It's nippy - one of those mornings when all the external windows are misted up on the outside (because the double glazing's doing a good job, not because it's duff)....

    What I fancy .... I don't have.
I fancy hash browns: L1dl very rarely stock them, I've found 2 bags this year.
I fancy sausages: L1dl didn't have the ones I'd prefer yesterday, so I didn't buy any as I prefer to wait and see
Beans & Eggs: Got these, but don't fancy them without the other things.

Oooooh crumpets! I bought crumpets didn't I!!! Crumpets for breakfast :)

Thanks for that Caronc . I usually get the tesc@ indian takeaway from the deli bit which is 2 for £5. When dgson comes we share 1 between us with a rice and bag of small poppadoms from there.
I will see if still on offer if I get a lift to there. :j

Tried wild partridge for tea last night. You can buy it from Aldi. Very disappointing though. I won't be getting it again.

    Worth trying I guess.

Och that's a shame. I've never cooked it but have had it and enjoyed it but I think it can dry out really easily as it's so lean. The last time I had it, it was roasted/braised with chestnuts, mushrooms, green lentils and bacon lardons and that worked really well.

    Good morning everyone,
As the song say "What a difference a day makes"......
After three days of wind & rain the sun is shining so it's gardening for me today :) . It's time for me to compost the remaining bedding plants and empty the greenhouse. I'm not sure if I'll get it all done but hopefully will make a good dent in it as it's back to wind & rain tomorrow afternoon.
Lunch will be a ham & coleslaw sarnie, I was planning mince & tatties tonight but to me that is a poor weather meal so might just freeze the mince and have a pork steak instead with spuds and various veg:). I'll see what I think later.

Up at silly o'clock, the neighbour has a motion activated security light which is bright enough to show through my thin curtains. Normally it is off, must have been a cat / fox that triggered it. :(

Although our back gardens are not easily accessible it does add a touch of extra security, assuming a burglar with their eyes burnt out would not be able to see where they were going

Sorry about you recent weather Caron, ours is another sunny day, forecast is nearly a scorcher, well over 20 they say. I'm in though, "office work" but it'll warm the conservatory up nicely

Very early breakfast was porridge, honey, banana & yoghurt

Normal time breakfast was CFO standby of cold pizza:o

Lunch, probably ham & salad sandwich

Oddly with talk of MFO Indian / Chines RMs, I'd already taken a L's RM curry out to defrost. I only bought them because they were YS, are found they are spicier than I like, but I have them and need some freezer space

I've done that, not partridge but ostrich and the like. As you say, OK to try but so far nothing I've tried like that has ever been up to much

£16.61/Kg. I saw that when I was looking at what's on offer/where last night.

Last time I weighed myself (about a month ago) I was 8 stone 4 lbs (52.6Kg).

I mostly eat pies, chocolates, crisps, chips ... and similar fodder.

It's not WHAT you eat that makes you put weight on, it's skimping/balancing the quantities. Eat smaller portions and you can have pie more often :)

I prefer to eat really healthy and just occasionally have those naughty treats. I struggle to skimp.

I definitely expected better. It tasted very bland. Maybe I didn't do enough to make it work. It's not the cheapest meat though and as a game meat, I suppose I expected something different..... Chicken, might be boring, but has twice as much flavour and is juicier.

That's the one. See, I don't mind paying a little bit for the occasional treat. I spotted it and just thought, "I've not had any game meat in a while, years in fact, let's try it" but it just tasted a bit nothingy and had a strange smell which is apparently common due to the way they process game meat. I'm not bothered about the smell, but the lack of flavour thrown in with the price.

Nah y'alright. Give that a swerve from now on.

I wouldn't have expected it to taste bland Stoke sounds definitely overpriced for what you got.
A couple of times a year I will treat myself to guinea fowl as a change from chicken, I like it as it's slightly "gamey" but not dry etc.
Farway - I've had ostrich twice. The first time from birds grown near where I was on holiday and really liked it. The second time from a SM and it was as tough as old boots.

That's my greenhouse cleared out & tidied up for winter, I'm ready for my feet up for a couple of hours now before I start on the bedding plants. I picked the remaining tomatoes which will hopefully fully ripen in the conservatory.
It is really quite warm outside and I've been shedding layers all morning:D, it's been a few weeks since it was short sleeves weather so I'm making the most of it!

Lunch was a quick ham & coleslaw sandwich with cherry toms and a cup a soup.
