Yesterday was dictated by what I had/needed to be used...

I had two oven bottom muffins with the last of the cucumber and two boiled eggs, so cucumber/egg rolls.
I had the final egg custard tart.
I had two bits of toast, one with marg and the 2nd with the final scrapings of the chocolate spread.

Today I've got to eat the other two bread rolls and open that punnet of tomatoes.... so that'll be tomato, or tomato/egg rolls.

I'll have lots of tomatoes still to use up, so maybe a couple of rounds of tomato sandwiches.

I'll still have lots of tomatoes to use up, so I might have to make some pizzas, I bought a 2-pack of naan breads the other week for that - and I did have pizza in mind when I committed to buying a bag of onions.

It's all bread based for me really ... although I'm unsure what to do with the half can of mushy peas in the fridge, so I guess I'll have to have chips/peas at some point.

It's a constant juggle with food overload, even though the food isn't really that many items, it's always a battle to get through it all.

If loaves were sold in quarter loaf packs for, say, 15p ... I'd get one of those a week and be able to get through it all.

Freezer's still quite empty. It's just got: 1/3rd of a chicken pie, half a pack of fish fingers, half a pack of chips.

Lovely free day today, I can see where rain didn`t drain well enough so have bought a gorilla bar. Its all about fulcrum and prising up, doesn`t half save my hands. Got to sit tight for a couple of days, am pacing myself, mentally tempted but being prudent after a good pain-free night. Thank to one dose of ibrufen, followed a few hours later by one dose of paracetamol. No more needed

So hardware shopping done and one end of a lidl sourdough cob eaten with blue cheese and a ripe kiwi and an aeropress coffee, a king could not have nicer food

Lunch has to be griddled quinoa burger thing plus whatever veg I can gather plus a costco temptation pud, tirmisu, definitely a want not a need

Teatime, oatcakes and humus and cherries

Gammon is coming out soon to start de-frosting, will soak tonight and will cook with stock veg and water tomorrow after opticians, in pressure cooker, to fridge when cold all night. Next day I will remove the fat layer from the stock, chop the lean meat and will soon have soup and enough meat for some lovely sandwiches, with mustard

can you cook a rm breadcrumbed fish plus hm chips in an air fryer

I've a basic air fryer so it's just a basket with no paddle, I've cooked both HM chips and HM breaded fish in mine. For just chips you just shake the basket half way through cooking time and for fish or chicken you need to turn it over.

I woke up hungry so I had a cold lentil pastie, didn't even bother to heat it up as it was so early in the morning.

I just had a toastie after going back to bed for a couple of hours when my husband got in.

It feels a lot cooler today! I might have to get a cardigan.

'scuse me but I think I'll pass on cold lentil pasty as well as cold pasta.
I loath lentils, every time I get convinced to try them I find my original loathing was correct
Probably links back to projectile lentil vomiting days of yore:eek:
It was C & O sarnie for lunch

Popped into garden for a quick check, scooped up some of next door windfall pears, plus a few of my fallen apples, and some plums that look ripe but still feel a bit tough

I'll probably stew them all in one pan. Not enough for a crumble, but be fine just as stewed mixed fruit

On track for bangers, chips etc, only needs cooking

    Good evening everyone,

Oh pattypan I love "proper" pea & ham soup made with dried peas, I make a few pots of it each winter and it's such a tasy meal.:)

As the song says "what a difference a day makes" - torrential rain all day yesterday and sunshine today. :) There was a brief, light shower late morning but apart from that it has been lovely, though it's much cooler this evening than it's been. My poor bean wigwams fell over during the wind/rain yesterday but the plants seem undamaged, they've now been righted and secured. Bean picking will be on my "to do" for tomorrow as I think there are a good few ready. My courgettes, calvo nero & chard are looking a bit sorry for themselves, if we don't get more heavy rain they might rally but otherwise I'm not sure they'll recover. However, the kholrabi are looking great and there's a couple of good sized ones I'll pick later on the week.
I had a lovely, long and leisurely lunch with my friends, I'm glad I gave the tapas place another go as the service was just fine today despite the restaurant being surprisingly busy for a Monday. There was five of us and they do a 3 tapas for £9 option at lunch so we got 12 plates between us. This was more than enough and 9 could have covered a light lunch for 5 if you picked the more substantial options. Even adding tip, drinks, coffees etc. it made for a very reasonably priced lunch given the choices available and the standard of cooking both of which were excellent. Even better they were more than happy for us to linger over coffee and have a good natter so I wasn't home until well after 4pm:D.

I'll definitely not need much for dinner tonight though I'll probably want something before bed time so might make "something" on toast later.

Glad you had a good lunch and catch up Caronc I do enjoy tapas :). Sorry I think we've sent the rain up to you ;). My tomatoes etc are definitely looking sorry for themselves at the moment with more rain due after tomorrow.

I think I'm coming down with a cold :(. My sister had the start of one the last day of our holiday and I thought I had got away with it but today I'm not so sure, I woke up chesty needing to use my inhaler and blamed the receptionist's perfume at the hygienist for making it worst but as the day has gone on I'm thinking it's a cold  will have to wait and see what the morning brings, I must remember to use my preventative inhaler before going to bed

Lunch was HM noodles in a jar, where you layer up rice noodles with veg and cooked chicken and flavourings and then pour enough boiling water too cover the noodles close the lid and leave 7 or 8 minutes to cook before eating. I'm withholding judgment on it, I've tweaked it for tomorrow lunch this time with quorn not chicken and some more spices so we will see.

I wasn't that hungry dinner time and a little too cba even to ping LO chicken laksa so dinner was scrambled egg with a toasted sandwich thin I found i the freezer

I hope your cold doesn't come to anything. Two of my friends were recovering from one so it must be doing the rounds. I'm sure this humid. wet weather must be a boon for bugs. <<hugs>>
