Ouch re the boiler Caronc typical it waited until you have a full house to fail
It sounds like you've had a good catch up with you family WortI've just tried to speak to my eldest sister to wish her a happy birthday, I'll have to try again later but as I left a message at least she knows I was thinking of her
I skipped breakfast this morning and seemed to be punished with a horrid headacheor it could have been 2 hours of listening to an old neighbour complaining  when I dropped round a card and present. It did get better with a painkiller and lunch so was probably a blood sugar thing :rotfl: I popped into T Express for milk and picked up a couple of YS custard tarts which was [STRIKE]a nice and healthy [/STRIKE] lunch
Dinner will be LO pork and mushroom stroganoff and I must wrap the last of the presents
You're a brave man facing the SMs tomorrow Farway  I'm working from home tomorrow morning and have no intention of leaving the houseLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Up in the dark, woke early but couldn't get back to sleep, at least gave me chance to write my last card, for my neighbour, we sort of watch out for each other, both living alone, with kids around but married & elsewhere
Breakfast usual porridge
I'm waiting for bit more daylight, and commuters, to clear before I trot off to S/M for a mooch & milk, but I will give up if I spot queuing for car parks, I'm not that desperate
Brambling, report from my spy, Chichester was rammed full yesterday. We both missed that at least
Lunch, going to be last of the beef in a sarnie with salady bits
Dinner may be the same, ease up a bit before Christmas overload, I opened another pack of mince pies last night, not as nice as the YS posh ones, still scoffed two though, with more of the salted caramel ice creamEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Morning all, I would gladly of got a Swiss roll for you Farway! Did you enjoy the beef? We did the gravy was excellent, didn't manage to get a yorkie tho!! I've enough left to put some slices in gravy in the freezer for another Sunday, and left a few slices out for a sandwich.
I'm not sure what time dgson is leaving today, we usually go to the crib service at church at 6pm but last year it was done by someone who does the Sunday school. .Unfortunately she wasn't very good, and it was very boring, the old vicar used to make it fun for the kids and we'd sing all the well known carols. So I don't think we're going.
Yesterday at the birthday party, had a good laugh with family, I had a couple of wine and some crisp as I didn't want to ruin my beef dinner by eating too much.
Last night we watched Johnny English and Alice in Wonderland.
Hoping for a lazy day ! Famous last words and hope my Xmas present is to be free of this cold!!Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
Good morning everyone,
Just popping in to say my boiler is fixed:D:D, thank goodness as it was -5C when I got up:eek::eek:
The kids are out just now so I'm enjoying a peaceful cuppa and a roll and marmalade before the chaos resumes;).
We are off to my sister's tis evening to kick the festvities off and I want to get a fair bit of prep done before we go. My younger son will bone the turkey later and we'll get it cooked. It's a decent size so I'll probably freeze a leg raw for future use. Must get the mountain of pigs and blankets prepped and start the trifle.
Happy Christmas everyone:xmassign::xmassign:0 -
Back home around 1030 after SM mooch, it was not too bad, a lot of commuters must have day off I guess
There were YS Christmas reductions to be had, stuffed fresh turkey crowns in Iceland, £9, and fresh whole turkey in Asda £15, both half price it said. Both much too big for CFO, still be eating it at Easter:)
Did get YS 2 x 350g of beef chunks in Iceland, £1.50, I've had them before and found them lean & tasty, now in freezer for 2019:money:
Asda was getting crowded about 9 ish, but did get the longed desired Swiss roll + milk, main task completed
W/rose was far easier, only queue was the click & collect turkey one so I scooted round, and found more YS Christmas non essentials I'd never buy at full price food
YS Bramley apple & cream turnovers, overheard someone saying they were delish,
YS Yeo Valley lemon curd yoghurt
I think I'll combine those two, could even be for breakfast tomorrow before I tootle off. Full of fruit;)
There was also YS C & O pasty, plus coleslaw & spud salad, sounds like tonight's dinner, with added salady bits
Lunch was last of the beef + salad bits sarnie
That on offer beef joint did me proud, If I spot one in next few days I'll get another for freezer
Still have to clean the manky pot it was cooked in:(
Wort, yep, enjoyed the beef roast dinner, and the Lone Ranger:)Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Did my mercy dash to T after work - only came away with some hot cooked chicken thighs reduced to 50p, some double cream, choc muffins, some of my fave white soft bread rolls & a piece of beef steak for XCFO lunch. Decided not to buy too much cos I'll never eat it all.
There were 3 chicken thighs in the bag, 2 now in the fridge waiting til tomorrow brunch. Then steak for tea.0 -
Brambling, report from my spy, Chichester was rammed full yesterday. We both missed that at least
Definitely glad to miss that  I like Chichester but when it's really busy it can be a little claustrophobic and almost impossible to find somewhere to have lunch
Glad the boilers fixed Caronc
I sort of worked this morningchecked and dealt with emails but that's about it and gave up at 1pm
. Then went up to the garden centre for a late lunch with my sister which turned out to be a piece of lemon meringue pie :shhh: that's two non healthy lunches in a row
it was lovely and quiet
Dinner will be the last of the LO pork I realised yesterday there was too much for dinner, it's did well and fed me three meals. I need to make some cheese straws first I'm told I won't be allowed in without them tomorrow  I'll make tonight and cook before leaving tomorrow as they always taste better cooked the same day.
If I don't manage to post tomorrow morning Merry Christmas :santa2: :xmassign:Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

UP & washed & brushed, just waiting to be collected for the day at DD's, via DS's
Breakfast of apple turnover with cream, topped with lemon curd yoghurt, I just may continue the fruit theme by opening my chocolate orange, that'll be 3 of my 5 a day before noon:D
See you all after the festivities, hope you all have a lovely dayEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
