Good morning everyone,
I thought the right chef won.
I'm now fed up with ice as effectively housebound. I don't actually need to go anywhere, DS2 will take care of bins, but I hate not being able to if I want to.
No more snow here though everywhere has a sprinkle of powdery ice which Hector is loving rolling on. My mopping efforts on Saturday were pointless!
My cold persists, I thought it had lifted yesterday but all bunged again this morning.
A large pan of leek and veg soup is simmering on the hob, just the weather for it.Yoghurt chicken curry with spinach, rice and naan for dinner.

I went to Coop to buy a few bits. It is much less cold here.
I made this rice and beans thing when I got home as I was hungry by that point.
Kidney beans, red onion and tomato rice with avocado salad, salsa and spring onions.

Agreed, caronc - they also happened to be my favourite 🙃
Dusting of snow here this morning but mostly still grey and barely getting above freezing. Office today so no heat on until I got home but the house is taking so long to feel warm 🥶
The office was a bit nippy all morning and then unbearably warm during the afternoon…
Lunch was the last portion of spicy carrot and lentil soup from the freezer with a toasted pitta. Made Nigella’s sesame mushroom spaghetti tonight (needed more chilli for me), served with broccoli. LOs will make a lunch 😊0 -
This year I didn't mind who won out of the finalists as they were all good although i thought they made the right decision 🙂
The snow is reluctant to clear and our little Close usually doesn't for awhile. I was thinking of combining taking the spare laptop back to the office and a trip to the farm shop but TBH CBA 😁 so stayed home and pottered and caught up on Astrid : Murder in Paris worth catching up on if you like crime dramas and don't mind sub titles
lunch was a toasted bagel with smoke salmon and cream cheese. I AF a couple of chicken legs for dinner and had one as a mini roast dinner minus the roast potatoes so no need to turn the oven on 🙂 the other can do for tomorrowLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Grey, frosty, dull & cold morning. Heard the heating come on about three this morning, so temperature must've dropped lower than normal to cut in during the night, soon get through my heating extra allowance at that rate but warmer weather due next weekIdeal weather for my usual porridge breakfast, but didn't fancy it this morning, so had a fried egg sarnie insteadMade an overnight timed loaf in the Panny for this morning, it's out cooling right now, this one's a success and should see me through until the weekend.Usual reminder from Asda about tomorrow's delivery, running short of XYZ, the only one I would miss is pigs in B on offer, normally I make my own anyway but this year CBA for the few I'd like so half a dozen on offer seemed like a handy solution to a non-existent problemYesterday's steak pie on last BBE date was a bit dry, freezer burn I guess. It was OK though and half left for tonight, I will not buy again even though it is full of chunks of beef, just too expensive now & needs one hour in the oven, which makes dear CFO meal before adding anything else to the plateLunch, new loaf for a cheese & salad sarnieDinner, the LO pie, with use up spuds, mashed, and steamed use up wrinkly carrots, Savoy & cauliflower, plus instant gravy and maybe splash of plebby brown sauceEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

I got into bed at 7 yesterday to listen to a podcast and watch TV as it is much warmer than downstairs! I need to find some new podcasts to listen to.
I am probably going to have some toast in a minute and then the leftovers of the rice and beans for lunch.2025 GOALS

Good morning everyone,
Coldest night/day so far here, it was -8C at 8am and is only to get to -2C this afternoon before dropping again tonight. The heating is on.
Sis and nephew are here for dinner tonight, I'm making a sausage hotpot. HM soup for lunch,

Day off today to sort the Christmas shopping, just one item to pick up locally left 🙃
Treated myself to lunch out so fish tacos and sweet potato fries. I also had to have tea and cake in John Lewis cafe (for tradition purposes, you understand). Just had beans with toast as planning to brave the cold and go swimming later 😬0 -
I think we made the giddy heights of 1 today, I know I took the windscreen protector off and popped back indoors for 10 mins and the windscreen was freezing (Jack Frost had been making patterns 🙂 ) when I came out, the heating has been on more today than the last few but with wet washing on the landing it felt cold. Dehumidifier is also running upstairs in the hope of hurrying things along
I've been unable to turn on my towel rail in the bathroom so it's been blooming cold in there, the cold seat certainly wakes you up at 3pm 🥶 I have been unable to find my WD40 so gave up today and brought some it can't wait any longer, after a few squirts and some muscle power it is now working 🙂
I also went into Sainsbury. I had a £6 voucher to use by tomorrow if I used their Smart device and spent £60, I wouldn't normally spend that much but I'm buying the Christmas gammon and sparkling wine which took a chunk of the budget and I grabbed some stuff for my sister as well. I had to add a lemon to the trolley to get to the £60 🙂 the scanner was reluctant to read the voucher on my app so had to grab a assistant. With other smart vouchers I saved over £8 and I picked up 2 fillet steaks YS for £2.50, there's a few items to knock off my Xmas Waitrose shop now 🙂I've been coughing since I got back with a scratchy throat and a wheeze 🙄 I am testing negative at the moment, I haven't had a cold in over 3 years so maybe be due one 🤔 I'll keep to myself if I feel the same tomorrow
lunch was the same as yesterday bagel, cream cheese and the last of the smoke salmon trimmings. I wasn't that hungry so dinner was just the LO chicken leg from yesterdayLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
I was watching xmas films and then YouTube and totally forgot about the football. Sigh. I switched it on just at end.
I have eaten very weirdly the rest of today. Healthy steamed veggies, then a bar of chocolate, then some veggie sausages. I have some mango thawing too. I forgot I took it out but just saw it. I think if I had my husband here at normal hours I would obviously cook more, but being on my own so much I eat all over the place!
I have to let my dog out later. I might let her out and then make a hot chocolate before bed.
I changed our bedding to the thicker duvet cover and it makes such a difference!:) Haven't needed the heating on since 6pm and probably can wait until tomorrow morning to put it back on.2025 GOALS
