    Fiscal Fast Day 177

Just a cheeky little spend on Amazon for Alfie Boe's Classic Quadrophenia - £5.25 but a very happy bunny at work on Thursday listening to this awesome album whilst dusting :D

    Fiscal Fast Day 178

My favourite day of the week as it combines all the things I LOVE
    1. Bargain Hunting
    2. Buying to re-sell on ebay
    3. People watching
    4. Community spirit

It was a cracking boot sale today - a super mixture of re-sale and home. A great example of purchases for home was
    Bag of grapes - £1
    10 yellow peppers - £1
    12 apricots - £1

There's not much you can't get at Rosudgeon :)

    Fiscal Fast Day 179

Just 90p today on 10 assorted cards from The Works. Yes only 90p, what an absolute bargain and good quality too :D

They are usually 10 cards for a £1 but because I was picking up an order, I was offered 10% off anything in store and you know how I love a bargain....I couldn't resist

    Fiscal Fast Day 180

Gulval Car Boot Sale brought a mixture of keep and re-sale items but it was still a LSD.

Again the weather is scorching down here so at 4pm we hit the beach and had a sea swim

    Weekend Question

Do you have any hints or tips on keeping your petrol / diesel bills down?

As we live in a rural location, our nearest bus stop is 1 1/2 miles away so using the bus is not an easy option.

Our fuel bill is quite high so we would really appreciate any suggestions you might have

Hi re the fuel bill try not to use the brake unless you have to and gently depress it I use clutch and gears to slow down and often roll to a stop if I can Sounds daft but it does work and change up asap when driving .I remember my driving instructor at BSM back in 1962 telling me to brake as though I was gently treading on a toe ,never stamp :)And don't carry too much in your car to overload it and check your tyre pressures are correct I keep mine just very slightly over the supposed pressure.
    Hope this helps

Hi, depending where I'm going, one of the bus stops is 3 miles from my home so I drive to the bus stop, park there and take the bus for the rest of the journey. This greatly reduces the petrol I use.

Also the air conditioning uses a lot of fuel so I only use it when absolutely necessary. Although I was told by a car mechanic that it's important to run the air conditioning for a couple of minutes every now and again.

    Hope this helps xx

First food shop of the month, and got lots of Y/S stuff which filled up my fridge and fruit bowl ,spent a grand total of £13.48 with more than enough to last me for the next 7-10 days

Really pleased with the haul, lots of fruit and veg, and even some meat, got a nice bit of sirloin steak for £1.07, which was big enough to cut into two bits so that went into the freezer for a couple of 'treat' meals at some point this month, and a piece of salmon as well for 80p which will make a nice dinner with steamed veg.

    That's amazing JackieO :T

NSD today ,more than enough from my haul on Saturday thank goodness. I am poaching a couple of rock hard conferance pears today in a little water and honey with cinnamon to make a pudding to go into the fridge.
I have some mango sorbet in the freezer which will go very nicely with them as well. The pears were huge and rock hard so once poached and cooled they will do for at last two puddings from the fridge

    JackieO xx

    Sounds delicious :D

My hubby is infuriating when it comes to driving on his brakes - he really is like a bull in a china shop! Always last minute breaking

I'm like you JackieO - it is far less stressful driving like this. Thanks for the hints and tips :D
