Unable to sleep last night - upset stomach, then DH woke me at 5:30 to tell me garden wall had come down in the storm - damage isn't that bad but its really not worth claiming on insurance - so he's home from work - not entirely sure what he is doing but what started a little bit of damage is starting to look bigger, so he is home today and threatening tomorrow as well. Nooooooo!

DD unable to go into college as tree blown onto track, so she's at home driving me nuts

Dog is whining at patio doors cos DH left her inside whilst he plays brickie

not what i had planned for my thursday morning, as you can see i have taken advantage and read the entire thread x

house is straight, tidy, neat, have been working on our bedroom all week - we were gifted some wardrobes and chest of drawers, realised that the wardrobes would not fit so have taken them all apart and carried them downstairs, decluttered wardrobes and merged mine and dh's, this allowed me to get rid of one (which I am putting in DS's room but need to change the doors over as well), now have a lovely bit dressing table area, well once wardrobe is removed from middle of bedroom

Flymarketeers - have been stashing money in tin, so that's happy with that x

let's hope there is very little garlic/onion in the quorn products..
Don't know if this will help: I think if you check the basic quorn mince first then have a look at the rest. Good luck with it.

made pointless small talk with the sales girl who was determined to tell me about her new puppy. Don't get me wrong - I love dogs (rather cross that Ridgebacks were only ranked 77th in the top 100 breeds on the TV show yesterday, because actually they are absolutely the best hounds, like, ever...) but listening about the new bejewelled collar and pink coat/jacket thingy was a bit boring.
My immediate reaction on reading this was "Poor pup! How embarrassing for him/her to have to wear bling". :D I'll talk dogs til the cows come home, but I'd find the bling/pink coat boring, too.

what kind of flooring have you got LameWolf? I kept smelling horrible piddle smell in our downstairs loo, blamed the 8 year old who does love to wave it about , I steamed floor them poured some neat zoflora on the grout around the toilet and this did the trick, hope that helps x

are you sure its not that your senses are heightened due to the fatigue - mine get really bad - currently its lights, walking around bumping into everything because i can't bear to have lights on lol
We have carpet tiles (cos I go barefoot at all times indoors), and a pedestal mat in front of the loo which is washed very frequently. At least a part of the problem is that Mr LW's aim is suspect, I think - as witness the "strange substance" that appears on an amazingly regular basis along the bit of porcelain behind the seat hinges (iyswim).
And yes, my senses are heightened; I have always had a very good sense of smell, and these days, if Mr LW switches the hall light on at night, I have to shut my eyes and feel my way along the hall, as I can't cope with the sudden light.

Mumof2 I hope you're ok hun; I wasn't around yesterday (we did the postponed-from-Monday trip to Bletchley Park) so only just seen your posts.

I was hoping to do a module of my online course today; but Mr LW is researching disabled facilities in/around Dublin (for our holiday) and keeps reading out bits to me, so no chance of me concentrating on my course. He means well, but he's driving me demented - why can't he just copy'n'paste it to an OpenOffice document for me to look at later if it's that vital that I read it??

I shall therefore hie me to the kitchen and have the removable bits of the gas hob off for a good clean. ;)

Not the best of days at work, and I came home with a headache which I'm trying to declutter now. I also know that I will be awake during the night replaying some of the work stuff in my head. I was intending to clean the shower when I got in, but that hasn't happened. Flying this evening will be restricted to cooking dinner and clearing up afterwards.

Well done Mrs M-P on the distinction :T

    Reporting back.....

The whole of the gas oven - hob, grill, oven, glass door (complete with removable inner glass) has been cleaned. And the underneath of both frying pans has been scrubbed, as there seemed to be a bit of a build-up of grease.

And I have worked out our route for our holiday; part of it was easy, we'll be sailing from Holyhead, and I already have a route from when we stayed on Holy Island in 2013. ;) We're staying overnight at the same motel, so only needed to plot motel to ferry, and ferry to hotel the other side (plus return routes).
The holiday isn't for a few months yet, but there's no harm in getting organised. ;)

ETA: Dr Wolf prescribes an early night with some light fiction to read, Fayolle and try not to fret over work, you won't get any thanks or extra pay for worrying over it. x

  • Ooh I love a bit of holiday planning LW, especially when it's grey and cold.

Woke up to snow. DS works high up on the moors and managed to get to work (down a steep hill) but couldnt get out again. I have been worrying about him on and off all day. He has abandoned his car someone safe and off the road and got a lift to meet me at job no. 2. Roll on spring.

DH didnt get to work either but has spent most of the day cleaning, the house looks lovely so I dont have anything to do which is lovely.

I do need to look at our finances though, hae just paid one garage bill and waiting for the next one to come in.

Hi roundtuit - I am bipolar was diagnosed last January but misdiagnosed with depression for years - the big dog caught me before xmas - luckily with my meds, meditation and loved ones i dragged myself out before it got out of hand.

It could be the sugar withdrawal - I got this horrendously when i joined slimming world last august - (hubby got it too when I got rid of all his chocolate treats, only he didn't know lol)

Hang in there - fresh air helps - you will start to feel better once the healthy stuff overcome the sugar withdrawals and you will feel better

    much love x

Thank you Donna xx I've been asked in the past if I am bi-polar, but I've never been diagnosed with anything other than depression and anxiety. I've never been to see a doctor when I'm in Tigger mode - I just sort of accept that I'm a Tigger / Eeyore type of person. The sudden crash last week was very un-nerving but I'm determined to keep on with the slinky challenge. By the way, my name is Donna in the real world too :D

First day back at work today in the 'new' office - it was wonderfully quiet and I had no problems getting my IT and phone up and running, so I got lots done. Two people told me they are struggling with the noise in the other room too: maybe I've started a trend!

Flying: I've brought in the general waste bin and the recycling boxes - my blue box (for paper) has just about disintegrated: it cracked when work men 'rested' their scaffolding planks on it years ago, and I suspect that today the bin men tipped out all those Home Health Fact File pages on to the cracked edge and it gave up the ghost. I'll look in to obtaining a replacement... wonder whether you can recycle a recycling box?:D I've also made the bed; fed the birds; put out the recycling; oh and last night I went through my emails and decluttered my in-box.

    Every little helps,

    Rxx
