    Good morning everyone,
I hope everyone enjoyed their day yesterday. Mine was hectic but very enjoyable, I'm looking forward to a quieter day today to recover!
Very cold and icy here and despite the sunshine I don't think the ice will lift before it gets dark again. The kids have headed to the beach with the pooches and then DS1 and DIL will go back to Glasgow. DS2 is off out with mates tonight and my nephew is working so it will just be me and my sister scoffing leftovers and watching rubbish TV!

    Good morning everyone,
Grey and cold here this morning. DS2 has headed with Hector to meet up with friends for a coffee before they head back to Cornwall tomorrow. I'm just pottering and trying to catch up with laundry = tablecloths and tea towels mainly so they're ready for the first.
Apart from some turkey and a spot of gravy Christmas dinner LOs have been eaten. Turkey soup will be made today and I'm looking forward to a turkey salad wrap for lunch. Cajun spiced salmon with roast veg, sweet potatoes and Calvo Nero for dinner.
  • I'm still feeling very full from everything I have eaten the past few days. I'm just having a chai latte and I'm about to make a smoothie.

I am going to have a tin of soup and some sourdough toast when I'm hungry. I need to go through the fridge again to see what needs using up tonight.

Back again, my internet went down on Christmas Eve and only came back last night, but as I was out or busy the loss was not too bad, just some rubbish TV along with Caron

All travelling & visits completed, next is New Year I guess

I've put some of the unopened or not used meat / flan into the freezer already, maybe more follow in the next few days
The fresh salmon half was portioned into five with four frozen and one eaten on the 24th

It was min pork pies for breakfast, my toast loaf was mouldy  :(

Lunch, getting into the smoked salmon & scrambled eggs now, amy as well eat fresh than freeze.
Dinner, I have a ready to bake Bloomer so I'll bake that, then BLT, or may cook my gammon joint and it's ham salad

  • Happy betwixmas, I hope everyone had a good time and that everything went well for those with head chef responsibilities.

I hope your sister's granddaughter is on the mend after her hospital visit Brambling and was able to enjoy her Christmas.

I’ve had a great time with no cooking responsibilities at all although I need to give myself a manicure following my duties as head pot washer.

    L - Turkey salad sandwich
D - Pan fried salmon, leeks in mustard sauce, brussel sprouts.

Lazy day here as well other than a hair appointment (my hairdresser opened for one day before going on a late honeymoon) and a quick look at couple of shops before decided that home would be quieter😁

we had a quiet ChrIstmas day as my nephew and family didn't get home from hospital until after 5pm Christmas Eve and the adults had succumbed to the lurgy.  We did a drop and run dinner delivery on Christmas Day and they had recovered enough to come around Boxing Day.  Little one still isn't 100% and is a little teary at times, her uncle had to be patient when she played doctor.

I picked up some 50p YS chilli and garlic prawns in M&S which I had for lunch with some rice, so much garlic so just as well I was staying in.  I came back from my sisters with some gammon so had gammon, egg and chips for a late dinner.

  • I had sourdough toast with Flora and marmalade. I’m just waiting for my class to start as I’m early. It is very dreary and depressing weather today.

Dreary & depressing weather sums it up for here as well Wednesday. Dull, dry & grey

I'm on use-ups & left overs mainly, picking at bits here & there.

    Lunch, BLT
Dinner, Frittata using up LO spuds& some eggs, may grate some cheese on top

  • Despite yesterday’s mixture of sunshine and drizzle the wind managed to get my washing half dried then I finished it off on the heated airer.

The temp has however plummeted overnight and we’re in for a really chilly day, despite that I’m in the mood for something light and fresh on the palate so it’s a prawn & pink grapefruit salad for lunch.

Dinner tonight I’m having roast pork, braised red cabbage & roast potatoes
