Pastures is obviously going to be "on a break" (for a while?) from MSE. I've just noticed.
Presumably a discussion thread she's been commenting on on Discussion Time entitled "Boys can have periods too" - referring to an article in newspapers in 16 December 20180 -
Good morning everyone,
Oh poor PN hopefully she'll be back before too long!
Hall bulb is still hanging in there
It's actually a nice, not too chilly morning shame we've gales and rain due in later. It's to turn quite mild though.
Made the most of the weather and replenished my indoor log stacks.
Tesco has been and the caulis are a decent size well worth 29p
I'm just off to clean my patio doors as they are filthy. (Nothing like a bit of sunshine to show up the grime:rotfl:)
I wasn't hungry earlier and didn't bother with breakfast. I'll have an early lunch which will involve some of the roast veg I made yesterday. Dinner tonight remains undecided.0 -
I've just made us Quorn burgers in white baps. My husband said "Nice baps" when I handed it to him. He is so immature.:rotfl:0

The weather Saturday was atrocious! Absolutely Baltic in work even upstairs in the staff room so I couldn't get warm on my break!! I'd made pasta on Friday tea with a jar of sauce that I opened who knows when?? But I couldn't see no mould so on it went. I took lo to work so at least had a warm lunch.
Sat evening I had pakoras and chips with garlic mayo. Then I was at an 18th party, she'd done gfree food so felt like I had to eat some!!. Even given a couple of sandwiches to bring home.
They were lunch today!!!!
Sunday I was working, when I got home I put a couple of spuds in the oven and had cheese and beans on with salad.
I've got chicken jalfrezi for tea today. With yet another mince pie and cream! Yum.:jFocus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -

One must never let an opportunity for innuendo go by:D
You missed your opportunity when you handed it to him, "Your's is a a big un":D
Hope I don't finish up in sin bin with PN
Back from tea hunt, two packs to try out, time will tell if worth the extra
Mid morning was a tea & cake offer, coffee & walnut today
Late lunch was dry sarnie in Debenh@@m's, supposed to have been turkey and bacon, but bacon had been crossed off the ingredients list, and the turkey was pressed bits of some bird sort of thing, very unsatisfactory. Lesson learnt, avoid food from there in future, plenty of choice around
Looked in the choc shop, gasp, Very much the sourced from a special tree in the Andes & one square a week sort of prices, gave that a miss even though it all looked delicious
Back down with a bump, tonight is CBA, I've got a tin of sausages & beans, only just out of date, so I'll have that, maybe nuke the few LO roast spuds to go with the feastEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

:rotfl:Farway - sounds like you've sussed what sort of comments land people up in the "sin bin" on this forum then (and other places too), ie comments no-one would have batted an eyelid about in the 1970s/1980s/probably even 1990's
- but it's 2018 and so :undecided:doh:
I think, on balance, that's almost as bad as telling people "You're special/gorgeous/etc/etc" to make them feel better - when...actually....no.......they're not....
I've absolutely no idea what one is supposed to say at the moment when someone really is "special", "gorgeous" or whatever....0 -

Farway - you'll be getting modded. Good response though :rotfl:
This site seems very random about what does & doesn't get through. I got a post remove because I mentioned a gardening offer which should have been on another board apparently - who knew not me anyway! With yet another mince pie and cream! Yum.:j
My nephew came round this afternoon to finish off some college work. It's the final day of their bathroom work and he wasn't sure if he the electric and water would be off at his house so came here instead. I did check he'd had lunch which he had but he still managed to scoff 3 tunnocks teacakes and a packet of crisps. He's built like a pipecleaner but eats like a horse! With my boys older and not at home anymore I kind of forget how much 20 year boys eat:eek::eek:.
I'm a bit off balance tonight a combination of a rather bendy morning and a storm coming in. Consequently dinner is going to an easy one of bratwurst, the rest of the roast veg and gravy. I might bung a portion of cooked rice from the freezer in the bowl as well. I'll see what the portion size looks like first though as I don't really want LOs. Lunch was a random combination of hot roast veg, grated cheddar and hot sauce in a bread roll. Surprisingly tasty:).
My Dad is coming for lunch tomorrow, the final one of the 12 meals I promised him for his gift last Christmas. This month's theme is "chips". I asked him what he fancied, usually he leaves it up to me but straightaway he said he would like HM wedges with onion gravy and grated cheese so that will be what I'm making tomorrow. I had visions of cooking something with sweet potatoes or polenta or halloumi but if that is what he fancies that is what I'll make.:) I'll continue the monthly lunches next year not as a gift but because he has really enjoyed them and he's not so keen on meeting up in the evening these days.0 -

A quick clock in before I'm out on the tea hunt in Winchester, nice & sunny at the moment, hope it stays that way, and for brambling who is in the opposite direction also mooching around a cathedral city]
Hope the weather stayed sunny for you Farwayit tried to rain in Chichester lunchtime but had gone by the time we finished lunch
. It was busier than I expected for a Monday but I suppose it is the week before Christmas
Quick one for Brambling- if in m and s look at the £15 jeggings they are done in different colours and wash well don't go baggy on knee . I've got loads they are elastic at waist and stretchy mix between legging and jean.useful if fluctuating between sizes.
Thanks Wort I'm popping in there tomorrow so will check them out. My sister informed me today that my jeans were too baggy in the bum so it seems I'm down to one pair of trousers I can wear
Caronc the only time I can remember my mum swearing is when her homemade mincemeat exploded in the cupboard  we came home to find the mess :rotfl: my sister was saying today that she can remember as a child grating the suet from the butchers for mincemeat and suet puddings, thank goodness you could buy it in boxes by my childhood _pale_ I'm told it did make better dumplings etc
Money I think speaking to people face to face is different than online communication as we can hopefully read expressions and gauge whether we need to reword, but there will always be some people online and in RL who will choose to take things the wrong way. If in doubt say nothing although I should admit with family and close friends I'm not known for my tact  :rotfl: hopefully PN won't be in the sin bin for too long
Lunch was pizza which I'm still recovering from, too big and too much wheatit was worth it
but I should have given up sooner than I did, therefore I couldn't manage any cake at the cathedral cafe Farway and they had some lovely looking lemon and cream sponge. No dinner tonight as I'm still full from lunch
