The original dish doesn't use courgettes so no need :)
(Though I do like this version....;))

The muffin with tomatoes/boiled egg didn't get eaten. They were bought half price with that day's date and immediately frozen; defrosted yesterday morning and filled, they need to be breakfast today.

It's nippier here. I had the gas serviced in the week, so the heating works - but when I woke up this morning thinking "bit nippy, surprised the heating didn't come on", I then realised that I'd reset the dial back to its usual 0 after the boiler man had left :)

Top tip: Heating doesn't come on if you've not turned the thermostat on at all.

Two sausage rolls will be lunch.

Congratulations flubberyzing! Hope you a fab day.
Last night was indian takeaway at my sisters as her hubby was away , so we had a girly get together, with sis in law and other sister, plus my brother came a bit later. Garlic chicken for me with a taste of everyone else's! I'd decided on a less spicy dish than usual, but then was disappointed that it didn't have heat:o tbh none had much bant to them.
We had a bottle of pink tattinger which sis in law had received as an anniversary present and brother won't drink. But we followed that with a couple of bottles of cheap rose !
In bed with hot chocolate at 11 ish. And fell asleep reading my book!!

Dgson is here later and has requested chicken tacos. So that's tea sorted, we had them last week and need to use the crispy shells any way before they go soggy. I will add a bit more spice as the one that came with the shells wasn't hot enough for us, and we added chilli flakes at the table!!
We may bake biscuits today as we watched a lot of cookery programmes yesterday !

  • Morning all!

I was up relatively early. Unfortunately woken by one of the kids opposite, squawking about something while his dad loaded some bits into the car. He's only about 3 though, so I'll let him off.

I'm off out in about 30 mins to meet a friend at a local manor house for a "county day". It's just about close enough to walk to, but I can't be bothered with that, so I'll drive down. It says free parking. I don't have huge hopes for it being very wowee, but it'll be nice to see my friend, and maybe there'll be a nice stall selling something tasty for lunch. I could easily eat a hog roast, or something!!

I think I'll wear my winter coat though. It's all outside, and quite exposed.

Sounds like a lovely evening wort:D

    Good morning everyone,

Grey & cold here this morning with showers forecast. Due to clear later so frost expected overnight. I think my new base layers will getting used sooner rather than later.

I've not got much planned for today as I had hoped to plant more bulbs but it's too cold and windy. I suppose I better hoover & mop the floors then as they are needing done.
My Dad popped by after he had been for breakfast at Morrisons. One of his neighbours has an allotment and gave him a bag of Ayrshire tatties & various veg yesterday. I now have two huge spuds which I'll use up when my son is home as I've already got spuds peeled for mash tonight.
Grilled cheese on sourdough with salad for lunch today. I've a pork chop defrosting which I'll have with mushroom sauce, savoy cabbage and mash.

    'morning folks
Yesterday's early morning caught up this morning, bit of a lie in with good night's kip

Usual porridge etc breakfast, made a fresh batch of yoghurt, the Greek one I used as a starter from Asda is nice, not too sharp

Sunny but chilly outside, I'll admire it from my conservatory eating my lunch of back to normal cheese & salad bits sandwich

The rump steak is looking good in it's marinade, slight change of meal plan though, I found last of the new, not yet wrinkly, spuds in the chiller drawer, so it's boiled new spuds instead of chips tonight

Where's the gun turret when you need one?;)

For lunch I had 2 sausage rolls.

My early tea was served earlier than expected as it came over all dark and I thought it was later than it was (didn't think to check the clock).

I had mini pork en croute, pur!e de pomme de terre and haricots en sauce tomate.

Well: Two sausage rolls, served with mash and beans :)

The second bag of choccies I bought yesterday were opened and some tested :)
