And now it is raining as well as cold:(
No gardening today, grass cutting was on the cards because I'm dog sitting as a favour tomorrow, old Labrador named Reg, sounds my type of dog
Nil breakfast, then into L's on way to volunteering
Bit blank in L's, but did grab some bakers, this weeks offer 59p Kg and a pot of Polish jam YS LO from last week's offer, 100% black currant it says, 69p, worth a try at that price
Lunch was PB baguette, with cheese salady filling
Dinner, not really the weather for it it but CBA CFO will be one of the big bakers, with salady bits and maybe tinned tuna / mayo stuffing, or grated cheese. Not sure about that part
Having minor clear out, on our local version of Freegle, someone was looking for jam jars, I have loads, 30 bagged up & ready for collection. I always new they would be handy one day. Now I can start hoarding again:)
PS, it's decided, tuna & mayo filling for the baked spudEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Brambling- my mum cooked smoked haddock in milk (finneyaddy ), I loved it not with vinegar though, not had that for ages it's the smell that lingers forever and it's not cheap anymore!!
Not just any old vinegar Wort it had to be Sarsons malt and white pepper. The curry masked the fish smell :rotfl: I was lucky I got some smoke cod heavily reduced from the Waitrose fish counter, the price of most fish has gone up mackerel for example is no longer a cheap meal. The Waitrose near the office has good reductions and just after Xmas I picked up 9 portions of various fish from the counter for £4 and I walked away from a lot due to freezer space the shop assistant was trying to persuade me to take more:D
Lunch was smoked mackerel salad, I'm working my way through the fish drawer of the freezernot sure about dinner I didn't take anything out of the freezer this morning but I have some mushrooms which need using so maybe a mushroom omelette. Somebody brought donuts in today and it would have been rude not to have one
so something light

Good evening everyone,
Another one here with fish for tea, though not smoked fish, I had a rather lovely fish & chips takeaway:D.
I had just finished fixing my greenhouse window when my friends with the pooches called by and we ended up having a chippy tea. My sister then arrived and we all had a good catch up so all in all it's been a lovely day:D.
It's now time for a glass of wine and a bit of tv catch up.0 -

He comes to say hello most days, sometimes just for a few minutes and other times for a good while, we seem to have a mutually convenient relationship;):rotfl:0 -
The pooches would have been fine but I'm not sure the cat would have been.

I bet for many "regular and straight forward hair styles" robots can be hairdressers before too long. No more having to listen to their inane chatter ...and no more ridiculously high bill for simply sitting in a chair for 3 hours.0 -
Good morning everyone,
I enjoy my quarterly visit to the hairdressers and don't mind the chat or the cost. I doubt any robot would cope with my unruly hair.....
It was really cold overnight and there was quite a heavy frost first thing. I think today isn't going to be more overcast than yesterday but hopefully it will stay dry and I can get a bit more done in the garden. Think I'll need to be well wrapped up though as it's decidedly chilly outside.
Usual toast/fruit for breakfast and lunch will be the remaining soup with salad, crackers and cheese. Tonight I think I'll make a jerk spiced chicken & roast veg tray bake as I fancy something I can just quickly prep and pop in the oven.0 -
Morning all, breakfast of usual porridge, banana, honey & yoghurt
Reg the old Labrador has arrived, my he is a big lad, now snoozing on his blanket after a good sniff round.
Lunch may be a problem, I intend having crumpets with grilled cheese, but I've been told Reg may attempt a takeover with sad, pitiful doggy stares. Hard heart required
Bit dull outside, but I think I'll go ahead and plant out my runners, they are starting to twine around each other so need to get on with climbing up canes. I've some fleece to wrap them up if needed
Dinner, I think will be warmed up LO cauli cheeseEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
