Good evening
I hope your chest sitting elephant has headed off on "the road to Mandelay" Brambling and you are feeling better this evening. <<hugs>>
I'm glad the house sale is still possible PN but unsettling until you know what is happening. My Dad's flat has had two viewers so far, one set definitely not interested and the other liked it but had other places to see. EA thinks they might put in a daft offer which will be rejected at this point as it's only been on the market for a fortnight!
I can sympathise patty pan, despite burning candles I could still smell baking herring when I got up this morning:eek:. I think oily fish even when perfectly fresh can make a right whiff.
Lunch with my sis & friends was lovely and despite what seemed like far too much food when I set it out there's not a lot of LOs just enough to happily cover a couple of my lunches.:) I picked the first of my kholrabi to make a "slaw" with carrot & apple. With a vinegarette dressing rather than mayo based one it was lovely and light, there's only a couple of tablespoons left from a decent-sized bowlful so it definitely went down well. My friend made gorgeous choc & walnut brownies for pud which we had with creme fraiche and raspberries. I have a small square in the fridge and my sis took the rest for my nephew and his gf.:)
Until late afternoon it was a lovely day though very windy if you weren't sheltered and we managed to sit out in the garden to have coffee and pudding without getting blown away. About an hour after they left the skiessuddenly darkened and there was the most violent thunderstorm and torrential rain. The bottom of my garden was completely flooded as was my lean to. The storm didn't last very long but there has been a few sharp showers since.
After a substantial lunch I'm not contemplating dinner tonight, if I'm peckish later I'll make a piece of toast.0 -
sounds like a lovely day caronc
Today is the first day of me being back on the healthy lifestyle wagon. I still have jobs to do but I am no longer going to risk more hip pain, I will pace myself. I washed lettuce last night and spun in a tk max cheap spinner. Beetroot also cooked and chilled last night. It seems to be a better temperature today so I am going to take my bike out, not far because it is hilly here. I might just peel and prep some apples for the freezer first, always cooked as they take up less room. I stripped the first tree of its second half, its an early cooker/eater so they will just about be ready. It is still to warm to store any of these in the apple drawers
Breakfast was a small bit of granola, full cream local strawberry yoghurt and strawberries. The yoghurt was too sweet so that is off my future list. The sd from riverford is very nice, not salty and the right texture. I sliced it straight away, neat slices because I bought a slicer to preserve my hands. Now in the full freezer. Sd when I come back and probably the remaining half can of sardines
Lunch, a salad with nuts and a piece of cake and chocolate. Early teatime, hazlenut yoghurt, kombucha on ice, maybe a bit of rice with a small frozen soup and at least I will go to bed not feeling that I have eaten all the wrong food0 -

People's situations are different, it's always worth putting in a daft offer. One I spotted at £295k sold within 4 days and when it came through I could see the sold price was £280k!
I tend to see the £295k, then think "won't go and view/they'll still be expecting it to be snapped up at about that price".
On the other hand, there are people like me about who know what we want - or are prepared to "live with".... and have a top amount, so it's worth throwing the figure out there.
There's one that came up for sale this week at £320k. I don't have £320k...... it's "worth" about that when compared to others. But, if I had the money, I'd be rushing round there and offering them every penny I have, which is £300k. Although maybe that's not a "daft offer", a daft offer on £320k is probably £280k.
People know what they're after - and what they've got to spend.... although I am staggered at how much cash some people do have floating about.
The £320k one I've seen, that's "finished/clean/modern/extended/perfect" isn't actually perfect... and could do with £10-20k of "tweaks". It's got some "odd choices" at the moment that'd need to be rectified.... and somebody with more money than me could see it and see that if they spent £50k on it it could easily slide into the £425k price bracket... so my competition isn't people who also have £320k to spend, but people who have £400k to spend and are in a position to make the changes.0 -
Yesterday:
I had one of the bread rolls, toasted and topped with beans/scrambled eggs.
I had another bread roll filled with sliced cucumber.
I cooked the chicken pie (ate the filling although it was touch and go), served with oven chips and beans.
I ate all the jelly babies I bought yesterday.
I scoffed one of the egg custard tarts.
I had 4 chocolate topped oatie biscuits
Today I've just boiled four eggs, so they're now in the fridge. I'll, no doubt, have a couple of egg/cucumber bread rolls at some point.
At least one egg custard tart will get eaten.
Some chocolate biscuits will no doubt get scoffed.
For a "main meal", the closest I have in the house would be if I cook up some fish fingers with chips and beans0 -
Sunshine woke me, but fooled me because now porridge breakfast is over it's raining, which dashes my dead heading plans for the moment
Bit torn over dinner, last night's salmon fillet salad was OK,. but the salmon was not as tasty as previously, it's new pack so maybe different fish farm? I'll eat the rest anyway, not that bad, just different
Dinner could be a frozen MFO roast beef dinner in a Yorkie, or ????? freezer diving.
Lunch will be last of the YS rolls, with cheese & salady bitsBreakfast was a small bit of granola, full cream local strawberry yoghurt and strawberries. The yoghurt was too sweet so that is off my future list.
That's a shame PP4, I find nearly all bought yoghourts, even the so called healthy organic ones, have added sugar or sweetener, which is one reason I make my own these daysEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

I think the market works a bit differently here as they go on at an offers over price which tends to be a good bit less than the home report valuation. The offers over price tends to be indicative of the lowest price the seller is likely to accept. Unless the property has been on for a while, or is on at more than the home report valuation or the home report flags up any major issues none of which applies to my Dad's flat offers under the offers over price are unlikely to be accepted. Generally most places sell above the offers over price.
Good morning everyone,
Brambling I hope you're feeling better this morning. I think you've passed your germs on as I woke up in the early hours all bunged up and with a throat like sandpaper.:(
It's cold, wet and very windy and as I'm feeling grotty I won't be straying further than the bin. LOs for lunch and I've a small piece of steak defrosting to make stroganoff tonight for dinner. I've a fair bit of creme fraiche to use up as the small tub I had ordered was subbed for a large one and I only used a few spoonfuls of it yesterday so dinner will use some more up and the rest I'll use instead of yoghurt in a tandoori marinade later in the week.:)0 -
Yesterdays meatballs were very nice but I could not find any frozen tomatoey bits (found them this morning of course) so took out a small portion of red looking chilli, added bit of stuff and made into a sauce, the left over will be put in a tortilla today, maybe with cheese on top, for lunch. I took the fresh pineapple I had bought and used the special pineapple corer/peeler thing I bought (was only about 1.99) so had some pineapple for pud and am doing chicken and p/apple fried rice tonight using the cauli rice instead of real rice. Tomorrow sweet n sour meatballs with p/apple.0

I had a bread roll this morning. I should have some lunch now, I'm not really hungry...0

Sun's out now.
Flowers dead headed, one more fresh fig scoffed, plus the plums on the tree are actually going soft instead of mouldy, had one of them warm from the tree, good job, I was thinking if the plums failed the tree was for the chop
And one apple tree has apples ripening now, picked a few of them, crumble time again this week. Unfortunately next door spent the afternoon grubbing up the wild but tasty blackberry growing next to the access path. All is not lost, there's one near my garage, tasty but just not as conveneient
Dinner decided, it's salmon fillet salad again now weather has changed back to summerEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I had a daft offer from a cash buyer when I sold, I eventually got a little more from her than her daft offer but the lying sc*mbag was eventually not a cash buyer. Lots of liars come out of the woodwork when trying to buy a house on the cheap. PN, 280 on a 320 house is a decent starter offer
No cycling today, it rained in dribs and then it was too windy and by then I was engrossed in doing stuff in the house. Good eating so far as in healthy, not been stuffing my face with those biscuits that I just remembered about, yet0
