*jumps up and down with glee*

I have working taps in the bathroom on the basin...woohooo!! It's been 3 years since they last worked as DH told me last night..lol The plumber put nice fancy taps on the basin and a gorgeous mixer one on the bath, and then he redid the sealant around the edges and put beading around it. It looks all smart and shiny, like a new bath suite :D

I spent part of the morning cleaning my cooker nooks and crannies on the outside, and removing all the icky stuff between the worktop and cooker.. I won't say what stuff was there but I swear I had created new life...lol Then I moved onto the the cupboard doors and cleaned them thoroughly as well as the floor getting a good scrub. :D Then when my plumber went home I cleaned the bathroom within an inch of it's life. :D
I think my flu might be disappearing..or at least easing off a bit..lol

Awful, awful evening - been in floods of tears and had a proper meltdown. Taken Diazepam as that was the only option I had cos J had to go out and I needed to be safe. Going to bed now; stinking headache, eyes tiny slits in puffy face etc and I just feel drained. Hey ho, tomorrow's a new day.

We've postponed my birthday trip to the bowling alley and a meal out and are taking a 'snow-check' on it, hoping weather next week is better. It's just not worth risking the drive.

I have said that I'm not doing much tomorrow - DH can defrost soup for lunch and I'll make a favourite smoked salmon/pasta dish for dinner (it's easy and doesn't take long) and I'll defrost the black forest gateaux we didn't have xmas. We've also a bottle of kir royale (xmas pressie) so I'll pop that in the 'fridge. :D

    Put some clothes away.
Logged meter readings onto web site.
    Went to Mr S.
Gave car a treat and took it through carwash on our way to the cinema.

Sympathise with those who have food-related symptoms; if I eat wheat I just want to lock myself in a dark cupboard and the world has to go away and leave me. Potatoes give me terrible stomach cramps - and you find something in the Freefrom section which doesn't replace wheat with potato starch!! If I had a £ for every time I've tried to explain that I'm absolutely fine with gluten, but cannot tolerate wheat. Oats and barley are absolutely fine. End of rant.

Continued success for all slinkies.....send me some please.

Happy birthday :bdaycake:Lynne...hope I've got it right!
((Hugs)) to Mumof2. I hope today is a better day.

Dratted white stuff has returned, and although I'm not going out to work, I did promise to take DD, her 3 bags and her guitar into school. It doesn't look too bad, so fingers crossed that it is better as I get out of the village. The plan was to go to the allotment as my exercise to try to kick start this whole Slinky challenge. Oh well, coffee and lists instead then!

I started sorting out some photos last night from a suitcase in the spare room. They were my mum's and I haven't really made any headway in the 6 years since she died. Yesterday for some reason I felt I could, and I can no longer see a reason to keep a blurry picture of a tree in some garden or other that she visited. Hopefully I can continue today and a few more bits will have left the hovel.

Have a good day, and stay safe and warm.
  • Morning all,

Big hugs Mumof2 I really hope today is better for you xx

Have a fab day Lynne :) xx

DH went at 5.30, he's now away until Friday. Kiddies are dressed and fed, and I've set the DW going. Will also put the WM on shortly. We will drive to school as there is snow lying on the ground and it's very very windy. When I get back from the school run I have a list of LOADS of things I want to get done, so will be doing several HHCs interspersed with tea breaks.

    Will report back later xx

Happy Birthday, Lynne! Enjoy your smoked salmon pasta - can we have the recipe, please :)

College was exhausting yesterday evening - such a complicated subject and far beyond my thinking ability any time after 8 pm. Since the second half of the double lecture doesn't end until 9.30, that's not good.

X-rays were done in super-quick time with only a 5-minute wait. Thank you NHS.

I managed to clear most things off the study bedroom floor yesterday as I packed my bag for college :j

(((Hugs))) Mumof2, I hope things look better this morning x

Roundtuit, well done on standing up for yourself and getting the result you wanted.

Great news, Natty - it's lovely to "see" you smiling after all you've been through in recent months :)

Pigpen, I meant to say that that photo of the girls is fab.

    My plan for today:
    - finance check
    - emails
    - phonecalls
    - throw soup for lunch into the SC
    - S&S kitchen
    - put away aired washing and S&S bathroom
    - clear the rest of the study bedroom floor and sort the papers that are currently spread over the bed (I will do the desk tomorrow)
    - dust upstairs
    - ask DH to hoover upstairs
    - visit a friend who is ill (that will probably be 3 hours out of my day)
    - deliver a card and a (separate) letter
    - take Rosie for her walk
    - do some study reading
    - reheat HM lasagne for tea
    - go to church council meeting this evening

Hope everyone has a productive day, or a good rest if that's what you need x

    Morning

    Natty new taps wey hey
Fayolle I did this with my mothers photos, I got I think 6 shoes boxes, one for brother, sister, myself, animals, mother, general, divided the photos up so if my brother was in the photo it went in his box and so on, the general heap was of all of us, I then 'dealt' these ones out one per box till I got to the end. It was however a complete history of my late mother's life, including her school trips when she was about 14 or so...........
I then delivered said box to brother and sister.............less clutter for me. I also
    scanned all the photo.

    DW is on
    Bed is made
    Kitchen is done
Downstairs is all hoovered, bag less thingy emptied.

    Small shopping list made.
