Very cold again here (although no frost) but lovely and sunny. Have done another load of washing, some ironing, cleaned the inside glass of the car after the sun made the windscreen look awful 😅

I’ve also had a swim and an exciting trip to the tip, which was very busy.

Avocado and scrambled eggs on toasted bagel for lunch. Used the rest of the LO chicken in a creamy tomato pasta sauce tonight, served with tenderstem. There are LO LOs…plus, I froze the LO cooked new potatoes to be fried or roasted another day 🙃

The joy of CFO LOs of LOs 😁

im told in some parts of town there was a light snow this morning which we missed here, I had to chip the ice off the windscreen rather than frost. It was a cold start to day but definitely woke me up.  The volunteering office was cold today, I was glad of my thick top.

Elderly friend was able to call this morning (4-times in my 10 minute drive as I didn't answer ) she was a lot brighter and less confused however hospital called late afternoon to say she had fallen again, luckily half caught by the nurse so didn't have a hard landing.  They can't X-ray after 5 or at weekends but they don't think anything is broken.  I did say as she falls at least once a week I was glad they could see the situation. Petworth tomorrow will be some light relief !

    Tuna mayo salad for lunch.

Pan fried sea bass fillet, dusted in flour with green beans, tenderstem broccoli and some AF LO new potatoes

Hard frost this morning, but lovely blue sky & sunshine. Best observed from this side of the glass

Better news on your EF Brambling, and confirmation that they are aware at least

I'm still using up, pressure-cooked the Christmas gammon this morning, it was either do it now or freeze to do another day, so I decided to continue clearing stuff out to restock at leisure.
Also made a packet bread mix loaf, Cheddar & sun dried tom, smells very yummy

Lunch, gammon sarnie of course  :)
Dinner, gammon, frozen AF chips & eggs

    Good afternoon everyone,
I'm glad EF didn't have a hard fall Brambling but helpful that it confirms what you are saying.
Bitterly cold and windy here at just 2C with a feels like -3C but lovely and sunny with it.
We had Ari overnight so my sister popped by earlier to collect him and stayed on for a cuppa and a natter. DS2 took the decorations down yesterday and I a quick hoover round. The place could do with a thorough clean but that can wait until Monday. I also sorted out the fridge and did a bit of freezer rearranging. This afternoon I want to do my monthly finances and do some savings shuffling.
Spicy carrot and parsnip soup for lunch. Tonight it's honey mustard gammon shanks with potatoes, broccoli, green beans, carrots and sprouts. The sprouts, carrots and broccoli are from the cheap Christmas veg and have lasted really well.

Our poor gardener deserves 10/10 for his valiant effort this morning. He spent two and a half hours clearing away last night's deluge of snow only to have one heavy shower after another cover up his hard work.

I’m so glad I’ve got a well stocked freezer and cupboards so no need to go out at all and I’ve got a jigsaw puzzle on the go to keep me occupied.

Lunch - fish finger and coleslaw sandwich
Dinner - Beef stroganoff with brown rice and green beans.

I had a banana and a cup of Yorkshire tea before I went out for my group walk. It was very cold today! I had a chai latte in a cafe and then a veg burger and chips in the pub. The food was appalling as well as cold and I ate about a third of it. Annoying. We complained and got a free drink! Needless to say I won’t be going back there.

Another cold but bright m sunny day here. Braved the cold for a bit this morning to tidy up my poor neglected pots and sweep up a load of leaves. Also continued with the car cleaning and hoovered it all out (I am happy to pay for someone to wash it but it is the same amount again for a quick dust and hoover).

Helped family out with some stuff this afternoon but got lunch of HM soup, bread and cheese in the deal 😉

I’ve also done a top up shop of fresh bits now the LOs are about done - I like to be organised before back to work plus the weather looks grim for the coming week. LO creamy tomato chicken pasta with more tenderstem tonight.

I just had a chai latte as I'm going out to eat today. The restaurant is hopefully better than the one yesterday! It feels very cold so I have ordered a taxi so I don't have to wait for the bus. I'm taking my scarf today too.

Hard frost this morning, but blue sky & sunshine so it looks bright. Good idea on taxi & scarf Wednesday if it's anything like here.

I need to get my Asda delivery sorted for this week, thought I had plenty, but once I started to really look, what I really have is junk, like biscuits, mince pies etc, so I need to get back to boringly normal for New Year

    Lunch, gammon sarnie
    Dinner, gammon + something

    Good morning everyone,
Well in the minuses here but bright and sunny. It's icy underfoot so I shan't be straying. I'm happy to have a day of pottering. I want to get the spare fridge emptied and put away, make soup and prep some veg for the freezer.
I had a productive personal admin session yesterday, shuffled various savings and feel set for 2026.  :)
Lunch today will be HM spicy carrot and parsnip soup with crackers and LO gammon. Turkey soup for dinner this evening.
