Has anyone been told just how many 'forumites mistakingly pressing the Spam button' it takes for the thread to be deleted permanently?
And is it a pure total or x in y time period? If its the former then that's a very risky IT build strategy for long running threads.0 -
Sad news ;(
I have had a email back saying the thread will not be resurrected.
I have been told we can still view the thread, so can copy down the details from the old thread and start a new one...
I have no idea what has happened, but it wont be back

I have moved the first few posts from the old thread to a new one and emailed SS2 so they are aware. Just in case it goes into oblivion completely

The best I can do, as the thread will not be resurrected as per the email I got from MSE towers.

Surely it's not too difficult to simply start a new thread with the old one's information, effectively reinstating it?
SS2 should be making an offline backup copy of the headline posts including any embedded codes.
Vast majority of the comments would be obsolete anyway so that's no big deal.
A simple edit/copy/paste text file of the posts, updated weekly or fortnightly, would suffice.
Maybe they've decided it's impacting their revenue and chopped it..'We don't need to be smarter than the rest; we need to be more disciplined than the rest.' - WB0 -
From SS2's original post, I am wondering if it is only board guides who are able to view the thread. Can everyone see the original thread?
Edit: Thanks for the new thread.0 -

I have done what I can, better then starting completely again but not as good as having the 350 off page thread...

Is it still 'Work In progress' as I can see lots of duplicate postings in it?
Sorted it, I was having open two tabs open to be able to copy the posts across and some of this thread was pulled across.
I have tidied it up now.

Maybe a cache thing with me then as posts #1 and #2 are the same. Posts #3 and #4 are the same etc.
Will check later today.
Thanks to you and SS2 for sorting this.0 -
From SS2's original post, I am wondering if it is only board guides who are able to view the thread. Can everyone see the original thread?
Edit: Thanks for the new thread.
If it is still visible to people with moderation rights, some called board guides here and admin staff, as opposed to completely removed from the database (either option was possible when deleting) then it can be reinstated0
