    Fiscal Fast - Part 2 - Day 1

Yesterday we celebrated the wedding of my darling DS - so awesome

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me in achieving our financial goals. We were able to give my DS1 and DIL a handsome amount of honeymoon spending money. We were also able to buy / hire beautiful clothes and our budget stretched to everything that was needed.

..and so today we start a new chapter in our fast, our DD1's wedding in the US.

Our savings have nearly all gone and so the purse has to grow cobwebs and the selling on ebay HAS to restart with a vengeance :rotfl:

..and so to celebrate another NSD

  • Lovely photos. Well done - and having done it once, you know you can do whatever is needed to get there for your DD's wedding.

Mmm, I think I've got this fasting ALL wrong :rotfl:

I'm meant to be SAVING money and not spending it but today we needed a weekly shop whilst we are staying up here in Yorkshire. We are staying until the end of the week looking after our gorgeous Grandchildren whilst my DS and DIL are having a minimoon

Now you could forgive me for spending on a weekly shop but NOT for buying a new mobile phone :o I have had a brick phone for years and it has really suited me. However with our DD2 staying with us, she has opened my eyes to the endless uses of a mobile which are not intrusive and will help me better to keep in touch with our ever growing family (whatsapp etc)

    Fiscal Fast - Part 2 - Day 3

We had a low cost day today enjoying a fabulous walk in Heaton woods which is stunning.

On the way home we called into a local charity shop and bought one item for re-sale and a present for my DGD1 birthday.

Slowly but surely we are getting our spending back under control :D

    Fiscal Fast - Part 2 - Day 4

Making the best of what Yorkshire has to offer, we had a wonderful afternoon at the riverside park in Otley where we had a picnic, the children played in the playground and we fed the ducks

    So....a NSD

    Fiscal Fast - Part 2 - Day 5

Our Grandchildren were at the childminders today so I made the most of meeting up with long cherished friends.

In the morning I had a swim and lunch with a bestie and in the afternoon (after we collected the Grandchildren) we took them to a play centre and met up with another friend. which was brilliant

Total cost for a fabulous catch up with friends....just under £12 including two hours of fun for the children (my friend treated me to lunch)

    Fiscal Fast - Part 2 - Day 6

Once again our Grandchildren were at the childminders so I took the opportunity to catch up with two sets of friends firstly at Wetherspoons and secondly at a local Christian cafe where I had lunch

I think I've spent my entertainment budget for the rest of the year :rotfl:

Oh and in between the socialising I called in at a local charity shop and picked up a huge box of Duplo which will be for resale

    Fiscal Fast - Part 2 - Day 7

Another morning of catching up with long held friends before meeting my DH's family in the afternoon.

Our friends live near Ilkley which have amazing charity shops and so it would have been rude not to have picked visited them :rotfl: There was nothing to be had so we called in at another on the way home and picked up 1 item for re-sale at a grand sum of £3 so a LSD today :D

We have had THE most fantastic two weeks away celebrating my DS wedding and my Mum's 80th birthday :D

We have loved and laughed SO much.

We are on our way home now and looking forward to seeing the sea and walking on the beach

....and guess what....yes, a NSD :j We haven't stopped for food this time as we don't want to prolong the journey.

So, I've had a fab few weeks, what have you been up to?
