BiL had one of those doodahs on the cat flap - activated by another doodah on the cat's collar. He installed it after discovering his moggy was entertaining about a dozen neighbourhood cats in his kitchen!

Spud, cheese, beans for lunch ... bought the potatoes, so I do have to crack on and use them as often as possible so they get used up.

It's a bit early because, that's the way it works sometimes. I've not eaten today, I'm hungry, so might as well have an early lunch rather than have crumpets and end up having the spud later anyway.

G'day everyone. Having a bit of a fish fest at the mo. Got some brill and bream from the travelling fishmonger. The bream has gone in the freezer and I had half of the brill yesterday - just seasoned and lightly fried in oil with butter. Also since I haven't been eating regularly enough lately, I got some Leerdammer and prosciutto for lunchtime rolls. The latter cost a king's ransom compared to the shaped gunk passed off as ham in the supermarkets but hey I'm worth it!
I'm all set for the bank holiday now.
    We have food.
    We have wine.
We have the laundry sorted for the launderette.
    We have paint for windows.
We have varnish for the new garden gate.
    We have plants and compost!

Though possibly I might just stick with the wine.... :rotfl:

    Like your priorities pineapple:cool:

The dry weather didn't last and it's decidedlydamp, cold and drizzly so no gardening for me today. I did nip to the greenhouse to check the courgettes & cues who seem quite happy in their new home:). The second set expected of baby plants arrived so will get them potted later.
As I'm not gardening I decided I had no excuse not to sort out a minced lamb & aubergine curry for tomorrow so it's now in the SC. For tonight I've cooked turkey drumstick & veg/rice defrosting and will made a sort of soupy stew with that with the addition of a frozen chickpea/veg mix I bought to try a couple of weeks ago.
For lunch I had a roll with cold meat & carmelised onion chutney and a banana. Along with it I had a rather "different" cupasoup "Thai Chicken & Lemongrass" which when I opened the sachet the smell strongly reminded me of lemon sherbert drops or Cremola Foam. :eek:It tasted quite pleasant though despite the slighty odd aroma. I had got it as a sub for the one I usually get, not sure if I would get it again though.

Yes I frequently find I end up adding things to my shop then realising they had been discussed recently!

    Yep, now I want CRISPS:D

    Back to normal today,
    normal wake up time,
    normal porridge banana breakfast,
normal sun out, normal mooch around shops,
    normal buy YS sausage rolls:o

Lunch was a pair of the YS sausage rolls, these ones are Smart price, not too peppery for me
Polished off the last of tinned shaped pink gunk;) in last of the rolls

Dinner, planned is one of the monster baking spuds I bought on offer, with grated cheese & maybe a smidgen of salady bits

Kittie, I'm having poor germination with some of my runners as well, maybe seeds badly stored at the suppliers? My own saved from 2017 were OK

One courgette has germinated, out of 4 sown. I only need one anyway
And if I squint really hard I think I can see a flower truss forming on one of my yellow balcony toms:j

    CBA at its zenith today.

Lunch has consisted of a weeny pack of luxury choccies and a bottle of beer:o

Think that's taking single eating to its ultimate:rotfl:

Journal entry written about today's voluntary work session - as I simply don't trust anyone locally ITRW enough to talk about it.

But the plus side was a stranger discussing a Major Incident from their life recently that we both knew they couldnt have discussed with most people - and it was a Good Conversation for both of us - as I did understand that and sympathised etc.

Dinner today will be leftover roast veggies from yesterday and hummus (yep....I did go with my vague plans for yesterday in that respect and did double quantity). Think I'll have some baked potatoes with it - as I know I need to use them up.

yes I am also CBA, I think it must be the time of year, a lot to do and only one to do it. I see a couple of fine rendering cracks so that is filling my mind and I have been to the tip with a very heavy defunct tree, had to saw the root into 8, so I could lift it. Then there is flour to be used before the weather gets warm, so bread is baking in the oven. 3 x 900g loaves, hand kneaded

I must steam asparagus and jersey royals tomorrow, they were my treat this week but I forgot to do them today. I don`t like CBA but got to go with the flow and not kill ourselves and I wish I had bought 2 packs of those ridged substantial crisps

Fact: 1 packet of crisps is never enough.

In an effort to "eat up some of this random stuff in my cupboards", today I opened a strange tin of Taco Meat ... bought on a strange whim, while browsing a cheap shop. Had that with chips. Wasn't impressed. But that's one tin down anyway.
