Cooler but dry today so I did a little gardening before my body objected  :| the brambles seem to be taking over again at the back

Crumpets with blackcurrant jam for lunch.

I've been cursing freezing a whole duck before Christmas (it was YS of course 😁 and only £4.50) I usually break them down.  It's taking up too much room! Dinner was roast duck, Jersey Royals, purple sprouting, french and runner beans. It roasted well in the ninja. Plenty left of course, some may go back in the freezer

    Good afternoon,
Goodness we had a lot of rain yesterday/overnight! Drier today with just the odd heavy shower.
First Ayrshire tatties of the season were delicious, there's a few LO which will be added to a salad for lunch.  :)
My sis is coming for dinner, I'm making this Spinach Ricotta Pasta Bake - RecipeTin Eats which we'll have with salad and crusty bread.

Sunny spells this morning but the clouds are building so maybe some rain this afternoon.

A staying at home day for me today catching up on chores, I also got a curry going in the SC this morning which will be perfect for tomorrow night, giving the flavour time to mature  B)

Picked up a YS avocado in tesco yesterday which is perfect for lunch today as guacamole with cucumber, radish, tomato and some crusty bread.

After Caronc's recommendation I also got the pork, smoked red pepper and paprika hotdogs for tonight, they are quite large so I'll only need one with some jersey royals and coleslaw.

Feels really cold here this evening, think it’s the damp. I’ve popped the heating on so I’ve also put a wash through and hung it on the airer in front of a radiator 🙃

Out and about today so packed lunch of spicy roast carrot, lentil and feta salad. Egg fried rice tonight with LO roast chicken from the freezer, red pepper, the end of the broccoli and a few sugar snaps.

I missed a call from the hospital when I was on hold to the building society just before 2pm today, the message was they have a date for my hip op.  I only got the answer phone when I called them back and a couple of more times later so I think she is probably part time, annoyingly I didn't get through to the BS after over 30 minutes either. I'll try the hospital in the morning as I'm volunteering at Petworth tomorrow which can be a dead zone for mobiles and leave home at 9.15am.  Now I know there is a date I want to know when it is!

I had to pop around to my elderly friend to sort issues paying her credit card bill, I knew setting up apps was a bad idea, she has a DD with the credit card company but wants to pay it earlier via the bank rather than letting the CC company do what we have asked.  I think it will need to be a call to them which I couldn't face this afternoon 🫣 it has been sorted this month but I can't drive for six weeks after my op so won't be able to go in and sort things.

i made a smoothie for lunch to use up the soft fruit and a sad banana and had a couple of crackers with cheese a couple of hours later.  I had some Vietnamese spring roll wrappers in the cupboard so used some LO duck, rice noodles and veg to make some spring rolls and used some sticky plum sauce to dip them.

Chucked it down yesterday PM, with strong winds as well. Pleased to see decent rain at last, though. Brighter this morning, but still windy.

Sort of, maybe, good near on hip date Brambling, hope you get a “decent” response with a timely date.

Things may have changed, but with my card the DD was not collected if I paid up ASAP, and I think I had option of paying on receipt of bill.
However, I can see for most just pay on set date every month would be the best & easy option

    Lunch, fried egg sarnie
Dinner, use up YS cod in batter, with ???

That is good news about the hip.

It is quite sunny and nice today. I am having a cup of Yorkshire tea and then I am having air fried tofu pieces, veg pate and lettuce with wholemeal toast.

    Good morning everyone,
Hope you can get the op date firmed up Brambling and your friend's finances sorted out. Direct debit does sound the way to go even just until you are back on your feet.
Hope you enjoyed the sausage N2BT, yes one's definitely enough as they're huge.
Pasta bake last night, similar flavour and mouth feel to spinach and ricotta lasagne but a fraction of the prep. There's lots LO so I'll freeze some for another meal. Quick lunch of crackers and cheese for me before I head to the hair dressers for a much needed thin and trim. Lentil and chickpea curry tonight with rice and mixed veg raita.
