasionally have a sweet treat but definitely don't need another :D

  • Ekk! I thought yesterday would be easy! Spent the morning helping DS1 and managed to half sweep the floor! This morning i've washed my work jacket and put a load of dark's in. Dried the towels from yesterday. I've fed DS1 and myself breakfast and lunch (now that's a miracle, i usually survive on 1 meal).

In a way it's good to hear about the sugar. I was hoping to lose weight/exercise more this year. The only thing i have done so far is cut the sugar out of my tea. I can drink 10/20 cups a day, 2 sugars in each. I've last 2lb just from that over the last 2 weeks but i've been in a vile, vile mood! Hopefully that explains it and it will wear off soon.

Right, I am going to move and clean the kitchen!

No way LW can you get expelled. We'd all miss you and your posts too much anyways. Once every ten days may work much better for you - there's only two humans living there. I know exactly what you mean by 'toilet smell' and agree it's gross.
Unfortunately for me, I have a very keen sense of smell; so I notice pongs that Mr LW is oblivious to.
As for only two humans - that's true, but we also get a lot of dog hair! :D

I put a smitherin of jam on my wholemeal toast as I'm trying to meet my brain half-way ;)
    <SNIP>
Crawl with the ball, Round, crawl with the ball!!
There's jam and then there's jam. Are you talking sugar, more sugar, turnips for bulk, and possibly had a strawberry waved over it, or are you talking just strawberries and sugar and a little lemon juice to help it set? ;)
If it's any consolation, I'm inching the ball forwards with my walking sticks. :D

I've decluttered a largish quantity of OOD emails; mainly to do with dog-sitting bookings that are now in the past. Does this count as Flying? ;)

Decluttered anther meet'n'greet visit last night - pretty little Shih Tzu. Just got to wait and see if it results in a booking.

Done a sort of meal plan (not sure which day will be pizza; I will switch meals around so that we have that the same day I need to make bread as I use the BM for both).

Filled up the bird feeders when I saw Walter (our resident wood pigeon) jumping on the small one hoping to dislodge seed, but having no luck because it was empty.

Typed up Buddy & Indi's information ready to print out and pin to the side of the fridge when they come for their holiday. (Theirs was the meet'n'greet we did on Saturday; they are two delightful Cavapoos).
I do this for all canine guests, because with the best will in the world, I cannot remember all the details for every single one of them.

Now we know Buddy and Indi will definitely be coming, I need to plan for us to eat out of the freezer more rather than keep it stocked full, so that there's a drawer available for their BARF diet.

We have to go into town shortly, as Mr LW has an appt with the optician - so that'll be a declutter of £££ as I know for a fact he needs new spectacles. Will visit the F&V market while we're there, as we're almost out of spuds.

I could not drink tea without sugar.. and I drink tea or vodka.. so I'm sticking with the tea for obvious reasons! I have substituted crisps for baby snacks.. they do carrot and lentil sticks which are really nice and don't hate me.
I am struggling on where to start other than cutting out the evening piggery.. I was looking at a hip brace to see if that might help but I dont want to get one and it not help.. they arent cheap.. and I looked at *gulp* exercises to strengthen hips.. but I couldn't do any of them as my movement is too restricted and painful. I looked at a personal trainer but they are expensive and if I can't do the basic stuff it would be a waste of time.. I'm not considering it but I read about the hypnosis 'gastric bands' .. has anyone tried them or considered giving it a go? It sounds interesting if it works.. I suppose it is just working on habit breaking the same way as it would potentially help with stopping smoking or whatever..

I am also feeling brave and looking at giving the hair dresser a go.. my hair is an unholy mess and I feel scruffy so aren't really willing to make any effort.. I've only been once, about 11 years ago and I was not impressed.. I hated being touched and I hated it when it was done and I came home and cut it myself so it was the same as it always was.. and it hasn't been touched since.

I need to go collect girls shortly.. but the good news is it is Tuesday which is beans and toast night and Pixie can go to bed super-early! The other 2 have ice skating lessons at 6.

I have 30 minutes before I have to leave so off to do a speedy HHC..

    Laundry shuffle
    DW
    TD
    binbag dance

quick check through a box for a cheque I misplaced.. it is £60 I would like to get in bank!

Cheque-finding vibes for you Piggers. And good luck with the hairdresser; the last time I tried one was over 30 years ago, and I had a full-on panic attack. Nowadays Mr LW colours it for me and keeps the ends trimmed. :A

I can't cut much more sugar out of my diet; I already drink tea and coffee unsweetened, and if I want a cold drink I have tapwater. Other than stopping eating completely, I'm stymied.

    Laters, folks. ;)

We have been invited to a wedding in Devon at the end of August. Sorted childcare no problem but accommodation costs  even a pitch on a campsite is dear! Sleeping in the car has been a seriously considered option!

Whereabouts in Devon, ATB? I can think of a few options in or near Plymouth that aren't too  but if it's around the bank holiday weekend that's about as expensive as it could possibly be.

Absolutely, they flit about and are beautiful! So what, you put daffodils out in a vase for them?.......I'll do them an arrangement!
Incidentally, although I do have niger seed out, my goldfinches (and they are numerous) prefer sunflower kernels.

Thanks for that and I Am An Idiot! I phrased that really, really badly - he gave me them to thank me for attracting them! I've just got peanuts, fatballs and nyger seeds out there. I used to put sunflower hearts out but the pigeon numbers increased so much I stopped and so now we're back to only a dozen or so getting the nyger cast offs, which I limit to a minimum by using a pigeon spacer. (One of the other neighbours has become very odd and abusive recently and is taking out his rage on me for encouraging birds into the garden so I think the daffodil one is trying to balance it out a bit. Hey ho.)

I'm watching them as I type - they do flit, don't they. They're after the fatballs. I thought they'd been going through rather a lot lately, now I know why.

Freezer stockchecked for mealplanning for February, Kelpie taken to hydrotherapy, Morribunds run done and all the stuff put away - first proper shop since before Christmas. Ground floor vacuummed - it was done on Sunday, he was groomed professionally yesterday and yet it's still knee-deep in black fluff. Still, as someone was leaving over the weekend they said, 'You're so lucky Kelpie and Devil Cat (sic) don't shed.' !!!!!
    Better is good enough.

    Thank you for the lists.

    Hope all are well
Currently clearing airing cupboard between shifts - need to head back to work now for afterschool shift
Had a major blitz round mils so she's reasonably tidy now but I need to get back to doing it every week I think which is going to be difficult with all the hours I'm doing at work.
Did another big CS run on Saturday for dd she had loads of DVDs to cull

Still waiting for the new dgc to arrive I think I'm more impatient than my dd.
