Welcome back Gilly
sorry to hear you had the bug too.
Had a busy day - distress call from my friend's hubby...his car has died - could I come and get their kids and take them to school? Yes, no probs...dash off from school to scoop up tiddlers and back to gate crash assembly to deliver them, albeit rather late. All good - school lunches ordered and after school clubs booked.
Carpenter needed personal advice (? - why ask me????) on his dreadful childcare/ex-partner situation. Erm...I'm not exactly the best person to ask for relationship advice...
I rang and amended our bedroom furniture order to include a king-sized bed, rather than the double, I thought we had. Paid the extra money and made pointless small talk with the sales girl who was determined to tell me about her new puppy. Don't get me wrong - I love dogs (rather cross that Ridgebacks were only ranked 77th in the top 100 breeds on the TV show yesterday, because actually they are absolutely the best hounds, like, ever...) but listening about the new bejewelled collar and pink coat/jacket thingy was a bit boring.
I genuinely couldn't fly in the hallway as the chippie was building me a cupboard to house the manifold and pump for the underfloor heating. I did some internet "research" instead.
Week two of the childcare completed and a large glass of red wine now in my sweaty paws...
Hugs Mumof2 - hang in there girlfriend x0 -
Evening all, really struggling with my flying this week. Combination of insomniac toddler and a D&v bug.
I'm not even properly on top of the washing which is unusual for me.
However, thanks to my utterly amazing (if I do say so myself) flying last week my living room is still a clutter free haven and most of the rest of the house will become more ship shape with a half hour focus, if I try really hard. (Maybe tomorrow evening)
Paid work yesterday put the spanner in my plans. I was hoping to have some 'down time' in the afternoon to do a MAD half hour in the office, but I ended up working right to the finish line in order that I don't need to do the extra day I had planned to do next week.
Tomorrow, as a minimum I need to, get on top of the washing, return the things that have migrated around the house and sort a meal plan that involves little to no shopping. If I can do that, then Friday nap time should be good for a proper flight.
Night all

Morning all,
Up at silly o’clock with DS who was awoken by the howling winds we have here. He is now fast asleep again but I’ve given up trying. Will let myself have a snooze later.
Plans for the day include finally touching that paint up, volunteering, dog walks and some paid stuff for DH. First though - a brew.
Back later have lovely mornings all xxMFW

Morning,
I seem to have been awake most of the night as well listening to howling winds. The rest of the fence is now a flatpack. DH has gone to work, but has had to drive around fallen trees.
I have a full day at work today but I am so frustrated as it will be unproductive, being largely taken up by 2 meetings. Both are necessary evils but when your working week is 4 hours, you don't need the small talk.
HHI cleared, and toilets and basins cleaned. The shower will have to wait until I get home. I have actually made a salad to take to work today. I don't usually bother as I cling to the hope that I will be home by lunchtime. Never am, so when I get in I reward myself on carbs. No more!
As to the veggie discussion - I would always choose a veggie option over a meat one, but am not vegetarian. I quite like the challenge of making different veggie meals that everyone will eat, but couldn't stick to a vegan diet when DD wanted to try that. However I think we probably eat 3 or 4 meat free meals a week as a family. DD likes Qu0rn whereas I am not a lover of that and can't stand tofu. But the Qu0rn mince chilli the other night was eaten by all, and DH didn't even notice!
Right, must go - the first meeting is at 8.15am:eek:0 -
Morning all, and welcome back Gilly
Hope you feel better soon, Wish.
Tell that baby to get a move on, mrs-mp!
Thank you for pointing me towards the recipe, Lynne. It will need tweaking for SW, but looks delicious!
We had howling winds when I got up at about 4.00 pm, but I managed to go back to sleep and all is calm now - just a few large twigs off the ash tree strewn on our lawn. Rosie refused to go out in the garden late last night because of the rain, so I must send her out soon, but she's curled up warm and happy in a corner on the half landing and won't budge until she thinks she will, except to roll over and present her tummy for stroking as we go past!
Right, I need to get some work done this morning. DH hoovered all through yesterday, and our bedroom is tidyHad an awful meeting at church last night - financial worries and lack of communication - so I've ended up with a few extra bits of admin.
- send texts and make a couple of phonecalls
- put stew in SC for tea
- S&S kitchen; steam mop floor
- steam mop floor DR and hall
- S&S bathroom; steam mop floor
- spot clean LR and stair carpets
- write agenda and sort papers for this afternoon
- print out 3x booklet for meeting
- finish clearing papers off bed and desk, filing and updating as I go
- take Rosie for a walk before lunch (DH will also take her for a shorter one later)
- Toddler Group planning meeting 2.30 - 3.30
- college reading
Best get going! See you later. (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed x0 -

Huge congratulations on the classroom assistants certificate, Mrs MP! And the blanket sounds lovely, but wow! 10 balls!!!
Kelpie likes a good old cuddle and tummy rub first thing, too, Ionafan. I love him being so happy and confident that he'll get a trundle, so he has to collect the strokes first.
Today might be a full day volunteering because there are a couple of things I want to get done before they become a frog there. Back to Mount Wash More later - rain forecast as far as the forecast can go so I'm going to have to use the TD, regrettably.Better is good enough.0 -

Although part of the problem was [strike]crashing out[/strike] falling heavily asleep in a weird position which has inflamed my neck and caused a huge migraine all day.
The majority of the problem, however, was quite clearly copious quantities of assorted alcohols when I my usual level of consumption is 0-4 units a week.
Poor you - having the hangover from hell on the 2nd jan, I fully sympathise, hope the neck and migraine are all better now
as for assorted alcohols ... well that's decluttering isn't it0
