    Evening :)

Money you need to go rummaging on pin interest and through your cookery books to find some interesting healthy meals, otherwise you will get bored and fall off the diet wagon. Goods about the size 12s :D

Stoke you can have too much of a good thing I love prawns but there is a limit :)

I'm assuming your cold Flubberyzing is the danger of working with children, the little darlings are full of germs :rotfl: hopefully you're be over the worst of it by Monday, just take it easy over the weekend and look after yourself

I'm glad to finally get to the end of this week :D I'm usually really busy the first 5 days of the month with a strict deadline, however with 9 hours of meetings this week I lost more than a day of my time and I was also fixing mistakes made when I was off last month  The satisfaction of getting everything finished on time was slightly marred by invites to 3 more long meetings next week :( unfortunately they're from my manager so not a good career move to decline :D he tells me it's because I'm the 'expert' on the system we're discussing

Lunch was vegetable lasagna from the freezer unfortunately eaten on the run  dinner was stuffed chicken thighs, marmite roast potatoes and green veg

I'm hoping to meet a friend for lunch tomorrow although the trains aren't looking too good for her with South West trains on strike, we're going to play it by ear. Neither of us want to drive and park in Chichester on a Saturday  if we miss tomorrow it will be another month before we are both free :o with the threat of rain we will have to move from morning coffee to lunch to tea :rotfl:

I ended up having a portion of chips, with a squirt of ketchup.

I'd got a yearning for chips when I popped to the launderette on an emergency/unexpected wash run ... and the chippy 3-4 doors along had its doors open and I could smell them cooking. I nearly snapped at that point and nearly bought a bag.... but I came home sans chips.

So, chips .... followed by choccies this evening :)
  • Brambling - You're probably right - I certainly have various Pinterest things "saved".

But I do have the cookbooks still from back when I did Slimming World diet before and a couple of folders of recipes I've saved that "fit in" with this one way or another.

I did "break out" and buy a mini bottle of wine - on the grounds of "maybe", rather than a bottle of champagne mentioned earlier.

One of my awful neighbours is selling up:j:beer::j:beer:. But I do know I'd better "reserve judgement" unless and until their place is actually sold and I see when that is/what their replacement is like. The "reserving judgement" being that I'd lay odds they are hoping to sell to someone just like them - whereas I'm hoping the new neighbour will be someone just like me iyswim. I don't actually think their house is very saleable - for a variety of reasons - so it could be a while until I know how "that cookie will crumble".

That's the trouble... you see badduns leave and cheer... then you realise, you've no idea what's coming next. Next lot could be the same, or worse! Then you have to spend your time watching them ... see what sort they are. It's tiring :)

    'Morning all

Rain due here soon, dark & dull out but I'm not going anywhere

I ended up with tinned salmon + salad sandwiches for dinner, CBA to even bung frozen chips in Actifry & plate up a meal:o
I suppose from nutrition viewpoint it is much the same for bread as frozen chips, protein, starch, fat and God knows what else

Then I had more bread, with HM jam on, healthy sort of, then I had one with choc spread on, not healthy

    And two Club biscuits:o

Back to more conventional food today, for breakfast, porridge, banana, HM yoghurt & honey

Lunch will be tinned salmon & salad sandwich

Because of cold & rain due I've taken a Family size mince & onion pie out to defrost. The plan for dinner is some pie, with mash & steamed veg

Brambling, hope you made Chichester with your friend. I find Sunday's are best, free parking and not so crowded, of course that assumes there is an option.
I think there's an art exhibition on, but we seem to concentrate on Tim Peake & Lego with the grandchildren:D

Money and I must be in some sort of psychic relationship. I also have neighbours leaving - unfortunately they are the nice but vaguely irritating ones rather than the ones I really want to move.

Not sure how long it will be before we get the new people. The flat is a rental and I haven't yet got over the amount at which it was advertised. About a year ago a local EA told me I could rent my flat for a ridiculously high £X - upstairs (identical to mine but imho not quite as well kept) was advertised at £X plus £250. It will either be a flat share (noisy youngsters) or a family (noisy even younger youngsters).

    All my fingers are crossed.
  • Admits that's why I wouldn't even look at flats - even for my "starter home". I was renting a flat - with neighbours on all possible sides (top/bottom/left/right). I couldnt complain about the flat itself (other than smaller than I really needed - but I knew that). It had a rather nice outlook too - greenery and private.

But noise could (and did) percolate through the walls and ceiling.

I was absolutely set too on a detached when I moved last time - as maintenance problems could (and did) percolate through from the attached next door housing on my starter home I did get (ie typical 2 bed Victorian terrace), ie as well as noise coming through. I told the neighbours - and they did precisely nothing about it. That didn't go down well with me - as, when one of them said something one time to me, they were invited to come in and have a look for themselves and told that if something needed fixing - then I'd fix it.

    Afternoon all (just),

I've had a busy morning in the pouring rain.
Treated myself to a coffee out, first thing. Then drove over to the next town for my yearly eye check. It happens to be the town I grew up in, yet apart from my eye check-up, I never go. It always feels a bit strange to go over there. I feel a strange mix of feeling completely at ease, yet completely not, all at the same time!
I've been going to this same opticians for 30+ years. They're a family run business and absolutely lovely. I continue to go because you get a far nicer, more pleasant customer experience. To me, their excellent service is worth the extra faff of getting there.

Popped into Waitrose for chicken soup and more orange juice before coming home. My cold turned into a real stinker overnight, and I didn't sleep at all well.
I'll take a sleeping tablet tonight, which'll proper knock me out! Nothing to get up for tomorrow, so that's fine!

I may be being a glass half empty person, as the block is pretty solid with brick internal as well as external walls. Definitely a tad more noise percolates than in my previous detached house but not as much as in a lot of terraced houses.

I'm still just grateful that flogging the house gave us each enough to house ourselves. The period I spent renting was horrible.

    I love a potato croquette!!!

In fact, I was looking at some in Aldi this morning... The shelf label said they had regular ones and cheddar ones... I'd have got some cheddar ones, but only regular to be found. So didn't bother.
