Some of the McCain spiced wedges with marinated mushroom kebabs. The potatoes were YS, the mushrooms were on special, chicken and peppers from freezer. Will have some more of the cauli rice tomorrow maybe or will portion and freeze as will need to use the wedges. Last nights dinner was very good, chinese pork steak + vegs & cauli rice, I even took a pic and sent to a friend.0

Back to sunshine today, so into town after breakfast
Nothing really needed, except eggs & TV schedules.
I get my FR eggs from the greengrocer, sort of local ish, nice eggs with yolks that don't break the minute air touches them. Must be more popular than I knew, I had the last box, which is good as means he will keep stocking them
Only one YS today, chicken tikka RM for one in As*a, ideal because I've been fancying something Oriental lately.
That's dinner sorted
I had a surprise in Savers, found they sell sugar as well as loo rolls & toothpaste. Point is it's only 49 for kilo bag, Tate & L's so not obscure brand, although sugar's sugar as far as I'm concerned.
That's 15p Kg cheaper than L's which is nice to know now crumble time is here
Lunch was cheese & salady YS rolls
Dinner YS tikka, with HM fruit crumble & custard to followPasturesNew wrote: »Then I think "if only I had other bits to go in there... like a carrot or something".
Breakfast today was: Cheese and beans on a toasted crust. Might have that again later as the bag's now only got one more slice of crust in it and there's an opened tin of beans in the fridge....
Thanks PN, jogged my memory, buy carrots
And cheese / beans on toast is an ideal meal, it was nearly my dinner tonight had I not found a YS MFOEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
I hope you are feeling better today Brambling <<hugs>>
I share your pain pattypan re freezer filling, I got 6 portions from the soup I made on Tuesday. So far I've used 2 and will probably have soup again for lunch tomorrow but at 3 will head to the freezer along with the pesto and 2 portions of sweet potato wedges. Out of all of that the only thing removed to make them was a small tub of stock!
We always had a holiday of some sort when I was growing up usually to a caravan or visiting my great aunt in Sheffield. I have so many lovely memories of these times that I was keen that my kids had the same experiences when they were growing up. I've not been away since 2014 but I'm very much looking forward to a long weekend in Fife with the family next month.:)
It's dry but hazy and breezy here today, I definitely needed a cardi when I went to the library earlier.
I'm not sure if I'm CFO or not tonight it will depend on when my son gets finished up. Either way it's the same meal - stuffed pasta with a garden veg & pesto sauce.0 -
I had a really long lie in and only got up at 11.30. I did get up earlier for a while but felt tired with my husband just coming off nights so went back to bed!:D
I had some Quorn nuggets, rice and roasted veg for brunch along with a strawberry soya milkshake.
I have leftover soup and bread to have later. I feel totally full up at the moment.I'm officially feeling sorry for myself. With chills thrown into the mix so I'm sitting in my winter pjs and dressing gown with chattering teeth, I would go to bed but next door have been hammering all evening

I just got a bit of paper and a pen and said to myself "write a list of some nice things you can go out and buy .... and go get them".
I'm probably shortly off to £land to buy my favourite choccies for starters.
I've had beans/cheese on a toasted crust twice today.
I've no idea what might get onto my food list.... could be sausage rolls ... and/or maybe sausages. I'm out of frozen chips so might get round to getting some ....
I do wish everything could be bought from one shop though. The list currently would need 3 separate shop visits to acquire it all.
L: Sausage rolls, chips
£Land: Chocciesi
A: Sausages
Also fizzy pop which might be available in £land or L.0 -
Good evening everyone,
LOL PN see you're covering your essentials:), don't know about your area but the weather in here is supposed to be pretty mixed here for the next few days, so as well to get supplies in. I've got a grocery order arriving tomorrow covering staples and bits for friends & my sis coming over for lunch on Saturday. For the lunch I'm mainly using stuff I already have or from the garden but need a few bits to make dishes I've planned. We are having what my Gran would have called a "cold compilation". I've six fat herring fillets in the fridge defrosting which I'll souse tomorrow and I'll make a Spanish tortilla to go along with some Italian meats, cheese and various salads. I'm hoping there will be LOs:).
This afternoon I spent ages in the greenhouse taming and nipping off tomato plants, most are well over six foot so I don't want them to grow any taller:eek:. It looks as though it's going to be a decent crop and I picked a good sized bowful of ripe ones.:) However my two roma types have bits of blossom end rot which they are prone to so I don't know if I'll get many of those this year.:(
I'm only "sort of" CFO tonight as my son arrived back a couple of hours ago exhausted & ravenous as he'd not had any lunch and been on the go since 6am after a late arrival yesterday. It was far too early for me to eat but I made up the pasta dish (which got a big thumbs up from him:)) so he could have dinner and I'll nuke mine shortly. He's now showered and headed to bed as he's leaving just after 4 am as he has a deadline to meet before he finishes up for a week's leave. I'll not see him while he's off as him & his Dad are heading to Wales to his brother's for a couple of days before the three of them head off for the rest of the week in their Dad's camper van. (My younger son loves these types of breaks, my older one less so and says if it rains he booking into a B&B:rotfl::rotfl:)0 -
I'm with you eldest son Caronc on a comfy bed
Next door worked until 10 o'clock last night so I think it's time to remind him that we share a wall  he arrive 8pm tonight but hasn't been too bad so I'm not getting dressed again unless he gets noisy. The new windows were put in today so I'm hoping the worst of the noisy work will soon be finish.
I went to work to escape the noise and got read the riot act by my sister in a string of text messages and a reminder I could have gone to hers today and called in sick
I'm not fancying food at the moment and cba to cook so food was the same as yesterday, blue cheese crackers and pear for lunch and a bowl of cereal for dinnerLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

Hope your neighbour is more considerate tonight, there's nothing worse than noise when you are feeling rubbish <<hugs>>0 -
Oh I so agree
Then I think "if only I had other bits to go in there... like a carrot or something".
I am trying not to go to shops other than for milk and oats every so oftern. I have meatballs in freezer but never get around to using them, ditto faggots/parsnips/hash browns/spinach/broccili/pizza I am sure you get the drift. Just about every herb and spice etc. Have told myself to use stuff and am really trying, got lunch and dinner today to use some of them but going to make BIG effort to make spag (actually any old pasta, do not use spag as I get it down my tops) and meatballs tomorrow.0 -
Good morning everyone,
Back to wind and rain here today!
My son left at 4am and I was a good mum and got up to give him a hug before he left:).
Housework this morning while I wait for my groceries to arrive, I was going to mop through after lunch but as my friends are bringing their pooches who will have been to the beach before they arrive I've decided it's a wasted effort;). I'll give the place a thorough hoover and that will do just fine.:)
Soup again for lunch and jazzed up LOs as there are a few spoonfuls of pasta & sauce spare from last night and I'll cook some veg and a couple of bangers to pad it out.0
