A quick pop in before the grandchildren arrive and we go Lego looking in Chichester
It's a lovely sunny day with blue sky as well, makes walking around more of a pleasure, could even get into the Cathedral grounds for the autumn colours, depends on whinge count by then;) Actually they are not bad in that respect, not old enough for teenage sulks

Farway I've been to Chichester cathedral's eatery many times, although it's been a while since I've had lunch there, over several summers I've watched the peregrine chicks on CCTV from the garden and watch the parents flying around. They do a nice cheese scone as well ;) hope you enjoy the Lego exhibit tomorrow :)

All we see are seagulls the size of chickens on the outside tables eating the left overs. They'd scoff a peregrine for breakfast IMO, evil looking things with huge hooked beaks:D

Just had call, kids on the way, catch you later

PS CFO bit, porridge for breakfast

    Good morning everyone,
It's cold, wet and miserable here this morning an ideal day for a lazy Sunday. I'm still feeling pretty rubbish with the lurgy so happy to hunker down indoors for the day.
No sign of my son returning yet, from some photos posted on FB I think there might be a few sore heads this morning:rotfl::rotfl:
Lunch I think will be a BLT and dinner is as yet undecided.

I'm much prefer veg to fruit but try and have at least one fruit portion a day usually with my breakfast. I had a couple of satsumas this morning. I keep the fruit bowl on the coffee table so I've no excuse to forget about it.

I've no coffee table. No room for one really.... nor need. I only have one mug to put down, that doesn't need a whole table. Room's quite "large" at about 12'x13' ... but with a sofa and a chair in it most of that space is taken up.

I really really really really fancy sausage rolls... trying to resist.

I could probably do away with mine but I like it. My living room is a similiar size to yours but I had no problem fitting it in.:)

Rooms are also about where doors/windows/radiators are... which can make a massive difference.

My door from the hallway is slap bang in the middle of the wall. Directly opposite that are the double patio doors - so, with having to keep that corridor of space empty to come into the room and to be able to open the patio doors and step outside it limits where you can put things down, leaving just two walls... one of which has a radiator :)

I does indeed, mine isn't ideal either as it it is the through way to the kitchen so 2 walls have doors, another one the radiator and the fourth a fireplace but thankfully it works ok.

I'm utterly starving.... had one of those satsumas earlier, but that's it for today so far.

Belly's making some really odd complaining noises....

I've retrieved from the freezer one of those pieces of fish I bought/froze the other week ... and that's in the fridge defrosting. I noticed I've beans open in the fridge, so it'll probably be fish, chips, beans later.

I am about to go out on a small round robin .... food shopping will be on the list, so I'll probably come home with sausage rolls and chocolates .... have to see how things go and what's in the shops.
  • I've just got in from Church & have made two spicy omlette sandwiches, which has used up two eggs & two bread rolls.

Currently got the block of butter on the side getting to room temp for the fairy cakes I'll make after running round the house with the hoover (need to get it done before the washer finishes & the spare room is full of clothes drying...).

Not started my any chicken soup, so I'll freeze all the LO chicken for another day.

Eggs need to be eaten by the 24th, so I'll be using 2 more for fairy cakes, hard boiling 2 for tomorrow's work sandwich & that leaves 4 to boil up for Tues/weds work lunches. I'm not buying a pack of 10 eggs again....

I cut short my round robin - an unexpected food acquisition event occurred.

I picked up a half price korma (that's now in the freezer) and a microwave pie (because, sometimes, you just spot it and have to try it .... ) which was bl00dy expensive really, but I think they're trying to get rid of the stock as they were marked down from £1.49 to 99p ... so I thought "might as well give them a try"

2 bags of favourite choccies were bought ...

But then I looked at my L1dl list of just four items and thought "they won't have one of those four, I don't now need the sausage rolls to be cluttering up the fridge ... so that leaves two items, which I can just as easily buy in 3-4 days". So I didn't go there. Shops were HEAVING with people, didn't expect that.... so I came home instead of staying out.

Wouldn't it be great if you just had to shop once a year - and everything you bought stayed fresh for a whole year :) I do hate shopping....
  • I try to shop at Aldi, as it's cheaper than T, but it's truly bedlam in there on a weekend. I just put off shopping til I really, really need to go & then do a month's worth on a weekday afternoon when I've literally no food left in the house. In between, I pick up a loaf of bread from the local big T on my way home from work.
    Shopping is a chore.....
