I also need to tackle some finance admin, I just need my brain in the right place to do it!We had had a little snow when I woke up, our Close still has some coverage as we don't get gritted. My sister borrowed my car so I didn't venture out other than bring the bin in, I'm wary of slipping with the new hip.I made stock with a FS turkey drumstick from the freezer (I didn't have turkey at Christmas so I'm not sick of it 😁) I'll skim the fat tomorrow once it has rose to the surface and make soup/broth. Ocardo are due tomorrow evening so I tidied and cleaned the fridge ready for it and then tweaked the order.Cold chicken thigh LO from yesterday for lunch, stripped and added to a part baked ciabatta roll with salad.
Rump steak, fried onions green veg and LO new potatoes chipped for dinner with a salsa verde. This was one of the steaks I picked up really cheap from Waitrose meat counter after Christmas, if I knew it was going to be this nice and tender I would have been greedy and picked up both bags of three the assistant had carved from the rump joint and bagged up at the end of the day. Let's hope the other two are as nice 😋Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin2 -
I'm still so tired from the weekend walks!
I saw on FB that there was a double page spread in the local newspaper of the second walk I did as it attracted so many people.
I'm about to have breakfast in a minute and a hot drink as it feels chilly!2 -
Frost still lingering, but now grey & dull
Likewise hot drink once I finish here, I may try some cheapo fake BovrilWednesday2000 said:and a hot drink as it feels chilly!Lunch, should really be LO crust less quiche, but will probably be a hot bacon sarnieDinner, TBD, could be LO gammon, eggs & AF chips,Asda due tomorrow

Good morning everyone,
No snow here instead it's cold, dark wet and still feeling very cold.
Apart from domestics I've not much planned for today though could really do with making a start on decluttering my very cluttered bedroom. It seems to have become a bit of dumping ground for random items and half of the clothes in my wardrobe no longer fit so need sorting out! It will a few minutes a day job over a long period I think, my days of doing big blitzes are well behind me!
HM soup for lunch and tonight it's veggie chilli from the freezer with salad and either rice or a baked spud.2 -
It must be slightly warmer today because the icicles hanging from the guttering are starting to melt a bit
however the pavements are treacherous with compacted snow & ice so I didn't wander far.I’ve been sorting out finances too, moved money around and paid some bills. The good thing about this weather is I haven't spent anything out of the day to day budget yet this month.
Lunch was more of the soup I made yesterday and I’m defrosting milk and cheese from my freezer stash to make some macaroni cheese for dinner tonight.

In bed as just couldn’t get warm, and am so tired after 2 days back at work 🙄
Posh fishfinger sandwich for lunch and pesto pasta with salmon and sugar snap peas tonight. I’ve also prepped carrots ready to go in the soup maker tomorrow.2 -
According to the car it was -6c when I went to the dentist this morning at 9am, the steering wheel hurt my hands it was so cold 🥶 I was going to park at my sister and walk down but decided I'll pay for parking as it's near the dentist and less risk of slipping I then grumbled all day as it was £1.80 a hour 😡 not sure why that annoyed me considering the price of a non nhs filling. I didn't hang around in town too cold and I didn't need anything.I'm regretting that my smart meter display has decided to start working after a couple of months, I could do without knowing how much it's costing to keep warm.SM was delivered with one substitute which I sent back, it was a nice to have.Sardines on toast for lunch
I made turkey and vegetable soup this afternoon and had a large bowl for dinner 😋 there's a large bowl left.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin2 -
I have the heating on and my halogen heater on as well.
I fell asleep really early last night as I'm still so tired. I didn't have any dinner so I'm about to make myself a big breakfast with some hot tea.2 -
Good morning everyone,
Very cold and windy here this morning but dry and trying to bright. Yesterday was just a dark, raw, miserable day.
Just waiting for my sis to collect Ari, we had him overnight as she was going out, then I'll see what the day brings.
More HM soup for lunch. I was supposed to be CFO tonight but DS2's plans have changed and he's home now. I'm thinking some sort of chicken and veg oven bung in.2 -
Sunny with blue sky, frost has gone so relatively mild until the next lot arrives tomorrowAsda delivery arrived, had to send one sub back, like Brambling it was a Nice to Have but a Can do WithoutLunch, LO, warmed through, crust less quiche. Now it's a few days older, it has firmed up & is far better than when "new"Dinner, last of the LO quiche, and try some frozen hash browns. Not my usal food but I had some when out to lunch the other day and quite liked them, so giving them a go for a changeNumerus non sum2
