    Good evening everyone,
Mash mixed with peas & cheese was a favourite when my kids were at home, I've not had it in years - one to add to my "make" list:).
Brr it was cold when I woke just after 7am this morning just 1C and there was a proper frost on the roofs. I was glad my days having to scrape the car or freeze waiting for a train are over;). It turned into a lovely day, definitely on the cool side but crisp & sunny. It's to be another cold one tonight though.
I had a great catch up with my friend, she arrived late morning and left mid afternoon. We hadn't met up since June so we had lots to natter about. For lunch I made us wraps with brie, salad & chilli jam which we had with grapes. After a snooze and before the sun went over I pottered about the garden doing some tidying and just enjoying the fresh air.
Dinner tonight is turkey thigh, mushroom and spinach in a HM creamy mstard sauce with asparagus and baby spuds. The turkey was already cooked (a Christmas LO I found in the freezer when I had the recent sort out:o:o) and I've a tub of cream lurking in the fridge LO from making cullen skink. There will be enough LO for my lunch tomorrow. I'm needing to make a meal plan but was holding off until I knew if my younger son is up this weekend, he's still unsure as he might be getting a new boiler fitted as his has died. I'll wing it until I know what he's doing but must go through the fridge tomorrow and check for anything needing used sooner rather than later! I always lose track when I'm not CFO as it's not just me using/not using stuff.:rotfl:

Definitely cooler here this morning although 7c and not 1c so I wouldn't complain too much :) once my current lot of yogurt is finished I think it will be back to porridge for breakfast

The new neighbour has been parking his van on his lawn unfortunately he hadn't allowed for all this rain, he spent an hour this morning trying to get it off the lawn as the wheels spun and sank deeper, it had gone when I got home but the lawn has some really deep holes in. He usually takes his daughter to school but not the local one he wasn't popular :).

I was annoyed when I got home today as i came in to a sorry we missed you card from the post office also an email from them, it's only a new bra which usually fits through the letter box the company I buy from have good half price sales :D , it looks like they now want a signature and the card says also too big for letterbox  it will have to wait until Saturday morning as I can't make the sorting office times and there's usually a queue then

Farway can I ask who you've gone with as my deal is just about to run out

Lunch was more of my minestrone soup and dinner a lazy jacket potato done in the air fryer with HM red cabbage coleslaw and cheese.

How frustrating Brambling, at our sorting office you can set up a "safe place" arrangement which seems to cover some "signed for" stuff. I'm not sure how you set it up or what all it covers as the chap at the sorting office set it up when my son collected a parcel for me a couple of years ago. Might be worth asking when you collect it if you have anywhere stuff can be left. It's worked well for me.

Usually not a problem with this company as one bra usually fits the letter box, if I had known it had changed it's policy I would have used my sister's address with the message to leave in porch . She complained that her postman leaves half her neighbours packages, her sons and now mine :D. Or i put leave behind wheelie bin, although one postman moved the bin in front of the front door and left the package behind it against the door rather than leaving the parcel between the bin and shed wall, not obviously at all

I had one of those royal mail cards the other day, so annoying. I have a mini porch and a safe place. Its probably down to a few who tell fibs about parcel arrivals, I don`t blame the postie but it means a trip to the sorting office, at least it is quite close, just a cycle ride

Use up mode today, will be out later so am being good and will prep a salad in a bowl so I have something to grab when I come back starving. I have nicely matured soup, 2 days old and will be very tasty, celery and cashew nut, good for soon after the salad. That will be it for the day, apart from LO sd bread slices with jam, I crave sweet things so am going to go the jam route in future as I am not having biscuits or sweets in the house

I hope PN is settled in the new abode

I have to use up the fresh food today as I'm going away at the weekend.

I had the last of the vegan bacon in a sandwich this morning.

I have bananas, oranges and almost a full box of cherry toms to use up.

I will make fruit smoothies for both of us and and roasted tomato soup for me as I have half a loaf of bread too. My husband will have to make cheese toasties as well.

Chilly here today, still on porridge breakfast so fittting the weather now

Early start to town post breakfast, via Doc's.

Seems my hernia may have popped back:mad: Need a few tests, including blood, to make sure it's nothing else, than back I go on waiting list I suspect. At least I now know what to expect, <sigh>

While in Doc's he jabbed me with 'flu, so that's one less job to do

Found some YS spuds in Icel'd, not the best in the world but half price bag, I only bought them because of possible leek & spud soup fest this weekend, they'll be ideal for that

Lunch, last of the YS rolls, this time with use up cucumber + cheese

Not quite the weather but I've taken a salmon fillet out to defrost,. Probably have it with some use up salad, and HM Actifry chips from the YS spuds

I used the MSE comparison, and think I'm going with Zog, silly name, but I was with them before and had no problems at all, usual enter monthly reading on line stuff

I ignore cash back & offers, mainly not worth my time / trouble as low user

https://www.zogenergy.com/ and I'm thinking of Zog Mercury 24 v23 Month FIXED term, which like I said is only £6 more over two years [24p a month]for my small consumption
