Grey hair throughout at our Spoons! I am the exception, thanks to my hairdresser.

Maybe I'll avoid the salad. Actually I'm now thinking I might avoid the food altogether and cook when I get home. The very thought of mice ruins my appetite.
  • Wort - I notice you said you are gluten-free.

I'm not - but wrote down a pizza crust recipe this morning you might be interested in?

    - 1 cup uncooked quinoa and 1 cup water
    - Blitz in food processor till creamy
    - Line a baking tray with parchment paper and spread this out on there as base
    - Bake 375F for 10-15 minutes
    - Then put on toppings of choice and cook as normal.

Not tried it yet - but you might like to give it a go.

Thanks Money! I've never tried quinoa, tbh.

I've just made vegetable soup, and had some for lunch, followed by vanilla yogurt and raspberries.
I've made ginger cake with dgson and just had a slice with a cuppa. We are having it with custard after tea.

I've done extra potatoes and all the cauli, and will make potato and cauli cheese bake tomorrow.
We've got beef with roast potatoes, broccoli, sugar snap peas, carrots and cauli. Yorkshire puds.

  • Worth trying quinoa imo. I know I always keep some in now - because I find it a pretty versatile/quick-cooking grain and can use it for either savoury or sweet things.

...and, on that note, time to think about dinner tonight - which I think is probably going to include some.

Sorry didn't mean to put you off, I live in a small town it happened on a quiet news week and made front page of local paper.

    Good evening everyone,
I've had very quiet, mainly horizontal, day due to a vertigo flare up. Thankfully meds have done their stuff - just need to re-find my land legs!
Some of our local(ish) "Spoons" are pretty good, yes the food is pre-made and shipped in but at least the prices reflect it, unlike some chains that do the same but are IMHO pretty pricey for what you get.
Having an easy CFO tonight of LO roasted veg, some baby spuds and a pork steak.
It's pretty cold here tonight due to head to freezing again but the forecast is ok so balance permitting I hope to get some bits done in the garden tomorrow before the rain comes in on Tuesday. Thankfully we seem to be missing the forecasted snow/gales for once.

Sorry to hear you've had a bad day Caronc, hopefully tomorrow will be better for you.

Cold here today i took my friend to the garden centre and forgot my jacket. I'm walking around saying no rush take your time meanwhile trying to stop shivering. Lasagna turned out really nice just as well as my friend has no problem telling me how she thinks I could of cooked something better  after over 25years she's not going to change, I just smile and say I like it this way and when I eat at hers I'm better mannered :). There's enough left for tomorrow's dinner and one for the freezer. Just a couple of crumpets tonight to fill a very small hole.

The cat decided that the stranger in the house wasn't going to hurt him and insisted in joining us for a game of canasta by getting on the table and laying on the cards :rotfl: I'm sure that's why I lost!

I am just watching rip off Britain about sourdough, very interesting and just what I thought ie the supermarkets are not producing real sourdough ie they are fast mass producting with added yeast. I did know that and the one time I bought it, it tasted horrible and was sticky inside. They don`t have to display ingredients on unwrapped bread. No wonder people are getting IBS from false sourdough. I am about to buy myself another sd starter, it isn`t hard to make real sd bread and costs pennies to make the genuine bread

I have veggies to use today and one of the easiest in the past few days was the part roasted tiny cubes of swede and celeriac, I have been using them re-heated or cold. Today I will be opening a tin of beans, not in sauce and I`ll be making a salad, adding capers, sweet leaves, celery, lo roasted mix, tomato and I have a blackcurrant pie in the freezer, nice to have a slice with half a small brown cow yoghurt.

Breakfast was a scrambled egg with lo cheese on round crispy rye crackers. I need to use those crackers so will keep them out and handy. That is basically the two meals for me, anything else is an added extra but I am in a nice routine with food, most of the time. I have a bit of carrot soup left, so like yesterday, that will slip down nicely mid morning and I will just add a bit of quinoa/lentil pasta for the protein

I took 15 drops of a cbd yesterday early evening as I was on the verge of that inflammation which causes aches, pains and sleeplessness, it worked so well overnight. Getting back to multi veggies will overcome the inflammations that can lurk and cause damage

I am very calm about the house hunting now, waiting for my fate to step in and just accepting local alerts from primelocation and rightmove. I learnt a lot about slimey estate agents and the slimiest ones were those that drove big flashy cars
  • Here - EA's with flashy cars - you're not living in my area after all are you?:rotfl: I had one like that come in to value this house after I'd done a lot of work on it. His face was a picture - after his initial assumption that the house couldn't have had "that" much work done to it and so he asked me. Then I started reeling off the list of what I'd done - and he looked gobsmacked at how long it was:rotfl:

As you say - you can only keep looking now. You've put out your requirements all round and sometimes things are just down to Fate/The Universe - as we well know....

...on that note.....and in a very different direction - does anyone know what a suitable website link would be for a Guernsey local newspaper? They must have at least one - presumably...
