I reported an abandoned vehicle to DVLA, ot was SORN but parked on the road, after 4-5 weeks of nothing I reported it to the council, 1 week later DVLA came around and clamped it. I don't know whether it was a coincidence or whether the council asked DVLA to come out.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Actually, pushing it out in to the road making it an abandoned car causing an obstruction would get it moved!
You don't have to damage it by moving it. Obviously it depends how big this car is...
Sorry, I missed that stupid suggestion. You don't have to cause damage for it to be a criminal offence.0 -
It might be a good idea to inform the council, about their new tenants behaviour and their abandoned car. You could make it anonymous if you wished.0

Given the act states destroy or damage you’ll need to explain.0 -

Could you please explain? I have no idea how bouncing someone's car out into the road by a meter is a criminal offence?
I was unaware of this so perhaps you can quote me the correct law?
We (me and some friends) have done this before many years ago in Oxford and the untaxed car was quickly removed! Parking is like gold dust in Oxford. We knew vaguely who the car belonged to but he had gone abroad for good.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
What about all the latest ads I kept hearing "tax it or lose it".

It is a V5 lottery. If the address on the V5 indicates that the fine isn't going to be paid, and the car isn't worth £10,000 they are not going to waste the money sending the clamping or lifting team round because they won't make a profit (and will likely lose the clamp too)
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Report it to the council as abandoned. Give them the reg no and they will check its road legal status. Untaxed often means uninsured so its likely to be clamped with a view to removal.biffchipandkipper wrote: »I looked into options with the local authority but it looks like they would only take action if the vehicle is 'abandoned'.0
