My mum's stretched as far as Vesta ones.

I'm trying to ban myself from using it as it always seems to cost £15 a time - admittedly this is usually for two meals worth as i can usually save half the rice and curry for the next day, but still expensive for two meals!
I can actually cook curry from scratch so i should be ashamed.... :rotfl:
If anybody wants some real, authentic, curry recipes look at http://www.thismuslimgirlbakes.com/
The curry recipes are the exact same my mum used to make.
Collecting means I also get it quicker as I'm not waiting for a delivery person to be available to be handed the next batch of bags... nor for them to find my house. I go there, in, pick up, home.
My default order is one veggie biryani. No point paying extra for chicken ... especially as you don't know if it's got "a funny bit" in it as some do tend to occasionally.
In the end, earlier, I opted instead to get stuff from the freezer. I had chips and a cheese/onion in breadcrumbs cake and some beans instead.0 -
Good evening everyone,
Thanks for the blog link Novice - this is a good site for curries too https://www.mamtaskitchen.com/:)
I can't think of the last time I had a takeaway when there is just me here. I've had two I can think of in the last 4-5 months when the one of my kids has been home a fish supper and a kebab both of which I enjoyed but it's not something I usually think of getting. My ex used to like us to have a takeaway every weekend and I think I eventually got fed up of them. I tend to buy myself something nice to cook instead. :)That said my elder son may want an Indian one tomorrow, he misses the pakora the local restaurant makes, I'll wait and see what he wants to do.
I've had a very quiet afternoon, I felt a bit rubbish with the cold so took a couple of paracetemol and went to bed for a bit. It certainly helped and apart from a horrible cough I feel a bit more like it now.:)
I just need to chop some veg - courgette, pepper, onion and sweet potato and pop it in the oven with the chicken thigh on top and some seasonings. While it's cooking I think a medicinal glass of red may well be consumed:cool::).0 -
Glad you're feeling a little better Caronc, I usually turn to the hot lemon and honey when I have a cold
Farway I've been to Chichester cathedral's eatery many times, although it's been a while since I've had lunch there, over several summers I've watched the peregrine chicks on CCTV from the garden and watch the parents flying around. They do a nice cheese scone as wellhope you enjoy the Lego exhibit tomorrow
Wednesday chips don't taste the same unless they're in paper
Just a pottering day for me today, I was going to take an old neighbour for a late birthday lunch but she postponed it for a couple of weeks and I cba to go into town for the few bits I wanted, I may walked down tomorrow, maybe see if my sister wants to share a tea cake before she has to work
It's the start of the fireworks season here, last night there was a display at the school around the corner from me which will be followed by the cricket club next week and the rugby club the following week. I did go upstairs to check on the cat and he wasn't impressed that I woke him up :rotfl: my old cat would freak out by the noise just as well he's not bothered as the rugby club is also really close to me. He will be shut in early for a while just in case
It's been a fish day todaylunch was a smoked salmon and egg salad, and dinner was bream fillets with germolata, air fry chips and green veg. Unfortunately I now want something naughty and unless I bake there's nothing in
I'm avoiding going out to T express
Right back out in the kitchen to stare in the freezer for some ideas for tomorrow :think:Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Thanks Brambling - the glass of red is definitely helping:rotfl:
I like honey & lemon if I have a sore throat, it's so soothing:).
To me the best chips are eaten on a sea wall with the wind blowing in your hair, nothing else quite beats it for me, though chips "sitting in",in a traditional cafe with an ice cream float to follow after being to the shows (fair) comes pretty close.(Add in a goldfish in a bag won after many goes on "snag a duck" and I'm whisked back 45+ years instantly:rotfl:)

I very rarely eat chippy chips but there's something about a long coastal walk followed by a bag of chips sitting people watchingsome of the best I've had were in WestBay following a 8 mile walk shared with a jack russel

1.30am I was in the kitchen toasting two crumpets, then topping them with two-tone choc spread
I'd bought the pack of crumpets some days ago and hadn't opened the pack and they were dated 20th, so I toasted two and tossed the other four in the freezer.
I also ate two of the satsumas yesterday - I have "fruit blindness" - they're in a bowl on the kitchen windowsill, but my eyes don't see them when I go in the kitchen to look for food
Today ... dunno. I've half a loaf dated BBE today ... and I've half a pint of milk, so you'd think I could make that B/B savoury pudding .... except I've eaten all the eggs, so have no eggs. *sighs*. That's the trouble with CFO, when a recipe needs more than about 2-3 ingredients it can be difficult to have all items available, so you end up wondering whether to go out shopping for what's missing, or just forget it (again).0 -
Pn :rotfl: fruit blindness , I think I have that !!!!
Yesterday after work I had fish fingers chips and beans, then still wanting something savoury I opened a big bag of black pepper crisp! And had a glass or two of wine with them. It's obligatory in my house to have them together!!;)
I knew I was working Sunday so had 2 glasses of water afterwards to dilute it !!
I've just had egg on toast for breakfast and will have the last roll I made Friday for lunch with ginger yogurt and any fruit left at work.
No clue for tea but beans may be involved as I opened a big tin.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
Farway , I wish I lived near to Chichester, my dgson would love the lego exhibition, so would I actually!Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0

I've done that often, PaturesNew. Usually I just forget it & conjure up something different.
I've 10 eggs I need to use up in the next 4 or 5 days, so it'll be egg mayo or salad sandwiches for work lunches all week.
I thought about making pancakes, but I've not enough milk.
I will be making some fairy cakes later, also useful for work lunch as I've no "sweet" things to take - usually a funsize choc bar. But I'm trying not to go food shopping this week to use up what I've already got.0
