Looked at the cheeses for baking / fondue. They've a cheddar & wine one & a brie or camembert in a nice round ceramic pot - but again too expensive for what it is. They'd take up a quarter of my £20 budget.

They see some people coming don't they .... most of that price is the sucker tax for it having been prepared :)

    Show off! :P

Total tot up for my day today has been:

    2 bits of toast/marg
2 bits of toast containing the last of the grated cheese box, not enough cheese but CBA grating more (and washing up the grater)
    3 digestive biscuits.

NI my sister picked up the camembert in a pot in aldi but when she looked where the normal cheese was it was only 1£ something,in a cardboard packet. Last day off today not sure what I'm doing, except to go to the cemetery, with dd2 as it's hubby's birthday. Tonight I've got a meal with my niece for her graduation. Quite fitting really as she's hubby's goddaughter.

  • My God, I'm sick of hearing about Brexit.:rotfl: If there is another ref I'm tempted not to vote.:D

I'm up early as my husband is on early shift this week. I've had a bath, got dressed, vacuumed and now the clean laundry is in the dryer. Very productive so far today.:A

I've only had a cup of coffee and I think I'm either going to have tofu scramble on toast or just cereal with almond milk.

When I got home I could hear the owl hooting from my neighbours tree I couldn't see him but he had a lot to say it's the first time I've heard him this year, lovely to stand and listen to :)

Lovely. I haven't heard or seen a wild owl in years! I did see one at a festival I went to a few years ago, Witchfest!:D

In all honesty, I've pretty heard nothing about it whatsoever ... because I've not read it. Because "too much about too little" is published at every pause in a sentence made by anybody so you never actually know what's what, just some skewed version of it.

However.... I had to go round to a neighbour's house about 3 weeks ago and was invited in. Their living room contained a MASSIVE telly and it was pumping out Sky News .... and by God I needed a rest when I left there, I felt I'd been pumped up with the fear of God and drained of all hope.... because it was just pumping, pumping, pumping the word and other doom-laden stories! No WONDER so many people are obsessed - I bet they all have/watch Sky news!!

No joke, the householder asked me about "B" and I said "haven't a clue mate, not been listening" and he started ranting in fear at me about stockpiling food, I'll need it .... do it .... I'll need it. Had to run out of there, their invitation to "pop round again" fell on deaf/scared ears.
  • I've also been tuning out anything Brexit-related all year! I'm of the view that once everything's settled, and I need to actually know something, I'll hear about it.

Talking about camembert cheese... I actually bought one this week! I had a sudden desire for it with a freshly cooked baguette! I'll probably have it for my tea tonight... I think it was £1.50 from Tesco. I'll just need to have a quick google of cooking times and temps, as I do usually buy baking ones, but they didn't have any in.

  • I had a yoghurt and some walnuts instead. Must be the nut talk on here.:D

I'm going to make a batch lot of soup today as it is chilly!:)

Sounds like my mother-in-law.:rotfl: I used to have BBC news on most of the day, actually. :o I've really taken a break the past couple of months as I'm bored rigid.

    Good morning everyone,
Yesterday didn't go according to plan, bl00dy "wonky donkey" battered down the stable door and flattened me:(. Thankfully meds and rest done their job and I'm back on my feet, there'll be no bendy stuff for me today! FR chop is in the fridge as dinner ended up being a very late, very so-so RM cottage pie from the freezer. I'll have the chop tonight instead. Needless to say Christmas cards are still not written, definitely a "to do" for today:)
  • Good luck with the xmas cards Caronc! I did mine yesterday, and dropped them in the postbox on the way home from tutoring, to save "future me" the job of doing it today!
