Oh well - just found out I won the prize at the event I went to.

I'd left - as I've learnt I'm not someone that basically gets good luck. Whatever I've got in life is down to a combination of determination and being pretty good at trend-spotting in society.

No idea what's in it - other than I've got a vague idea I might have spotted a bottle of wine in it:D:beer:. That'll do then to save me having to buy one to take with me when I visit a friend here Christmas Day:)

The rest - it can go to the local Food Bank. I think it's all edible - so they'll find a use for it.

Just read Bayer/Monsanto shares have shot down - 44%:D:D (food-related - with the Monsanto part of it being responsible for g*netically-m*diffied food).

So the town will have had two presents I got given and a sofa I've replaced going to someone that needs it this week.

Today counts as a good day:)

Survived my trip into town :D it was busy so I just went to the hairdressers

Dinner ended up as pork and mushroom stroganoff with a little tweaking so I didn't have to go shopping :) and LOs for tomorrow or Monday

    Good morning everyone,

Chaos rules!! Have a houseful, decorations are still not up and my boiler is very poorly:(. Thank goodness for a stove, an electric shower and the dishwasher. Engineer booked to look at it tomorrow so fingers crossed he can fix it though I think it will need to nudge up my "to replace" list:cool:
Hope all CFOers have a lovely Christmas :beer::D
  • I hope that boiler is gets sorted, caronc! But, it'll also make that stove feel extra special as well!

I'm waiting in for my Harry potter boxset to arrive - I'll start watching that on Xmas day. Hoping it arrives at a decent hour so I can go to T & get the XCFO goodies. I'm just going to see what takes my fancy when I get there...

Safe journey to anyone who is traveling & I hope everyone has an enjoyable Xmas!

Sad news on boiler Caron, maybe it's sulking now you've got a new toasty friend:) Good job you had the stove fitted and just in time

Last nights ethical, and certainly not cheap, South Downs lamb chop was superb. Two more in the freezer, so far I've not been disappointed in the ethical sourced meat, if I weren't CFO a good sourced turkey would be on my list somewhere

Dank morning outside, sticking inside again, plenty to get on with, including still in soak scabby cast iron pot

    Porridge breakfast
Another LO beef & salady sarnie planned for lunch

I was watching a Jamie Christmas five ingredients programme yesterday, most of it not for me or CFO but he did roast veggies, which some of CFOers, including me, also do.

This has prompted me for tonight's meal, he added Rosemary sprigs, which I've got, and garlic:( which I'll omit but the rest seemed as normal, except for cheffy not peeling or topping parsnips or carrots thing, which I'll also ignore as I doubt his carrots or parsnips come from a 20p bag from Asda;)

All being well, tonight is LO roast beef + roast veggies

After we'd picked up the birthday cake, sis drove on to the gfree chippy! We had chips and peas:T
My sister treated me to a couple of bottles of wine in a new bar, where we stumbled upon another sis and her hubby plus their daughter and and hubby. So we had a very enjoyable afternoon.
Tea was a chicken fillet ,boiled potatoes broccoli and sprouts.

Saturday despite feeling yuk, I had to go to town to pick up a parcel, so bought a cauli and some satsumas, as dd1 will be most upset if she doesn't get a couple in her stocking. I got prawns and Swiss choc roll for sis who is doing Xmas lunch. Then dgson arrived he's staying for the weekend.
My sister and hubby called before tea. I had promised dgson that our usual curry would be an authentic curry from the takeaway instead of a shared Mr T. Curry.
We had sylheti tharkari with rice and poppadoms, I also had aloo saag. We had magnum style lollies after.
Another sister and hubby called afterwards, he brought wine, so I had a glass or 2 as we watched the lone ranger. Whilst dgson blew up balloons and sis and I made paper pompoms for the birthday party.
Now its Sunday and dgson and I have made gfree cakes for the party and for the Xmas trifle. We are having roast topside of beef which I bought on offer at asda and cut into 3 pieces. We will have it with cauli, sprouts the last bit of broccoli and roast potatoes. I'm hoping to cadge a gfree Yorke shire pud from someone!!

  • I just bought a box of stuffing, that is the extent of my x-mas prep this year. Really cannot be bothered and my husband doesn't care either. He usually goes around to his Mum's house on boxing day so he can have dinner there, if he can be bothered to go.:D

We are really getting into the Christmas spirit.:rotfl:

Wort, snap, I'm in middle of watching Lone Ranger recording, paused to prep veg, and then realised it was a longer film than first thought. I'm not too far in so should be easy to pick up later

Snap again, but my beef offer was Morries, similar dinner, but Yorkie is a gluten stuffed one from Iceland:)

Wish you'd have got a Swiss roll for me while out, I sort of need one for a trifle I fancy making over the holiday period, and some sausage rolls while you're there please;)

Those are on my list if I get anywhere near shops tomorrow
Veg prepped, only needs cooking now, cast iron pot still in soak:o

Had another stroll down Quality Street after lunch, that's my exercise for today:D
