This morning I tried another Toby; different location. Although the menus are the same online there are little differences.
This one had two different flavoured "home made hash" bakes.
Today I had: 2 bits of toast/marg, big scoop of hash browns, 3 triangular hash browns, 3 sausages, 3 fried eggs, big scoop of beans, 1 large tinned tomato. I also had one of their Yorkshires, I didn't want a large one, but they had a few little ones, so I had one of those - the gravy to accompany those was absent.
On the whole at Toby there will always be one item you have to either ask for, or wait for... I didn't bother asking/waiting for a new batch of gravy as I knew I was having beans, so poured those on it to make it moist.
I believe there are two other Toby's within six miles of here, so I'll try a different one next time probably.
Later on I popped into a Home Bargains and got some fizzy pop, a 5-pack of Doritos and a bag of wine gums
No exciting looking homes came to market today (nor this week). I could be in for a bit of a wait0 -
Good evening everyone,
Enjoy your weekend away Wednesday:)
Love the sound of your mash whmf
I'm late on parade again today, I was out and about this morning and nipped into the Drs to book my flu jab. Getting jabbed on Monday. It definitely depends on who you get receptionist wise at this surgery, after last year being made to feel like a naughty child because "I didn't qualify" (when I did!) but no problems at all this year.:) This afternoon I had paperwork to go through before a telephone meeting with the lawyer re the sale of my Dad's flat.
It's been a right cold one here today, not quite as frosty this morning but sadly no sunny day either, it's now tipping it down. Late afternoon I ended up looking out my fleecy slipper boots as my feet were freezing and the stove was lit just after 6pm as by that point my multiple layers weren't enough. I do find it quite hard when the temperatures first dip but no doubt today will seem positively balmy in a couple of months.
Last night's turkey stew made more than I thought when I portioned up what was left, there was enough LO to cover lunch today and tomorrow, It's tasty though and just the thing on a cold day. Salmon & veg stir fry with some "straight to wok" curry noodles added for dinner. It will be heavy on the veg and light on the fish as I'm using up a small tub of cooked salmon from the freezer. My meal plan remains undone though I did have a quick look through the fridge to check for use, lose or freeze stuff. I've portioned and frozen a pack of stuffed pasta and will use up some of the lurking/needing used broccoli and peppers tonight. As far as I can see everything else is just fine and as my son isn't up this weekend I've rearranged my grocery delivery from tomorrow until Monday.0 -
I'm having a Red Thai Curry tonight! I went through the bins and Sainsburys earlier, it's only 2 days past it's sell by date. I'm also having Red Thai Curry tomorrow night and Saturday as there was there was 3 of them in the bin. It looks very nice.0

I used the MSE comparison, and think I'm going with Zog, silly name, but I was with them before and had no problems at all, usual enter monthly reading on line stuff
I ignore cash back & offers, mainly not worth my time / trouble as low user
https://www.zogenergy.com/ and I'm thinking of Zog Mercury 24 v23 Month FIXED term, which like I said is only £6 more over two years [24p a month]for my small consumption
Thanks Farway I'll have a look at the weekend my current deal runs out in a couple of weeks
Hi Brandy62
PN your jeans will soon be fitting you again after that.
Caronc the temperature dropped overnight here, it was 3c when I got in the car at 8am, boots and a thicker cardi was put onbut they say it will reach double figures again overnight with the rain it's meant to be 12c during the night. So heating will stay off for a while :money:
Busy day at work with our two hour meeting turning into five hours  therefore lunch was eaten on the go, I came away with a long todo list (to be fair we all have) at the start of the meeting I promised something by the end of the day, by 4pm it had moved to tomorrow late afternoon  but only if he stopped handing out workour overseas visitor brought in a large amount of baklava and Turkish delight from Dubai, not good for the waist line but helped with a five hour meeting
Lunch on the run was the last of my minestrone soup. Dinner was a variation on my Nasi Goreng with additional veg and tomorrow's Friday :j:j:beer: which reminds me I must buy tonic. :rotfl:Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Re food... one good Toby does mean no more meals are required that day
I figure if I have one every 2-3 days it's OK. It's not as if I'm then having a lunch later and an evening meal. I make it work hard0 -

Hello Brandy62 sorry I missed your post - we must have posted more or less at the same time!
Brambling - after mildish sometimes lovely weather, the last couple of days have felt really cold, especially today when the sun never came through to warm things up. Winter is looming but I prefer a gradual edge in rather than a plummet, though it's to be very wet and comparatively warmer for a good spell from tomorrow . I'd much rather have the cold start/evening than the rain. Sounds as though roll on COB Friday and large G&T will be well deserved;).0 -
PastureNew - I haven't been to a Toby for years. Can you still get bigger plates if you pay a bit more?
Hello Brambling. Thank you for the wave.0 -

I think after the last few months I think you have earned it
Caronc I agree I prefer a cooler crisp day to a warmer and wet one :cool:Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
Grey, damp and chilly here this morning, though not quite as cold as it was yesterday.
Finally cobbled together a loose meal plan for the next week.
Last nights salmon, veg, curry noodle stir fry was so-so. Nothing wrong with it as such just not super tasty. There were some LOs which I must confess I binned, unlike me but I have LO turkey casserole for lunch and so they would probably have lurked in the fridge for a few days before I finally ditched them.;)
HM pizza tonight using a naan bread as the base, I have tom sauce in the freezer and I'll use up the remaining 1/2 pepper as part of the topping.
Housework and admin for me today, though if it brightens up later I'll do a bit of tidying in the garden.0
