    Evening

I've been busy doing nothing today :D caught up on some bits at home and spent the afternoon removing the cat from the table as he seems obsessed with the Christmas table decorations  nothing on there to tempt or hurt him by eating I just don't allow him on the table. At least it means he's leaving the tree alone :)

Lunch was bacon and egg as I needed to use both up. Dinner was a Thai inspired salmon with rice and some stir fry veg. There may have been a couple of mince pie consumed with a cuppa for afternoon tea :D

    Good morning everyone,

Farway - we had a spate of padlocks being cut but nothing taken. Local crime prevention reckoned a team were checking out who had valuables in their shed/garage as they would quickly replace it, those who didn't, didn't have anything worth nicking in them. We were advised to remove anything of value and a few folk did have another break in a couple of weeks later. We didn't thankfully but keep an eye out! Pot roast sounds lovely:)
Yesterday was a very domestic day and my lovely son did loads of cleaning of the bits I can't manage:D. Dinner was a simple veg stir fry with omelette shredded through it and rice.

Today will be more domestics and I've more logs arriving. I think I'm CFO tonight but either way dinner will be southern fried chicken, salad, coleslaw and a baked spud.

Ended up having a quick hm pizza for tea. With Greek yogurt and a kiwi. I'd eaten 4 satsumas at work, 2 on each break. As I'm starting with the cold that everyone else had!!!
Woke up late, then realised the hairdresser was coming in 10 mins!! Ran round opening windows and straightening. So much for a lazy day! Just had toast and 2 cups of tea. Now going with d's to pick up a birthday cake for her granddaughter.

It's official - supermarkets are now "rammed" for Christmas already....

I got to my usual one not long after 9 a.m. - with the intention of just buying single persons "shopping as normal" before all the "family shoppers" descended doing all sorts of "buying extra for Christmas".

Well - that was the plan - but obviously a lot of the "family shoppers" were already in there shopping like mad - so place was crammed and found myself taking "last available" of some things I wanted and missing out/substituting for a couple of things.

BTW - Having worked out that Pastures' ban is due to last till 30 December (and knowing MSE doesn't tend to lift bans promptly as soon as they are over) better say "HAPPY CHRISTMAS PASTURES" now - as I know you'll be reading along/albeit unable to post.

Caron, cutting padlocks, never thought of that one, makes sense and a very clever idea by scallywags

The salted caramel ice cream was excellent, I was not sure I'd like it TBH, but not salty at all, judging amount must be the clever bit, like a pinch of salt in cooking, adds something but not overpowering the rest

Today's a lazy day, porridge duly scoffed for breakfast, but had an orange with t instead of banana, the bananas are still bit greenish, I deliberately tried to pick the less ripe ones to see me into XCFO

Lunch is going to be a fried egg sarnie

Dinner hope to be some of the LO beef, plus breaking into the XCFO Aunty B frozen roasties, like wise mini Yorkies, and if I remember the yonks old frozen roast parsnips, plus fresh sprouts & carrots

I'm strolling down Quality Street still, visited two already this morning:o

I hope to remove one of the ethical lamb chops to defrost for tomorrow, I'll use the fresh broccoli with that. I had hoped to find some "new" spuds but there were none suitable yesterday, so baked will have to do

PS, and just read Money post, looks like lazy day choice was a good one, our local area gets absolutely s rammed at holiday times, due to poor road planning while bunging in more shops & houses

  • My local shop was packed when I went in there just now!

I've had crisps and a coke. I don't know how I'm losing weight as I'm eating total crap lately.:p

I haven't had those pesto veggies yet so have to eat them. I told my husband to make himself eggs on toast. I don't cook eggs as I'm vegan. In fact eggs used to make me hurl even when I was just vegetarian.:D

The roast beef dinner, using Aunt B roast & Iceland mini yorkies, plus own fresh veg, was a success

I remembered to use the long lost frozen parsnips & burnt them, I suspect they had been in freezer so long they became whatever is the freezer equivalent of old & wrinkly. Still ate them though;)

Also remembered the Lamb chop for tomorrow, now defrosting in the fridge:j

Although I seldom cook for one, I really enjoy lurking your thread and will miss Pastures New's posts :( That's so sad she'll not be able to post her xmas plans.

I really enjoy reading about all your shenanigans :o:cool:
