My name is Farway, and I confess to eating a whole FB pie last night:o
I still have one to go. Bought "for nostalgic purposes" and wish I hadn't. They're never as good as you wish/expect........ chicken pasty for lunch, and a beef one for dinner
I may have some chips with it, or maybe open a tin of beans, or just eat it on it's tod0 -
If anybody shops at Sainsbobs and eats pasta, I noticed today a lot of their own brands are very much reduced in price. e.g. 85p packs at 55p.
They had quite a few at the lower price.
They didn't have the specific pasta size/shape I was looking for, so I stomped off .... but then I went back for a second look and "got sucked in" by the low price and grabbed some alphabet pasta .... I really don't know why .... it'll probably take 3-4 years for me to get through that small bag as it has limited opportunities really....
I ate the two filled rolls I made yesterday + 2 bhajis. I also had some chocolate covered peanuts and 3 chocolates from the bag I bought the other day.
What's annoyed me though is that I had a hankering for a different style of bread roll I could've made with those, but as I'd already made the rolls differently I was stuck with what I'd made. But, next week, I'll be stuffing them using the "picnic loaf" method (slice off top, scoop out middle bread, shove stuff inside, pop lid back on, squash in foil/clingfilm and weight it down with something in the fridge overnight.
In a bit, for tea, I'll have the final portion of the quiche lorraine I bought yesterday. I sliced it into 3. Pack said serves 4, but I decided to push the boat out with big portions ... ate two pieces yesterday.
In my food forays today I specifically resisted buying: multi-pack of Walkers' new flavours; multi-pack of Walkers C/O; bag of doughnuts.
Also, after 27 years of wanting one, randomly purchased a "tower fan"... for those 2 days/year it gets hot enough to wish I had one.0 -

I am going to start eating healthier as I want to lose some more weight. I lost 2 stone since last year but I want to lost 2 stone more!:p
I have ordered flaxseeds, spinach, bananas and berries in my shopping as I want to start making smoothies every morning.
I feel very motivated as I have paid off my mortgage and improved my health this year already so the next step is to lose more weight. I can focus on it properly now.:T[/QUOTE
Well done on losing 2 stone and good luck with the next two. It can be done, I lost 4 stone and its the best thing I could ever have done for myself I was in a lot of pain with Arthritis, now pain free,Slimming World at target0 -

Lol PN on the two days its actually needed, but ohhhhhhhhh absolute bliss to have one.About 27 years ago or so they used to be about £30-40 ... which was pricey.
Over the years I've always promised myself one as a luxurious treat ... and could never "justify the cost" - and it'd take a bit of research to work out which sort I wanted ... so I never started.
But I was killing time today before the hygienist and wandered into maplins, who had their closing down sale on - and they were just there, something like £40 down to £24, so I figured "well, I could go home, research them, decide I should've bought one of these, but then never remember to come back .... or I can just BUY ONE ...." so I just bought it
I didn't realise until I read the label that it "only" uses 50watts! I thought they were a lot juicier than that..... so pennies to run, on the basis it's not every week/month you even use it. I bet on a "really hot year" it'd be just 3-4 days at 8-10 hours/day.0 -
:rotfl:at the thought of a fan. I had two - one broke on me since moving here, so just chucked and not replaced. Still got one - and I've not used it since moving here - so am just "keeping it in case" and hoping that the fact I've not felt the need is down to different house construction and not worse climate here iyswim.
Must be a sign I'm still a bit optimistic that I hang onto it...
Thankfully a sunny day here today - but fixed plans for the whole of the day - so will miss it. Those plans include a bit of changing of regular commitments to avoid clashing with other things going on here. Motto - you know you live in a smaller place than you're used to when you start doing your best to ensure social commitments don't clash - because there's a lot less going on than you're used to.....
Have come to conclusion it's noticeably harder being single in a more country-ish place than a city.0 -
Good morning everyone,
I was awol yesterday due to a misbehaving internet connection:mad:.
I made lunch for my Dad and then went to the library later in the afternoon. It was a funny day weather wise blazing sunshine and quite warm one minute and freezing rain and windy the next. So far today it just seems to be the freezing rain/wind combination! I see from the forecast it's to dry up tomorrow but be much colder with frost overnight so I'm glad I have planted any tender plants out yet:).
As it is so chilly this morning I've popped a pot of soup on to cook for lunch , a real chuck together of shepherdess pie filling from the freezer, chopped tomatoes, curry powder, oxo cube and dehydrated mushrooms, onions and peppers.
Tonight I'm having gnocchi with a sauce of some sort.:)0 -
I filled two bread rolls with the last of the tomatoes and the final egg I boiled the other day. They're wrapped in foil for if/when I fancy eating them.
Breakfast was a toasted muffin topped with beans and scrambled eggs.
The trouble with the weather is you get your mind set round to one type of food ... buying in a few of that type of item ... then it changes and it's the wrong weather. Luckily for me I'd decided that I will try/buy a small bag of mixed salad (67p/4ldi) to randomly toss into things... but I'd not actually got round to buying it, which is good as it's turned cold and windy again. You really need about 5 hot days to justify buying any salad stuff so it gets used.0 -
I had a smoothie for breakfast and then 1/2 a tin of baked beans with a toasted, gluten free roll and a handful of cashew nuts.
Well done on losing 2 stone and good luck with the next two. It can be done, I lost 4 stone and its the best thing I could ever have done for myself I was in a lot of pain with Arthritis, now pain free,
Wow, well done!:T I hope it will help with some of my joint pain too.0 -

I don't mind eating salad when it's cooler however the problem with today's salad is someone has been fiddling with the temperature on the fridge at work and the tomatoes are too cold to eat. I would normally leave it to warm up but we have a 1pm meetingLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0
