  • OMG, I was so cold and tired after getting back from the hairdresser yesterday (I walked there and back and as I haven't been there since August I misjudged how far that was!) that we ordered McDonald's and then we got chip shop chips for dinner! The painter was blocking the freezer with his paint and stuff, but I really need to start eating better.

I am going out for dinner tonight as well!

I just popped to Coop and bought some fresh ginger and I'm having lemon and ginger tea as my stomach does not feel good, unsurprisingly.

I think I will just eat very lightly today until I have to make my way to the restaurant in London this evening.

    Good morning everyone,
Grey and wet first thing but it's clearing now and supposed to be frosty tonight.
More voluntary admin on the agenda today.
HM fish pie for dinner today with sprout and peas. Ham & coleslaw wrap planned for lunch. Made stock overnight in the SC with the chicken carcass, the house smelled gorgeous this morning.

'Morning all. Grey, cold &  misty this morning, spent some of the morning with my Asda delivery, out of stock on the fresh potted herbs, all three types, was not depending on them, only buying in advance to pot outside come Spring
Stroke of luck though, also out of stock was the Princes tinned veg curry, which I found out yesterday lunchtime I do not like because it's full of lentils, and I'm not keen on those. I binned my lunch

The sirloins on offer arrived this time and looking nice with plenty of date left, as did the Pukka pies on offer, one of those for dinner

Lunch today, being so yukky outside the mention of baked spud by Caron has tempted me, I'll nuke a frozen one and have the last of the tinned salmon with some newly delivered plebby coleslaw inside it

Dinner, as mentioned, one of the Pukka pies, with HM AF chips and probably frozen peas. There were a couple of not too good, manky in parts, spuds in the new delivery, so I'll use them ASAP just in case it spreads around

  • Definitely milder here but back to damp and grey, never happy am I?

Out to my offsite meeting as usual this morning so made a quick posh fishfinger sandwich when I got in. There were cakes at the meeting but I brought mine home and had it with a cuppa this afternoon. Kept me going through swimming and then had reheated smoked mackerel risotto with green beans and broccoli tonight.

Seems to be a long week but we’re over the hump now 🙃

Rain here today but at least it has been warmer 🙂☔️

A big work project has had to be push back at least a month (I think probably more) which made the day a little less manic as we know it doesn't have to signed off on Friday and we finished on time 🙂 my last day this week is tomorrow as Friday is pay back for working a Saturday 🙂

It was a nice and easy food day, lunch chicken soup and dinner LO lamb curry and rice

  • It started raining as soon as I got into London last night. I had a lovely meal, but ate far too much again!

I was very tired and so we went home quite early, but then I started watching that Stacey Solomon show I recorded so I went to sleep at 1.

I'm not sure what to have for breakfast as I still feel full up.

    Good morning everyone,
Back to cold and frosty though the sun is shining so it doesn't feel too cold. DS2 reports it's very icy underfoot.
I've another hour or so of admin to tackle and then I must finalise my Tesco order.
I should really do some housework but suspect the dust and debris won't be going anywhere today!
Fish pie was delicious, there's a portion LO. DS2 may have it for lunch or I'll freeze it. Crackers & salad for lunch I think. Pasta tonight with chorizo, peppers, pesto and tomato sauce.

Morning is dry, warmer and even a hint of sun, quite pleasant really when I popped out earlier to collect my prescription, there is even a bud on one of next door's daffs, none on mine yet though

I've a Mark's RM cottage pie out defrosting for dinner as part of my ongoing freezer clearances

Lunch, eggs & a slice of HM bread will have starring roles, either scrambled or fried, on toast or may try fried bread again, in the pan this time?
Dinner, as above or if not defrosted in time it's something & salad

    Hi everyone,

Freezer surprise for me for most of this week.  I was away for the weekend last weekend, so I didn’t buy any groceries.

So this week I have eaten from stores.

breakfasts have been nuts, tinned or frozen fruit, and yoghurt

lunches have been HM soups, soda bread rolls or oatcakes

dinners have been Jack Monroe’s peach and chickpea curry, a delicious tray bake curry with coconut milk - both with rice, cooked once and reheated for second meal. Tonight it’s stir fry with paper tofu, onion, (frozen) edamame and broccoli. Monday was fried tofu with cherry tomatoes and ginger which is super easy and absolutely delicious
