When I was buying I fell in love with the downstairs of a house, fantastic new big kitchen and added conservatory unfortunately the sq footage of the three bedrooms was less than the two bedrooms in my flat, and the bathroom was typical 1980s house with no window just an extractor fan. If it had two decent size bedrooms rather than one very small double and two small singles I may have had a second look but they also wanted the same price as bigger three bedrooms. My house had a smallish 1970s kitchen but that was the compromise and it was bigger than the 7 x 7 ft kitchen in my flat
When you walk around some houses you realise what strange changes people make which is why I found it better to go around with an estate agent so not to offend
Food wise was a repeat of yesterday, chicken flatbread and salad for lunch and chicken, chips and veg for dinner. I made chicken soup this evening so that will do lunches for the rest of the week, the temperature as dropped do that should be ok. I've eaten too much wheat this last week and my body is complaining so back to being good from tomorrow

Quick log in before the day starts.
I'm off down Southsea today for the D Day commemorations so not sure what I'll be eating,
Spam sarnies would be in line with the event but there's a good reason they fell out of favour. There's a decent chippie near the fun fair but maybe huge queues so only time will tell
At least weather's good, sunny with bit of a breeze, ideal or I'd be burnt. If you see it on TV I'm in there somewhere, but out in Plebs's area
Breakfast was usual porridge
Lunch, no idea
Dinner, depends when I get back, plenty of nuke-able MFOs in freezer so something will turn upEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I had a nectarine when I got home from choir last night, and it was delicious. Them, plus the yummy honeydew melon were both from Aldi, so well done to them! Top notch fruit!
Barely 9:30 and the phone interview I mentioned last week is done and dusted. Scheduled for 9am, but she rang a few minutes early... 45 minutes was allowed... We were done by 12 minutes past... She didn't have many questions, and they were very basic. I suspect she asks the same questions to all the candidates, regardless of what level of job they are going for. I felt like I answered the questions well though! I should find out by Friday. Fingers crossed.
Breakfast was an egg and banana. I'll do a sandwich and fruit for lunch, and will probably have a coffee shortly.
Next job is to sort out a strange letter I got from an institution that hold some savings for me. About a month ago I had to move them to a new provider, which I duly did, and got an acknowledgement for. Now the old organisation have got in touch "reminding" me that I really do have to make a decision regarding moving my money! I have, and I did! I suspect I shall have to phone them up, which I hate.Because it's fun to have money!

I quite like bungalows too.
When we eventually move when we retire early (hopefully in 5 years time when I'm 48!) I would be tempted to get a new build flat/ apartment with everything done as I hate DIY.:o:o:oflubberyzing wrote: »I had a nectarine when I got home from choir last night, and it was delicious. "PN" I too love a Toby, used to call for one on way home from visiting Mum in hospital, around 3.30 so was often only me. Always bring a doggy back of the roasties home and can make one or two more MFO out of that, once I was able to have one of the turkey legs, ready cooked, free. I also use the plastic containers, over and overf again as well as the metal ones for big oven, they are all so handy and when past their usefulness do not feel guilty about throwing them away.0

I also enjoy a Toby Carvery.
The last one I had was near Gatwick airport when I was staying overnight before my Italy trip.
I can almost see a Toby from my front window. As the crow flies, it's probably a 10 minute walk, but unfortunately there's a dual carriageway between us, so it's more like a 10-15 minute DRIVE. I've probably only been 3 times since moving in here nearly 9 years ago!Because it's fun to have money!

So little time so much gin on special offer in W*itrose
I have brought a bottle of lemon drizzle gin and some nice tonic for a birthday present but seeing as that’s in two weeks it’s possible it may get opened and sampled before then
. I understand it is frowned upon to give opened gin as a present
Hope you enjoyed your day Farway hopefully not too many loitering secret service man around and you were able to see what you wanted
Lunch was HM chicken soup and a packet of C&O crisps, PN was it you who complained about the favour of Walkers C&O recently? I should of listened to you I haven’t had them for ages and these didn’t taste right I even checked the date as they tasted almost stale, will have to see what the other 5 packets taste like but this could be the final time I buy them
Not sure what dinner will be I’m out early evening and usually grab something quick when I get home on a Wednesday so may be jacket potato or omelette I’ll have to see where the mood takes me as other than soup I have no LOs in the fridge
I realized last night that although I paid for my car insurance about a 4 or 5 weeks ago I haven’t seen anything from the insurance company yet, I know we shouldn’t expect paper work in the post these days but I haven’t received an email with a link to their site to download them either, I’m going to have to find time to call them during the day as I don’t like not having any paperwork. There’s always something :cool:Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

Just back, lovely day out, complete with low flypast, couple of Spitfires & Red Arrows of course, plus the VIPs did use the seafront so although it was cordoned off we could see them, HMQ sitting on the side adjacent to public, I assume does it by habit now
Don't know about secret service, heaving with police, some from Wales even boyo, and some toting huge guns, not something one sees out here in the sticks.
Actually they were helpful & not intimidating at all, quite a friendly atmosphere around on the Common
I did see everything, cheated slightly, wearing my veteran's badge, plus the walking stick I was up on a raised dais above the heads of the others, and a seat provided.:j
Had a cup of coffee & a choc chip muffin mid morning before the event started.
The funfair was blocked off because the helicopters were landing on the adjacent field, so lunchtime chips plan went out the window
Walked back towards park & ride and into pub for late lunch, D Day special supposedly, beef baguette, plus pint of soda & lime and pot of chips. I enjoyed it, but not cheap by any means
I don't feel hungry but if do I may have bowl of cereal / muesli laterEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good evening everyone,
Glad you had a good day out Farway and got a prime view.
Another day of rain and not doing very much. I did bake the loaf which turned out, like my good self, slightly wonky in places:rotfl::rotfl:. I tried a small slice (for quality assurance purposes;)) and the taste & texture are really good so I'm not bothered about how it looks. I think I must have jerked it when I was putting it in the oven.:o
The weather is supposed to be a bit better tomorrow, typical though that I'll need to spend a good bit of it at my Dad's waiting for a furniture pick up but hopefully I can get into the garden later in the day.
Lunch was mini pork pie with radishes and beetroot & the last of the soup I made the other day. I've defrosted a venison burger which I'll have with salad, gherkins & HM burger sauce in a ciabatta roll. I might griddle some halloumi too as I have a pack opened.0
