Yep, weather back to normal sunny day, bit breezy but I'm not going anywhere so of no concern. Too cold to sit & read in the conservatory though, seems like that may be on hold until April / May 2019
The family size mince & onion [pie was nice, agreed PN, much better filling / pastry ratio than individual ones. However now I've got CFO curse of half a cold pie, along with LO tinned salmon & LO gammon steak
Breakfast was warming porridge etc
Then made a new batch of yoghurt
Lunch will be more of the LO salmon, with salad in a sandwich
Dinner, think it will be the LO gammon steak, eggs & chips, maybe grill a tomato if I think of it
Gardening today will be listening to the local radio 'phone in and maybe browse tomato seeds on line. A busy Sunday, but next Sunday there is an Apple day at nearby nursery, and I've got an apple tree itch that needs scratchingEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Stirfry for main meal here today - ie lunchtime today then, as I'm off to the cinema with a friend later.
Finally identified a couple of plants that have come up in my garden - from potting earth I thought wasnt "doing anything".It's bucksthorn plantain - which I've never had before.
Quick google later and a quick nibble on one of the leaves and I gather younger leaves are usable for salad and older leaves probably better in a stirfry - so stirfry it is. Wish I'd thought to get some tofu out of the freezer - as I know that "put it on metal" trick to defrost something isnt likely to work in only about an hour.0 -

Can't see the sun in the house here... so it's bl00dy nippy. 59F indoors. Went out to the shop - it's sunny/warm out there! WARM! Checked the temperature and it's 70F in the sun.... next house won't do that to me.0 -

.
It's an odd size, says it is 3 portions, 1/4 not enough, half probably too much, but I had less cabbage so that's OK:D
Warmed up a bit in the conservatory, put the convection / fan heater on in there while I ate my lunchtime sandwich & listened to radio, if the weather holds maybe i'll still be using it a bit longer
Dinner still gammon etcEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Fridays curry got postponed to Saturday, as dd1 came to visit and offered to go to the gfree chippy for fish and chips as a treat :T they were delicious, I don't get them often as I don't drive and they are too far to walk to.
Today I've worked and am hungry so teas in now. Potato dauphinoise, cauli, and 2 chicken drumsticks.
Tomorrow will be same pots and veg with a salmon fillet.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
Lunch was last night's rice nuked... eaten with a fork from the plastic box I'd nuked it in.
For tea I've just made/eaten: a toasted oven bottom muffin, sliced in half/two halves + baked beans + grated cheddar.
Didn't have anything more exciting in the house.0 -
 everyone - remember me?
I'm back to CFO after a lovely few days with my son here. The room swap has been completed, not an easy task as it involved recabling my broadband/ TV box as well as moving an enormous dresser. I helped as much as I could mainly by trying not to get in the way.:rotfl: I love my new rooms and have decided to use some of my "new bathroom" cash to install a woodburner. At present there is a gas fire in what is now the living room which I can't operate as it is a mock fire basket and the on switch is underneath it so it just sits there gathering dust. I know from being at my friends that I can manage a stove so I'm hoping to get the work done before Christmas.
Food has been a real mix this week, on the night of maximum chaos we indulged in a lovely but very unhealthy kebab & pakora takeaway. I enjoyed every last calorific bite of it:D. On Friday I took my son out for lunch to say thanks for all his hard work. Apart from that meals have been fairly quick and easy. Yesterday it was nice and sunny though cold and I manage to get the remaining (200 or so) Spring bulbs potted while my son serviced his car. We were both bushed come evening so dinner was a quickly put together naan bread pizza. I'm glad I got what I needed to get done outside done yesterday as the weather has been atrocious and perishing today so I was happy to cosy up on the sofa with my book. Dinner tonight is spaghetti with various lurking bits from the fridge and some chopped fresh tomato as I have a large one that needing used as it's treading the line between ripe and needing composted.
ETA - spaghetti & bits ended up as "rice & bits" - lovely spoonable bowl food for a cold, wet & windy night!0 -
Sounds like you had a productive week Caronc
has your son gone home for a rest :rotfl:
After yesterday's rain it was a lovely sunny day again today, I walked into town with my sister for a cup of tea and a tea cake late morning. I've been eyeing up some curtains for my lounge / dining room and dragged her in for a second opinion to find them not just half price but the shop had a 20% off everything this weekend including sale items. Luckily they had 2 pairs the correct sizetoo be honest they were cheaper than I could have made them for and I had someone to help carry them home
. It was probably just as well the shop with the sofa I want was shut  but I might have to go back next Saturday as their 20% off sofas finishes next week. My sister is such a bad influence on me, she is that little devil on my shoulder saying go on buy it
Lunch was said tea cakeI made minestrone soup for the next few lunches this afternoon and had steak with mash potatoes mixed with cheese and spring onions and green veg for dinner. I think the food in my freezer is expanding  I have eaten out of it several days this week and there seems to be no room to fit anything , not even a wafer thin mint :rotfl:

Caronc nice to see you back
I forgot you were in midst of swapping rooms and wondered where you were!
I'm glad you're pleased with it. I like to change up my rooms for the season. I have my check wool curtains up, bargain from b and m .also cushions swapped out and fur throws on couches! Lovely and snug with the tea lights and candles at night.
I hope your curtains bring you joy brambling!:jFocus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
I need to clean, and also portion up the cats food for the freezer my least favourite job I don't like handling raw meat !!
I've got washing in and if it stays bright will have another go at the tiny weeds that seem to have invaded my front garden . I've tried 3 times to clear them they are so small it's hard to pull them out .Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0
