Back in the office today but mostly in meetings. Out for lunch again (it’s been a good week for lunches out 😉) so just had avocado and poached eggs on toast for tea.0

I think I'll try the watermelon and feta tomorrow depending on how warm it is 🙂
Most of the day has been dreary with showers although we did have some sunshine this morning. I spent a while watching his lordship sunbathing on next doors lawn totally ignoring the magpie hopping around him, almost getting in his face to berate him, I'm assuming it has young nearby not sure if they will be fledgling now. We do get a pair every year. With nature being a theme for the day looks like I had deer in the front garden last night, either that or very large rabbits 😁 left several gifts on the path.I started going through my clothes today until I got bored, thermals put away until the winter 😁 I seem to be collecting socks!I need to use eggs so poached egg on toast for lunch, no avocado here 🙂 salad nicoise for dinner,I costed the tuna in sesame seeds before searing itLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
Oh I do like a watermelon and feta salad.
Dry and trying to be sunny here, not terribly warm though.
Admin and more admin today. Ari's back again later for an overnight, then he's home for night before back on Sunday.
LO curry and usual Friday tbc for dinner.0 -
It feels quite chilly! It is raining too.
I am going to have some of the watermelon with my breakfast which will probably be my usual toast.0 -
Chilly here as well, hard to think it's Flaming June tomorrowUp to Morries first thing, needed milk & a mooch. Bought some YS salad bits, but other YS items were hardly reduced at all, sort of token 20p knocked off style, so just the salad YS.Lunch was cheese & salad bits sarnieDinner, I've taken a roast chicken leg out to defrost, if ready in time it's that with salad & HM AF chipsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Best wishes Brambling on your last day of paid employment, hopefully you're not guilt tripped by the boss into giving time to train up your replacement.
Also on the wildlife theme, this week I've been watching a beautiful heron down by the river estuary giving his feet a good wash early morning before all the dog walkers come along and disturb him.
Chicken, celery and tomato salad for lunch and I'll do a flatbread pizza with roast vegetables for my tea tonight.

Definitely a temperature drop today with the occasional drizzle, too cold for watermelon salad 🥶 after a morning of personal finance admin, unfortunately I still have more which needs doing 🙄 I popped into town after lunch to pick up a delivery and whilst using Sainsbury's 2 hour free parking went in for fruit and veg for the weekend. Typically when I got home I received a call to say something else was ready for collection.Cheese of toast for lunch with pickle. Such a shame, Brambling 😉
Back in the office today (yet more meetings) so even more discombobulated! It has felt like a very long short week so glad of a quiet weekend, fingers crossed the sun makes an appearance…
Couscous with cherry tomatoes, feta, olives and walnuts for lunch. Bit of a use up dinner (except I didn’t use all of the halloumi) - new potato, red pepper and halloumi traybake.0 -
Sun at last, official first day of summer so just in time after the chill of the past few days.Retirement day arrived at long last Brambling, and hopefully long sunny days ahead to enjoy it allFinalising my Asda order for next week, chopping & changing as usual, stuff out of stock etc but mostly sorted nowIf the sun keeps up a bit of pottering in the garden this afternoon, planting out some sweetcorn I bought in Morries yesterday, a real impulse buy, but at £2.50 for the plants worth a go I thought.Last time I grew sweetcorn, years ago now, earwigs in the cobs were a problem then
, but that was on my allotment.
Lunch, stale crust toasted with tinned tomsDinner, yesterday's LO frozen chicken leg never defrosted in time, so it's that today, with salad & HM chipsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Happy retirement Brambling.
Sunny and reasonably warm here. DS2 is away buying compost so we cab get the greenhouse set up. The cucumbers are currently taking over the conservatory!
LOs for lunch. Tonight it's cheaty katsu style curry using breaded chicken steaks and jazzed up Mayflower curry sauce.0
