Happy official Retirement Brambling. When I woke up this morning I thought my husband has 28 days left at work after today.
It is still feeling slightly chilly, yesterday was horrible in the evening. I had the heating on for more than three hours.0 -

or maybe you were lucky enough to have dodged a chore that none of us really like, anyway happy retirement.
Its a nice start to June here too, I made an early start back on the bus to the city and after months of searching I finally managed to find a stylish, comfortable chair in a colour and fabric that suits me and my needs - hallelujah
Tuna mayo sandwich for lunch and for tea tonight just because I fancied them I bought some ready made vegetable pakora with chilli sauce and I'll add a nice crunchy salad to go with them.

Strange kind of a day - was awake in the early hours so then slept really late. Didn’t do much other than making and eating tomatoes on toast for brunch before going out to my hair appointment. Went to a large sainsburys on the way home for an item of clothing (my local store doesn’t stock clothes) and then suddenly it was half way through the afternoon. Bit of voluntary admin, grocery shopping, bit of tidying and before I knew it, it was time to make dinner - gnocchi in a creamy steak, broccoli and blue cheese sauce 😋0

The 1st June has brought the sunshine 🌞 it was a lot warmer than yesterday
i finished my finance admin this morning than after lunch picked up some shoes in town brought on line, unfortunately i didn't open the box in shop and I don't like the colour which doesn't match the picture on line. It's a shame as it is the shops online outlet store and they were a quarter of the original price just because they are last years stock. So back to town tomorrow.I got around to watermelon and feta salad for lunch 😋 cod and chorizo for dinner, I made a sauce with some roasted peppers blizted with some roasted tomatoes from the freezer very tasty and i probably won't be able to duplicate, with jersey royals, asparagus, runner beans and wilted spinach
my sister popped around for a couple of hours after dinnerLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
More sunshine today, and a bit warmer, I'll do a bit more garden pottering later, planting up some geraniums [pelargoniums] that have been hanging around for ages waiting for the decent weather.Lunch, cheapo fish fingers for convenience & a changeDinner, just fancy sausage, mash & beans.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
Black to cloudy today. Thanks to DS2 the greenhouse is all set up and stocked. I just need to look after it now!
LOs for lunch. A take on Braemar chicken tonight - roast chicken crown with black pudding, streaky bacon and peppercorn sauce served with various veg and roasties.0 -
Oooo that chicken sounds delish Caronc
Another sunny day here and food-wise its a bit of a use up kind of day, made soup with the remains of the celery before it starts to go bendy; had a portion for lunch and 2 for the freezer.
The last baking potato is starting to sprout so I'll have it with some salad and tuna mayo.

It is quite nice and warm here today. I have had cereal and fruit. I didn't realise it was so late. I might make a pasta salad or a chickpea salad. I have to look what veg I have left. I know I have mini cucumbers.2025 GOALS

I realised I don't have pasta, just spaghetti and you can't really make a pasta salad with spaghetti.
I am catching up with YouTube as I normally do on a Sunday. I made some roasted chickpeas in the air fryer and had them with cucumber, carrots and green olives. Snacky things while I was watching.
I think I will just have a sandwich for dinner as I'm feeling lazy.2025 GOALS

Been an absolutely beautiful day here 🌞 so couple of loads of washing dried on the line plus lots of garden pottering - planted up a couple of newbies, tidied/deadheaded and got the garden furniture out of the shed…
Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel for lunch. Made a butter bean and halloumi stew tonight to finally use up the halloumi, had with toasted pitta.0
