As the temp is now above zero there's been a bit of a thaw and some rain overnight but it’s made the pavements even more treacherous. The forecast is now for sleet/rain instead of snow thank goodness

I had avocado and egg salad in lettuce cups for lunch.
Dinner is a repeat of yesterday as I made double quantities of macaroni cheese.

It rained over night I laid in bed at 3am listening to it and then the temperature dropped and it froze again. Our cottage hospital has a very small one way car park and to go around again you have to go out the exit onto the road and back up the road to the entrance. This morning I did it twice before driving down to the swimming pool carpark five minute walk away, they hadn't gritted although it's the local authority i walked pass two cars almost went A over T so worried about the hip I inched my way back to my car and tried the hospital again, luckily I was there as a car pulled out Justin front of me. It was a interesting visit she wanted to look at her banking app but had no idea of the PIN number asked if E was a number 😕 for the most part she was clear headed today just very tired. Luckily I had set up up a DD for her CC before Christmas ' just in case'
A friend gave me two dozen large eggs today, they volunteer for the community fridge collecting from the SMs, it seems the dates on the egg boxes were misprinted and had today's date on as the end date where in fact they were fresh not sure what SM it was but I'll pass a box on to my sister tomorrow.

Back to sunny and bright but the icy cold wind was also back, wished I’d popped my hat on when I went out for fresh air and bread at lunchtime! I’d popped the soup maker on with carrot, lentils and a dollop of Thai curry paste so a lovely bowl of soup and fresh bread when I got in. There’s another 4 portions to either eat or find space in the freezer for 🙃
Chinese pork shoulder steak with noodles and stir fried veg tonight.2 -

I just went to the chiropodist this morning Farway. It is drizzly here.
I just had a sandwich when I got home and I’m about to have a cup of green tea. The heating is on to warm the house up.2 -
Good morning everyone,
Cold, grey and dryish here this morning.
Trying to decide what to get my sis for her birthday, we all club together so it's a decent amount but she's not being hugely forthcoming on wishes so far!
Domestic catch up today and need to finalise tomorrow's surprisingly large Tesco order, the last few weeks have been festive orientated so need to replenish basics and fresh stuff. It quickly mounts up!
Soup from the freezer for lunch and tonight it's sausage and veg pasta with salad using the Heck Chicken Italia sausages and some HM (by DS1) Italian seasoning.2 -
…and the hits just keep on coming - very heavy frost on top of yesterday’s thaw making it even worse out there but heigh-ho at least the sun’s shining.
I’m definitely not going outside today but glad I sploshed my way through the slushy stuff yesterday to get some smoked haddock and eggs from the fishmonger so its kedgeree for dinner tonight.
Some more orange soup from the freezer for lunch, it could be any one of three as I forgot to label

@caronc - does your sister needs "stuff" or would a fun experience be better? Maybe a gift card somewhere that sells her hobby stuff so she can choose what to get? In family, we ususally go out to an antique store or thrift shop and buy the birthday sister something she likes there and then go out to eat.2

Finally left the house for work purposes today 😂. Had to do light windscreen scraping just before 7.30 this morning but then had easy journeys both ways.
Took a portion of the Thai carrot and lentil soup with a chunk of bread for lunch. LO Chinese pork steak chopped up in egg fried rice with red pepper, sugar snap peas and baby sweetcorn tonight.
Nearly done the longest week of the year at work 🙃1 -
Good luck in the gift hunting Caronc, one of my sister always says you know me so well I don't need to tell you what I want 🙄 which I hate!I had to drop some shoes at the hospital this morning as requested by the physio, I was unpopular for chatting to my EF neighbour whilst she was sleeping as I was her visitor! I quite enjoyed discussing Mick Jagger with a 90 year old lady with dementia (she told me that) to the amusement of the nurse 😁 I brought back some washing.
