We can all view the thread, but cant comment.
I tried to play around with the posts to see if I could move them to a new thread, but I can only do this per page, and its would take me an age.
I may though be able to do from the beginning of January and the first page with the links on it..
If this is an alternative then let me know.

That might work Westie, the thread was huge (thanks Special_Saver2!) but that hugeness, coupled with the fact that most of the body of the thread was out of date, may have put people off. I think I remember someone posting that they thought the thread completely out of date, having not noticed that Special_Saver2 regularly updated the first post. It may be a lot of people got confused in the same way.
So, whilst I can see why we regulars (and Special_Saver2) might have been happy with it as it was - and it was a huge achievement - it might be better to rebuild it using the recent updates and start afresh. But I'd still like to see the old thread available - even if locked. That has been, I think, the custom on MSE - a new thread replacing the theme of an old one but still referencing the old one and linking to it.0 -

you should be able to see a read-only cached copy (of certain pages!) at the links given earlier - which were

There have been a few threads that have gone walkabouts - usually very big ones. They don't seem to be able to recover them - at least not the ones I was involved in previouslyI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

I just came on to the forum to update my Regular Savings thread - the one entitled "Regular Savings Accounts: The Best Currently Available List!" (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/608697) and it has vanished!
I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank Special_Saver2 for all the hard work that has gone into maintaining that extremely valuable Regular Savings Accounts list.
I just tried to access it and was gobsmacked to discover that it had disappeared......
Why?
Please put it back MSE!0 -

Hear, hear. One of the most useful and reliable threads ever, certainly on the Savings & Investments board.
At times, some of the readers got carried away and lept into irrelevant discussions but this is outside the control of the thread originator and we could all just scroll by these, with or without asking people to stick to the subject of the thread.
I hope that the thread can either be re-instated, or that Special_Saver2 can be persuaded to start a new one.0 -
There's a thread about it on the Site feedback sub-forum.
It looks like it just takes a few clicks of the spam button to permanently and irrecoverably delete any thread, even the most popular ones.0 -
The link below is a clearer cached view of the first page.
Edit: Apologies, but the link has stopped working so I have deleted it.0 -

Hmm, that isn't what the spam button description says, as I've replied there.
I can't see why anyone would report it anyway. If the thread takes up a bit of space, later posts in it could easily be removed without any impact, such as my message about a Furness account change a couple of years ago, redundant once SS2 had edited a post near the top.0 -
Maybe that thread was under the supervision of a certain person in Hawaii?Free the dunston one next time too.0
