my ham and piccalilli sandwich at lunchtime was beyond wonderful, gorgeous. I am sure I have another 3 portions of cooked ham in the freezer, vacuumed them so they are like fresh cooked. It was trucklements piccalilli and just like when I used to make it.

My food just now is in one bowl and hot, ratatouille and chopped cooked turkey sausage and cooked spelt pearls (like barley), couldn`t help myself and I have put some piccalilli on top

re weight, ladies forget weight, weight is but a number, it is how you feel that is important. Eat well, sleep well and cut out the poisons like smoking and alcohol, moderate exercise and reduce stress if possible. For goodness sake, the weight comes off eventually, then it settles to what is needed to sustain a synergetic balance to keep you well. Fat is very much needed in women past the menopause. Why do you think nature puts it on? My mother had a stroke and her stroke ward was full of thin women

Totally realistic to want to look reasonable imo. - not in the slightest bit strange ....

    - slim not plump
    - less weight on my knees
    - able to fit back into the majority of my clothes again

Oh, okay, I just wondered about the 1970s thing.

Just vanity and the wish not to have to replace quite so many clothes that are currently too small for me.

    Vanity is fine, lol. :D

Tea was neeps and carrots with instant gravy. Eaten directly from the plastic takeaway box I'd re-nuked them in.

OMG that was tasty! If I'd had more I'd have had seconds of that straight away!

    Good evening everyone,
Today has been a bit meh - my meniere's is definitely beginning to flare up so I've been resting lots and moving very carefully......
Last of the beef in crusty roll with lettuce & mustard, some celery sticks on the side and a cuppasoup at lunchtime which I really enjoyed. The beef bone has been made into stock which I'll skim the fat off of and reduce before freezing. Pasta tonight as I cba making corned beef hash.

lol, it took you ages to decide to eat them, the thought of them. I like swede n carrots with a poached egg on top

Omlette and mushrooms down the hatch this morning, later will be berries and stewed apple with walnuts, hemp seeds and yoghurt. No idea for lunch but I have trusted soup for last meal. Don`t want meat for lunch and has to be light after cooked breakfast, probably a bowl of ratatouille with some added beans (not baked beans) or probably edamame pasta as that is just beans anyway and the pack is opened

Very windy, gusts woke me last night. I am not liking winter this year and january is so long
  • It's really gusty outside. I think it is soup weather today. I have lots of red onions in the fridge that can be chucked in.

I'm just going to have toast this morning and a yoghurt.

That reminds me that I need to buy some peanut butter in the shopping.

Could not decide what to have for breakfast so have just toasted a couple of muffins to have with a cup of tea as the pack has been opened and needs eating.

Might have an omelette for lunch before volunteering at the library this afternoon and have a pork chop tonight with some veg.

A burnt pan is soaking and the gas hob has been cleaned and dishwasher emptied. Just need to tidy the kitchen before I leave the house and put away the folded laundry.

Realised I have three sizes of trousers in the wardrobe - the size I am now - a size smaller which I want to be by summer and an "ideal" size. Once I get to a smaller size I am going to pack away the bigger sized clothes so the wardrobe is more functional.

    Good morning everyone,
It's very windy here today, it was howling during the night and hasn't improved this morning. I'm still "wonky donkey" on my feet but determined to make corned beef hash today as it is just the weather for it. I suspect corned beef may well feature for lunch as I'm really fond of a corned beef and beetroot sandwich and have some crusty rolls coming with my groceries this morning. So a bit of corned beef overload but the tin has been lurking for 2 years ish so a rare treat:D

Caron, I hope your Menieres settles soon. Dad also suffers with this and it really is a nasty condition x
