Pie & peas unrecordings hope they're proper boiled peas with a splash of malt vinegar with them

Leo's with vinegar and Henderson's Relish
I should opt for Batchelor's rather than Leo's, but I don't think Batchelor's are made in Sheffield anymore. When we could not longer get Leo's from our local grocer, I ended up getting a catering bundle off t'internet

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?

Looks chilly out despite the sun, heating clicked on which I suspect will continue until Spring now. If I CBA I'd re-programme the thermostat to my "now retired" times & not "at work" timing

Maybe when I replace the batteries which must be due to conk out as soon as a cold wet & windy arrives:(

The YS stew was fine, but later I had some cheese & crackers, and a slice of bread + sample the posh marmalade.
Is it me or does anyone else find modern jams are runnier than they used to be?

Once upon a time, in the golden childhood years of gristly stews & bangers jam would stay put on the bread, now it slithers off if bread is not horizontal:mad:
    Probably climate change or B***t:D

Lunch will be more of the tinned salmon in a sarnie

Dinner. Chicken has defrosted, I found an iceberg consisting of cauli & broccoli spears in bottom of freezer, so I'll lop a lump off to go with chick, plus fresh carrots + celery
There are frozen roasties & Yorkies LO from last C***mas, plus packet of stuffing so looking like a proper Sunday roast is on the way today:j

I picked us both up a YS chicken £2.50 instead of £7.85 (there will be a lot of chicken on my menu next week :D)

I'll be joining you in the lots of chicken menus during the week, although I normally freeze the leg quarters

An unexpected food shop occurred. Housemate said they were going to Mr T Express and asked if I wanted anything and I said "I'll come too". I did think "bread, beans, something for today" - and I achieved that with 2 cans of beans, a loaf, a curry ready meal and a bag of sweeties....

.... trouble was we then wandered round I*land.... and I over-shopped. 10 fish cakes, 1.5Kg chips, 4 cans of spag bol, 1 can of sausages/beans ... and the bag was then quite heavy. It's about a mile home, including a bit of a hill :)

I have enough food for two weeks now I think! Although I've only two eggs so will have to get more eggs at some point.
  • I had two Linda Mcc sausages, half a tin of baked beans and grilled tomatoes.

I'm making veggie wraps for lunch.

I decided I fancied something hot for lunch and while having a mooch at my freezer inventory discovered I still had a tub of lentil soup in the freezer. A steaming bowl of that with a slice of bread & butter to dip fair hit the spot.:)

I'm making carrot and red lentil soup tonight.:)

  • I love CFO, we can have just whatr we fancy which is also why I love having full freezers and cupboards, just in case we fancy something we nearly always have it in. Cannot eat cuc. never have from school days, Mum could not female cuz no, dd no. Funny isnt it. Finishing the hot dog sausages, not really a fan, and half tin spag hoops and I think I will have on toast for lunch in a mo. The curry soup (strong) will in some way be for dinner and I did chicken kebab mix in SC yesterday so that will be for tomorrow, maybe some frozen chips as still having probs with back.

Chicken roasting away giving lovely warming smell on this chilly day

Quick spin round the garden, removing the "come to nothing" figlets and then found a beetroot hiding away under the nasturtiums:j
That's now in tin foil in the oven with the chicken
I also found a lonely LO leek in fridge, from the L's offer a week or so back, I'd forgotten about the one that got away

Feeling quite virtuous with good count of veg for today, fresh beetroot, leek, celery, carrots & frozen cauli / broccoli

Is the spag bol one of the 57 varities type? Asking as I've never had tinned spag bol and it could be a nice come in handy if it's ok. make a change anyway

Dinner scoffed, mistimed it so forgot to use the frozen broc / cauli, even so the rest was nice, but the Yorkies have obviously been in freezer too long, more like Yorkshire biscuits than puddings, still crunched them though:D

A couple of roasties & carrots LO, but I'm partial to cold roast spuds so they may not see sunrise:o

Yes but it's not as good/dark/meaty as it used to be as I've had the first half a can. I'd prefer to chance my luck with a standard Mr T one in future to be honest.

I've always eaten it on toast. 2 bits of toast and half a can; optionally top with a bit of cheese.
