I made a delicious lentil, tomato and carrot soup today. I have leftovers for the next two days. It isn’t really soup weather yet as it is still so mild.

We started off dry but as soon as I left the house just after 1.30pm it started to rain, I just needed to pick up some stuff in Sainsbury's for my share of a dinner tomorrow.

Tuna mayo roll for lunch.  My pork fillet hadn't defrosted in my fridge so mushroom omelette for dinner with new potatoes and green veg

Lunch, use up, eggs on toast
Dinner, with the soup talk, I'll take some HM veg soup out to defrost for dinner, it's quite thick so good for meal

    Good morning everyone,
That sounds like a delicious soup Wednesday. It's pretty much always soup weather in this house!
After a horrible day yesterday it's grey but dry and calm here this morning. Managed to get my preferred Christmas and New Year delivery slots booked despite not logging on at silly o'clock to bag them so I was surprised the ones I wanted were free. I seem to have a list of smallish domestic jobs that have built up over the last few months, the ones that don't need doing every week and then you notice that they do lol! Today I'm going to take the knobs of my cooker and give behind them a good scrub as I noticed the other they were a bit cruddy and needing more than just a wipe over. My cooker is 23 years old so it's days of being bright and sparkly are long gone but it will look better for a good scrub down.
HM soup for lunch again and tonight I'm trying this recipe from JO's latest book. Chicken & berry grain bowl | Jamie Oliver recipes

  • I was later than usual getting home last night and just grabbed soup and a sandwich before vegging out in front of the tv.

Lunch today was a salad sandwich followed by some fruit.

Dinner will be stuffed pasta with asparagus and a pesto sauce.

  • I had a quick sandwich before I left and just had a packet of crisps when I got home from my 31st class of the year.  :)

I will heat up the soup when I feel hungry and have it with a buttered roll.
  • Mild here again, damp this morning, brightened up after lunch, tipping it down now. Heated airer in use today.

Early meals today - scrambled eggs and avocado on toasted English muffin for lunch before heading out to a meeting. Had cream cheese, roasted tomato and green bean spaghetti a little while ago so I can swim later.

My sister's birthday today and I helped a mutual friend 'do' dinner, there ended up 8 adults, a 3 year old and the baby, their grandad on mummy's side shares a birthday with my sister and is the same age so he joined us.  Lots of baby cuddles, the baby is very chilled and they are a lot more relaxed with baby number two, little one grabbed me as I walked in to show me her baby brother 🙂

i needed to use the pork fillet which didn't defrost yesterday so made a quick stir fry for a early lunch with no rice or noodles so it was not too heavy.

  • The workman is here again today. I’m about to have white toast with houmous. I have the last of the leftover soup for lunch. Not sure about dinner.

Overnight rain and now dull, mild & damp

After all my, self inflicted, on line shopping muddles I was pleased to see the Asda delivery arrive on time, one OOS item [Kippers]  and three subs, I sent all the subs back, not really suitable subs IMO, two times Macaroni cheese to replace Italian RMs and cheapo, lots of water, spread to replace my posh, lots of oils & dairy, choice.

Not desperate and I can pick some up next week in Morries.

Lunch, fresh BM loaf made, so salad sarnie I think
Dinner, newly delivered, smoked mackerel fillet + new spuds & salad bits
