@Wednesday2000 - I had to take our oldest cat in the be put to sleep this last month, It was so hard. The vet let my roommate and I stay with her to the very end. It was very peaceful. But as in your case, it was the right time. Sending you (((hugs))) from America.2

Thanks. It is sad. I slept downstairs with my cat last night and will again tonight.
I haven't had anything yet as we have two workmen round and the water is turned off at the moment.

            Good morning everyone,
Dry but overcast and cold it's to get wet and windy as the day goes on.
Finally managed to book my slot for OVO's free 10kwh of gas per week for 10 weeks. The app seemed to be up and running but wouldn't actually do anything at first. Eventually after deleting, redownloading a couple of times and then restarting my phone it worked. Now if I could just get the Boots website to let me book a flu jab!
Pay day for me today so will get my monthly money shuffling done and I need to finalise tomorrow's Tesco order.
I made a decent start at sorting out the random tubs in the smaller freezer and disposed of a two of UFOs where the label had come off, some very elderly cooked haggis and a very freezer burned small portion of chicken and leek potato topped pie so it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be waste wise. Now there's a bit of space I'll give a good tidy see if I can clear the tall top shelf ready for the turkey and trimmings as I booked my butcher's order yesterday though it's not arriving until the beginning of December.
I had a tasty CFO dinner of just what I fancied yesterday evening, cheesy AF chips topped with onion. mushrooms and peppers in gravy. It really hit the spot. I'm CFO again today as DS2 will be late back so need to have a think for tonight. Lunch will be a bowl of HM soup with a toasted pitta bread.1

Bright, dry & mild, ideal for Brambling on her way to New Forest for lunchDentist first thing, no work required, so just the check-up. Next time is a year now, either he has plenty of work or my teeth have magically improved with age Then into Morries on way home, YS mooch mainly, but picked up a nice cauliflower and a fresh whole mackerel tempted me, not had one since pre Covid, not something I'd buy without seeing it first.Lunch, grilled mousetrap cheese on toastDinner, fresh mackerel, not sure yet if grilled or baked in tin foil parcel. I had crumpets for breakfast and I took some leftover cheese and leftover mushroom soup out of the freezer and will have the soup with a cheese salad ciabatta.
I’m not sure about dinner yet.2025 GOALS

I love fresh mackerel too Farway, but my fishmonger rarely has it or sells out quickly and like you I prefer to see it before buying. It was getting way too chilly last night so I finally put the heating on and with the overnight low we had I was so glad I did. Because my flat is nice and cosy now I was happy to use up the last of the lettuce in an egg & cheese salad for lunch. Defrosting a portion of rice, prawns and some veg for a fried rice dinner tonight. Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

We ate a lot of mackerel as kids, the fish man came every Thursday and it was a cheap fish. If the mackerel was plentiful he would knock on the door on other days and almost give it away, dad would say stormy weather would bring them into Weymouth, they aren't a cheap fish anymore 😕
The journeys today were both awful, the usual time doubled on the way back, I told my sister next time I'm leaving here early and she can feed me breakfast as well. I left at 3pm hoping to miss the worst of the traffic, it didn't work 😕 and when I finally made it into the county the radio reported there was a accident closing the road into town so google maps found a alternative which i wouldn't usually have tackled in daylight let alone in the dark horrid country lanes, I lost my bearings so had to keep following it's directions!  Moaning apart it was lovely to see them both and we had a nice lunch, her birthday is tomorrow, we used to tell she is a witch 😁 🧙♀️ horrid country lanes, I lost my bearings so had to keep following it's directions!  Moaning apart it was lovely to see them both and we had a nice lunch, her birthday is tomorrow, we used to tell she is a witch 😁 🧙♀️
lunch out so just a couple of her scones for dinner, which she sent back with me.

Dull & drizzle, hardly uplifting looking out at the momentThat journey sounds awful Brambling, but going to get worse soon, I saw a bit about closing M27 while they install some over, or under, pass, Fareham way. Hope it's done by Christmas 'cos I'll be heading West then to DS & DDMade a fresh loaf in BM overnight, now cooling ready for lunchLunch, just fancy a crisp sarnie, nice & easyDinner, Morries YS egg & bacon quiche / flan bought yesterday, I'll heat it through, with AF chips + bit of saladNumerus non sum0

            Good morning everyone,
 Thinking of you today Wednesday.
Cold, wet and miserable here this morning, some of the rain squalls are decidedly lumpy, thankfully DS2 managed to walk Hector before work without getting soaked!
Domestics this morning and Tesco are coming later. Yesterday I made the base for Nana's Magic soup for tomorrow so I'll get it blended this evening. For dinner last night I made a Chinese curryish chicken, veg and brown rice stew using up loads of ends of veg. It made at least three portions so I might have one tonight again rather than freezing it all. Lunch will be carrot and coriander soup again so a rinse and repeat kind of day food wise unless I cba cooking something different tonight.0

Much warmer today despite the strong winds and the heating didn't come on at all this morning which suits me fine. Sending <<hugs>> Wednesday Lunch is sardines on toast and I’ve got a gammon joint in the SC for tonight which I have with cauliflower cheese and baby potatoes. Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
