cottage cheese, grated carrots and coarse cut bitter orange marmalade on toast anyone?- nope me neither these days :rotfl::rotfl:)
_pale_ I remember watching my pregnant niece dip banana into piccalilli as my sister and I watched with a horrid fascination. I also have venison envy although I have no room in my freezer at the moment
I don't think I have ever had a pickled walnut
I gave up today and put my heating on when I got in from work as the house felt cold probably not helped by sitting in a cold office, it takes a while to build up heat after the weekend.
Out again tonight this time a play with my sister The Lady Vanishes good old Hitchcockmade more enjoyable by 2for1 on opening night tickets with our friends of the venue card :money: although the price of the ice cream was  very nice but I remember why I don't usually bother. My sister said she needed one to stop her coughing :rotfl: Not that she had coughed in the first half
Lunch was some HM lentil, sweet potato and pepper soup i didn't have any bacon which was in the recipe so add about an inch of chorizo from the freezer which added a lovely favour with a little smoked paprika. Dinner was chicken a la Farways with chips and vegLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
I was watching a YouTube video recently and the woman was saying what vegan stuff you can get from Poundland and Poundstretchers so i was going to go and look there. She said they have a lot of new products around Christmas too.
I haven't been in those shops in years. I used to when I was being more frugal. I should start looking in there again!
This is MSE after all.:money:_pale_ I remember watching my pregnant niece dip banana into piccalilli as my sister and I watched with a horrid fascination. I also have venison envy although I have no room in my freezer at the moment

I don't think I have tasted pickled walnuts. either.
I like The Lady Vanishes.:T0 -
I'm making soup today. I felt quite cold when I got in yesterday. Time for fleecy sock weather.
I put in veg bouillon, passata, red onion, red pepper, sweetcorn, peas and a carrot. I will blend it up at the end.2025 GOALS

Couple of cooked sausages out plus some caramalised onions, will do with pot + carrot mash and - to be healthy - spinach, all but pot are from freezers.0

Good afternoon everyone,
Snap Wednesday it's soup and warm socks weather here too.:)
Brambling - I can just about see how banana and piccalilli could work as I'm partial to a mashed banana and Branston toastie:cool:.
Earlier my toaster decided it was going to shuffle of this mortal coil with a bang:eek: tripping the circuit as well so not the best start to the day:(. It was just a cheap one and four or five years old so doesn't owe me anything as I toast most days for breakfast. It will be getting replaced with another cheap one as I cba waiting for the cooker grill to heat up.
It's blooming baltic here today, I popped out to the library which is near the sea front and the wind would have cut you in two. Although I well wrapped up and only had to wait a few minutes for my taxi home I was chilled to the bone when I got back in the house.
HM soup and oatcakes for lunch and mince & tatties for dinner tonight.0 -

I was just thinking that last night, hope I can find them, I know the general area where they should be parked but tidy clothes stacking is not my DNA;)
My airing cupboard is the clothing equivalent of a shed, it's in there somewhere:D
Into L's for a mooch first thing, No YS but did spy & buy walnut cake [I wonder what triggered the walnut button?:o]
Lunch, cheese & opened jar of HM 2011 vintage apple chutney, both in a sarnie
Dinner is last of the LO chicken that looks like chicken and not "bits" + Aunt B's frozen French fries, on offer, + salad, lovely Little gems from L's this morning
The rest of chicken I'll pick over and maybe use with some pasta tomorrow, found a 2011 pack lurking & fancy pasta now having seen PN spag bol mentioned
Local G grocer posted he has "Thursday Cottage" jams etc in, tempting, never had them but always hoping to find a proper home made style one.
Noted there is a ginger curd, never had that & I've already put one on my list:)Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

Sounds delish. I had a cooking day on Sunday, n made batches of leek n potato soup, spicy tomato n lentil soup, n chana masala. Now have half a freezer full of ready meals:D
It's freezing here today too, so am under my heated throw eating cheese on toast :rotfl:"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I'd give that a whirl .... cost/reason depending.
To just "give it a try" it'd have to be £1.
If it were for a bit of a treat recipe, under the right circumstances I could begrudgingly be dragged towards £2.
So now I'm wondering how much it is
A quick Google suggests it's a bit pricey ... which relegates it to the "I could make that" list, which is proven to be the "yes, but you'll never get round to it" list0 -
Ooh, my friend from another forum might be joining us soon.
I told her about the MSE forum and how friendly the people are, well, I said to stay away from the politics discussions about Brexit on the Discussion thread. Haha.
Stick with the nice people on OSM.:heart2::kisses3:

Had to eschew the supermarket in favour of staying in & resting, so the fantasy of pan fried salmon on a bed of basmati rice with maybe a few capers has been put on hold. It's dirty hot dogs instead (dirty ie not vegan). Cat got some fresh liver, so now I'm jealous - liver & onions is on the cards this week now (now that is old style recuperation food)
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?0
