Hopefully it won't all fall through PN, I remember having to have a mortgage in principle to prove to the EA I had the funds but that was 14 years ago. If they are short of a few thousand I wonder if they are waiting for the last minute and then asking every one along the chain to drop in price to match their fundsLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0

I opened the fridge just now to look for breakfast ideas. Wow, I've really been running down the fridge lately.:T
I could have had cereal but I got up very late so I'm making SW chips, a LindaMc sausage (maybe 2 actually) and ketchup.
I don't have any fruit or veg left until my Sains delivery later today.
I made a batch of green lentil spaghetti last night so a portion of that will be my late lunch.Hi all.
Newbie to this thread but a long time poster/lurker in this forum.
I'm not strictly a single person, but my teen is 18, will be at uni from September and hardly eats at home now (they'd much rather do to McD0nalds with their friends...then wonders why they keep putting on weight!) and as a result I seem to have lost my cooking mojo. When they're not here I tend to just have a sandwich or graze other things. My income is about to take a serious hit so I need to book my ideas up. I'm hoping I can glean some inspiration from you lot and refrain from relying on readymeals (which never fill me), or sandwiches :rotfl: I'm posting this now so I can kind of bookmark where I am "starting" from and then I'm going to go back and read through the thread over a few nights and make some notes

Welcome Nicki.
Dull old day, but out early after porridge breakfast
Bits & bobs really, secretly hoping for YS as usual but nothing of interest for me today
I did fall for a couple of frozen MFO Chinese chuck away type meals in A&da, only 99p so my expectations are not high, never had those & I keep fancying something Oriental but I'm not getting a proper take way at silly price for one
Lunch was repeat of cheese & salady sarnie
Due to lack of YS & inspiration, plus stale crusts, dinner is going to be cheesy beans on toast with couple of fried eggs on top
Brambling, I like the gammon that keeps on giving, must be the special stretchy YS ones from W8rose, mine lasted until last night. Drew a blank in there this morning though:(Steve Allen on LBC was raving about iceland instant mashed potato, says it is lovely and you only need to take out whatever you need on your plate
I've tried that, still got some. It is convenient and with a blob of butter ideal as emergency. I'd buy again. Now I fancy bangers & mash having realised I've got everything frozen & to hand;)
Fingers crossed on house PN, but as you point out, cost you nowt so far. I've not seen L's instant mash, but not looked either, worth me bearing in mind thoughEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Aw PN I hope it all works out okay <<hugs>>. In theory this shouldn't happen up here but the reality is somewhat different as there is no point suing someone who has no cash......
My sis came down with me to my Dad's so it didn't take long to get the garden ship shape again. There are viewers booked for Saturday, the first ones but you never know!
I'm currently enjoying a a lateish lunch of crackers with hummous, the last of the home grown radishes, cue sticks, yellow toms and a peach. I've no idea about dinner - probably pasta as a basis. I want to spend some time in my own garden before the weather is forecast to break overnight so it will be something easy to put together.0 -
Evening all
My last day in the office this week as I'm working from home tomorrow around the car going to the garage, a recall on the airbag so should only take an hour I'm told. His lordship gets confused if I'm home but working as he's not allowed on my lap or on the table to sit on the laptop  this week has gone really fast, the advantage of being busy I suppose
Lunch was another gammon salad, this one with a hard boil egg. There is still a small bit of gammon left I may use it in a stuffing for some large mushrooms tomorrow dinner
I'm off out for dinner now so no CFO tonight, Italian and a catch up with friends but no wine as I'm driving and it's a school nightLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good evening everyone,
Enjoy your Italian and catch up Brambling:).
I'm just in from the garden and phew I'm bushed. Over did it a bit I think between mine & my Dad's but got loads done:D. It's been a gorgeous day, hot but not melting though the clouds are gathering now and the weather is looking mixed to say the least for the next few days.
I now cba cooking much so it will be a quick fling together or oven bung in for me. I'll finish my cuppa and have a poke in the fridge/freezer/cupboards then decide from there. Tomorrow I need to redo my meal plan as it's turned into a fantasy this week and I need to incorporate all the veg I've picked.:cool:0 -
Good morning everyone,
And the rain came tumbling down..... What a contrast to yesterday's lovely sunshine.
The dreaded "wonky donkey" is kicking a bit so I'm planning a quiet day to try and calm it down. I want to make a pan of courgette and tomato sauce but apart from that will be taking it easy. I've plenty of sitting down things I can tackle if I get bored!0 -
Grandson had stayed over Wednesday so I now have half tin of baked beans for lunch today, we were going to have prawn pasta for lunch yesterday but then I suddenly had a job at a local restaurant, lunch for 2, so as I was still full in evening, I just had half the prawns with a dip and some fancy cheese bits. Got to make the prawn pasta for me today now. Menu plan went to pot this week, as did the diet because lunch out also included a dessert - shame I know.0

I had 5 hours sleep last night and then got up made some mashed avocado on a slice of wholemeal toast and then went back to bed for 3 hours more.:D
I had a toasted bagel with marg when I woke up and have just had the last of the lentil spaghetti. I feel really full up!2025 GOALS

Rain was bashing down here last night, but now it's warm & dry, forecast is rotten with gales though, which is a shame because there's the International Kite festival on the seafront, I suspect that'll be a damp squib this year with the gale force winds
Absolutely s0d all in L's this morning except a YS 20p fresh fruit salad, plus porridge oats & chocs top up, including the mini mars mock ups to trial
Lunch was last of my HM bread in a cheese & salady sarnie
Dinner, while hunting for the sausages I found a beef slice, so I'm defrosting that instead. I could nuke some of the Iceland mash to go with it. CBA to peel spuds & cook for the miserly amount of mash I'll need
OR more likely Actifry some chips + more beans
I also found some YS mince from last year, so that's out defrosting, given tomorrow's forecast savoury mince in slow cooker sounds a good choice
One good thing about the heat this year, my figs are starting to colour up but plums still going manky, I tried a fresh plum it was OK but not worth waiting 8 years for
Looking in my records I see the variety is Stanley, which is supposed to be s good 'un
